- Boston is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts that achieved its most notable successes during the 1970s and 1980s. They have sold over 31 million albums in the United States, of which 17 million were for their self-titled debut album and 7 million were for their second album, Don't Look Back. I saw Boston in '88, '94, '98 and going this Saturday (August 1st 2015) to see them again. Woohoo family tradition!!!!!
Tom was 67 during this concert. Proof rock 'n' roll keeps you young at heart.
Yes, Brad Delp had an amazing voice. So did Steve Perry of Journey. And yes, they were the greatest. But I get tired of fans whinning about how other lead vocalists don't measure-up, can't compare, it's not Journey or another band without them, blah, blah, blah!
Someone always writes about how they saw them back in '79 or 80 something in their heyday. You know, some of us couldn't go to those concerts. We were too young, too broke, serving in the military like me, or whatever. I am thankful those bands just didn't fold-up when they lost those great voices. If they would have listened to some of you, they would have.
I got to see Boston, Kansas, Journey and The Doobie Brothers in 2015 and 2017 and those shows were dreams come true. I saw three generations of fans at those shows celebrating the music of my youth. I saw silver-haired guys with their grandchildren on their shoulders rocking. I sat beside two 20 year-olds rocking when they could have been listening to hip-pop, rap-crap B.S.
Quitcherdamnbitchin! The show must go on...
haha.. just haha.. enjoy!
So they're now a cover band?
No it really doesn’t have to go on. DeCarlo never looked like Brad. He needs to fix my kitchen outlets. Disgusting
@@annex4398 Kinda tough on Tommy, aren't you?
My opinion, if you can belt it out and it sounds great, rock on

+Derek Harkins You did a good job. Thank you.
Thank you
Thanks so much.
Awesome job 👍
@Derick Hawkins Thank you so much for doing this concert for us to enjoy! You did an outstanding job putting this together for us to enjoy!! Thank you for allowing me to feel my youth again!
Seen them 4 times with Tommy on lead and they are excellent everytime
I was craving a classic rock concert and that's why I'm here 😊. I'm 61 y/o and have yet to hear music I love as much as the classic rock of the 80's. If there is a concert close to me I like to go. Music is my fountain of youth. When I hear this music my mind takes a trip back in time and I feel young again. I will take that feeling again anytime even if its just a couple of hours 🤗.
Your Right Brother! Music is a Staff of Life!
I saw em' in 77 Louisville, KY. As long as Tom is alive it is Boston.I don't usually say that but he is unique. The man is responsible for those great riffs and sound.
B Campbell I saw them in Louisville in 77 also.
Yeah, he's a genuines.
TOM SCHOLZ A LEGEND NOTHING SHORT OF GENIUS MAESTRO PLAYING GUITAR AND KEYS WITH SUCH MEMORABLE RIFFS /PHRASES ----NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE GUITAR GODS CAN EVEN DO THIS .............DONT FORGET.... I THINK HE IS WAY-OVERLOOKED NOWADAYS ........WERE THE GREATS COMPOSERS OF OLD OFTEN NEGLECTED OR HAD BECOME TAKEN FOR GRANTED WHEN THEY WERE ALIVE ??? SADLY I SAY YES...........
Paul Cormier I agree with you about creating a memorable double album and the level of musicality was genius like Giuseppe Verdi, or Beatles or journey. However what was , is and should never again be is that his understanding of musical theory failed his true genius. If he has the theory that frank zappa,or jethro Tull, or Toni Iommi, or Scott Henderson, or Alan Holdsworth has he would have left behind the style and tempo that hit the top of the Billboard and used his genius with the tools that advanced musical studies (like the type Randy Rhodes involved himself in) would have led him towards a direction that only music studies can bring you to when your at the top of your field!
RIP Brad Delp, you left us too soon.
Suicide what a way to go and what a waste
Boston first album is ARGUABLY the greatest rock and roll record EVER recorded.
Wow! Glad to see Boston back on the road & sounding great! This guy thats singing does an exellent job of covering the loss of Brad Delp..Haters gonna hate, but i'd pay to see this band in a second! Seems Kimberly has switched to guitar as she used to play bass..She used to use my drummer in her solo act when she would tour through the south..She is super talented & i'm glad shes still with Boston!
if it wasn't for my dad, I wouldn't have found boston and begin to love them
I told you .Trump is The Man..M.A.G.A
@@midnightrunner684 😅💪👍
This is so awesome.Uncanny how much this guy sounds like Brad.
Check out some other vids, like Madison 2017, or Gilford 2008; I'd say this was not even as good as a typical night for him.
to all you negative people on here, Tommy DiCarlo is freaking awesome. He is not Brad Delp for sure. But he has given Tom a second lease on Boston, and they sound great. there is no doubt something lost without Brad, but they are also missing Fran and Sib and Barry. they also helped define the sound. Its clearly Tom's band, and he can play with whoever he wants. I personally would love to see Tom and Barry play again with the other remaining orig memebers. but this current configuration is a great way to hear this freaking fantastic music, written by Tom, and heard as he envisioned it. an to people who say Tommy has no stage presence - just watch Tom. he is about as exciting as watching a LOG play the guitar - but he is great.
Brad Delp was an incredible vocalist, but even he couldn't hit those high parts live towards the end. By the 'Corporate America' tour, Delp was quoted as saying Fran Cosmo "covered the really tough high parts" live.
This is not 1970's Boston anymore, but Tom Scholz has assembled another group of skilled players that can duplicate the sound of early Boston pretty faithfully. That being said, the classic material still shines a lot more than the new stuff, and Boston never was big on stage presence.
*****, you're correct on all accounts, except Brad has credited Fran Cosmo with hitting the really tough high notes since 1995, which was 8 years before the Corporate America tour.
***** Bullshit, He sang better than ever, Maybe you havent heard Beatleguise, But Brad had ALL of his chops unttilthe end.
MC legends, Brad Delp still had chops right up until the end, but saying he sang better than ever is delusional. Especially when we're talking about very difficult to sing BOSTON songs! It seems you are the BS'er.
Brad Lee
Wow. Gotta say whatever you think about who's in the band... this does sound pretty awesome. And for a bootleg no less. Imagine if this was pro-recorded? Would be killer. I saw Boston in 1987 on the Third Stage tour with Brad and most of the original band... if not all of them... At the end of the day... Boston is Tom's band - without him... it never would have existed. If he wants to play his songs and write more and call it Boston... it's his call. After watching this... I'd go see them again just to hear this music played live. Cuz no one else is gonna do it justice.
Other than Brad & Tom there were NO original members on the tour in 1987.
RIFFHANGER I saw them on their first tour back in the late 70,s here in St. Louis when they opened up for Jethro Tull and Steve Miller Band! It was my very first concert and that's when i fell in love with Boston and their great sound! and it was all the original members then!
Bill W. The new band plays and harmonizes great - and the original band started the great tradition!!
Bill W. I saw them in '76 open for Black Sabbath and Moxy. It was a great show. Foreplay/Long Time was my favorite song back then. The next time around was in '79 and Sammy Hager opened for them.
RIFFHANGER agreed.
Even engineers have a heart !! Tom Sholtz is a genius and his way of playing guitar is unique, original, fantastic .
First and foremost i would like to say that i love the old music, members and love the new Boston just as much today as i ever have.I started a page on facebook TRYING TO PROMOTE the Boston experience band and the likes are over 5000 now.The biggest gripe i have is that i dont think the fans in Arkansas have ever had the priviledge of seeing a Boston concert or even a Boston tribute concert that came to one of our major arenas. The Boston experience band said they played at a bike rally in Hardy Arkansas in 2012.The thing that we all should be thankful for is that Tom Scholz has kept Boston alive and our memories alive for many years for which i am so thankful. How many more rock and roll bands do can anybody name that has been around as long as Boston that is still packing arenas around the world.NOT MANY.God Bless all the fans and the Boston band.Rock on forever.
Boston a great live band .saw them live at the forum on the third stage tour 87,
Was there as well.
A really masters of rock¡¡¡ BOSTON FOREVER¡¡¡¡
I saw them in 96 at the Greek in Los Angeles still my favorite concert of all time and I'm a huge metal but Boston is my favorite band from the 70's Tom played Bach's phantom of the opera on a full pipe organ it was amazing
I rarely sit down and watch a full concert on UA-cam, but I really enjoyed this one! Thanks for the post and nice to see Tom and company still out there rocking!
I loved it too
Great show!
If you're into System of a Down, check out their live show in Albania.
I totally agree, I'm also sharing on my channel. Thanks for a awesome show
Absolutely Fantastick!!!!!!!!!! They are tighter live, than any band I've ever seen!
I LOVE BOSTON!!:: and you gotta appreciate the 70's space ship stage.
Good concert. I grew up with Boston in 70's. Miss the good days
I wish I could've experienced Boston live. They didn't come through Denver very often, so I missed out. Great show 😊
Saw this last friday night. Loved boston all my life. Tom was the reason i began playing guitar. Loved them live! Rock on!
Same here over 35 yrs Riffing and Shredding this Band was my childhood . Honed my skills starting 80 - 81 and never stopped. I find it funny that Def Leppard kinda stole their sound from the TS Rockman head phone amps the OLD ones . I had one that broke in the early 90's after yrs of practicing on it ! Couldn't find a Amp repair man who could fix it ! Bought a Boss Katanna MKII 50 w last year and it took me about an hour to get that 1st album sound !! It was Glorious ...............
The lead singer did a great job with keeping the songs on the right key. Brad Delp RIP!!!
That looks a lot like Michael Sweet from Stryper !
Never mind IsTommy .Who also did a great job !
🙏😇🙌
Virtually impossible to replace the voice of a great band. Brad Delp is my all time favorite rock vocalist. But Tommy DeCarlo does an excellent job. Salute brother. Boston, keep rocking.
They were my first live concert and I’ve seen two other since and let’s just say that Boston still holds the top spot
You've only seen three concerts? WOW! I have you beat by at least 297.
Jeff Dwyer I live in an area that doesn’t get a lot of the big bands like Boston, Def Leppard, KISS etc
Def leopard at Red Rocks amphitheater was my greatest live experience. Last of the hysteria tour, then saw them again for adrenalize at the old Mcnickols are arena.
@@thomasrobertsfavesbestofco7069 I was supposed to see Def Leppard AND ZZ Top in the same night in 2020 but it got canceled. Thanks to trump
I saw Boston twice in the late 70s. When they would open, magic filled the air. They performed an outstanding show. You were with them, not watching them.
Awesome concert. Great vocals and harmonies :) BOSTON!!!
As you watch the "Walk On" segment, contemplate this: Siobhan Magnus performed earlier in the afternoon in Massachusetts, immediately jumped on a plane to LA and performed that night at the concert you see here, jumped on a plane to New York to perform her title song "Wisdom" at the Long Beach (NY) International Film Festival, then jumped on a plane to rejoin the Boston tour at Rancho Mirage, CA. Can anybody say ROCK STAR?
At 54 years old, I've been a Boston fan since I was 16. Would've loved to see this live. Sounds pretty damn good to me for not being professionally recorded. I think the singer is awesome. About as close to Brad Delp as you can get as far as I'm concerned.
I'm 57, right there with you brother
Incredible show. I got to see these guys last month at Austin, Texas. Still Rockin after all of these years.
with tom scholz being the only original member this is kind of a tribute band. they really did a good job of capturing the sound of boston from the 1970s and 80s. this was an enjoyable concert. thank you for putting it on here.
yup, agreed!
***** I believe Barry Goudreau was the original Boston guitarist, and he's no longer with the band.
***** Gary Pihl joined the band in 1985, he met Tom Scholz while touring with Sammy Hagar, Hagar was Boston's opening act in '77 and '78.
Gary Pihl's first album with the band was their third album, 'Third Stage', in 1987.
correction, 'Third Stage' was released in 1986. Here's what wikipedia says about it,
"Sammy Hagar was the opening act at the end of Boston's first tour in 1977 and opened the whole second tour in 1978/79. It was on those tours that Pihl met Tom Scholz. The two of them found out how much they had in common with their extensive home studios and techniques. It set up a lifelong bond and a few years later Tom asked Pihl to join Boston."
Boston is a band that as soon as the first few cords on the guitar are hit you know who it is 😎.
Anyone who says that new Boston is bad needs to have their head examined. Its great! A little different sure, but great.
I AGREE
I don't now about you guy's But I saw Boston in Moncton N.B. Canada. I love this band. I grew up with the old stuff and I know what happened to Boston in reguards to contract obligations. When they came out with "Third Stage in 1986 " I knew the chains were off. I heard it on our regular radio station when I heard "Amanda" I said "Holly F**K , That's BOSTON!!! People wouldn't believe me until it became public knowledge. I said "I Told You So." I've been following this band for years. I feel very privileged to have been able to see this BAND IN PERSON. I Love You People Very Much. I Am A Drummer myself. Good people will always prevail. I THANK YOU BOSTON FOR MAKING MY LIFE COMPLETE.
the new singer is not bad....but no one can replace Brad Delp...i was fortunate to have seen Brad 8 times in concert back in the good old days.....Boston will always be one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever ..right up the there with led zeppelin and the Beatles and the stones......this is what real music is..........
And Brad would tell you it doesn't matter who else sings it cus I did it first and they have to follow me and yes Tom is good !! Now bring it home to us Boston if you got the chops to do it !! And I know you do !!!!
I was at this concert. the band were awesome. Tommy is about as close as you can get to Brad's voice. I never got to see the band with Brad and do regret that. I have flown out to the States from London on five occasions to see them. every trip was worth while. Tom Scholtz's genius keeps the band going and the music sounding fresh. Boston are definitely the best rock band ever. I am also a hugh Styx fan and have seen them double header with Boston at Syracuse on 2008 and at Atlanta in 2018.
Boston's such a great band I love the dueling lead guitars and of course the smoking hot keyboards not many bands can pull off the keyboards a few have journey j geils band Chicago Allman Brothers kanas Lynyrd Skynyrd deep purple but Boston takes it to a whole nother level I still love them all, oh and I forgot Stevie Ray had a keyboard player too
I totally agree, Awesome show
Love that guitar-sound! The inventor of The Rockman!
Although do wish it was a little less the Tom Scholz show. Kind of seems like hey it's Tom with a band behind him. Great players and the vocals are superb. All you haters, let's see you sing 1 of those songs well, let alone all night long
+RoxxHunter You are soooo Right!!
Tom Scholz is Boston! Without him (and Brad Delp on vocals) the band wouldn't exist. He wrote most of the songs, played multiple instruments on their recordings and arranged most all of the music. He's a musical genius and deserves whatever spotlight he can get!
@@bwr3rd I didn't know that ;) lol It's all good. Tom Scholz is a genius and the songs are killer. Just an amazing band and amazing Vocals as well :)
“Boston” is buy far one the greatest debut albums ever!! This band incarnation is amazing. Singer is crushing it. Band is phenomenal. Thanks for uploading this.
Guess what, Disregard the earlier comments about the New singer learning about tambourine presence and his range. He nailed all but one in the old days, It's very high and it's in "More Than A Feeling" He's Improving as we go. Mr. DeCarlo never gives up. Thank You for signing the Ball Cap for the little guy in Moncton N.B. That's Real Class my Friend. I will be looking forward to more from BOSTON as years go by. AWESOME after all these years.
i think it's great to see tom sholz carry the torch to keep BOSTON going as a band they were great and still are keep rockin guys
Rock and Roll forever
While Brad is no longer alive and only Tom is left, you cannot deny that this is a great band and the lead singer does all the songs justice that I think even the great Brad Delp would approve. I would definitely go see them. If you don't like it, don't watch it. For the people who do, enjoy! I did.
Simply a-m-a-z-e-d at the negative comments, mainly in relation to the infamous-but-overly-damn-tired "Tommy vs. Brad" debate, and the product Tom Scholz is currently putting fourth. Here's some reality in a nutshell here for all the experts out there (most of which I suspect never even bothered to see a Boston show this tour, or in 2012 for that matter): Tom has assembled the best group, with the best chemistry this band has ever had. Tommy (who is NOT Brad Delp by the way - and he'd be the first to admit it!), carries off the songs with ease. His job, along with Tom, was to deliver the best Boston experience **POSSIBLE** They sounded incredible this entire tour; **few bands** can put on such a near-record perfect performance, night after night, even after 39 years since the original recordings!
Yet - all these glorious, laughable comments about how they should have just packed it in when Brad killed himself. As judged by this and any other clip from any 2014 tour stop attests to - they are on their game like no other time since 1979, as Tom has put forward the very best production possible. The tour is a massive success.
I have to agree with you 10000%, Dingle Berry. They were stellar!!!!! And, the crowds( sold out shows, by the way), really tell it like it is! Phenomenal show!!
Sorry pal this is a joke.
VERY well said brother. I saw this show from 300 feet away in Big Flats New York 3 months ago, and it was far more impressive than I expected it to be, and I am a semi-critical musician who has been a devoted fan of Boston since I was 4 (really!!) I absolutely agree that Tom and Gary have assembled a spectacular show. They have done an excellent job of bringing good old Rock and Roll to the stagefront today and mixed it with some fresh blood and sound. I have closely followed Boston's career for decades, saw them in 1995 (when Brad and Fran paired up vocals for the whole show), and this show was just as vibrant, fun, and epic as years ago. It's a terrible tragedy what happened with Brad, may he RIP. But it was unexpected, and let's face facts: Brad took his own life. So, in my opinion, it would have been a greater tragedy to have nixed Boston when he did.
That chick, those chicks, onstage are what makes it very un-rock and roll for me.
Great response Dingle Berry! They are still rockin' after this long, and they sound great. Tommy is Tommy, not Brad. There will never be Brad Delp in Boston again. Live with it. A lot of bands change their lineup. That's life in a band.
Boston has great songs. Great writing .Timeless
OMG chill out jeeez
Best bootleg on here man !
Glad someone is okay watching a concert through a phone screen so I don't have to :) But seriously, these guys are amazing!!!! One of the best live acts out there. Just sonic perfection.
I SAW SAMMY HAGAR OPEN FOR BOSTON IN 1978...THOSE WERE THE DAYS.

Sammy's old guitar player Gary Pihl has been with Boston over 30 years now.
Thank you to the person who videotaped Boston live on stage I appreciate it it's a concert that I never been to one band that I really like and a Happy New Year and a Merry Christmas to you I know I'm backwards but I'm all excited and a rock and roll history to you man TCB third son of Elvis Presley man rock and roll baby and that's the way it is man
Love this show! Only two songs missing “Hitch A Ride”, and “Higher Power”...should of played those, but this concert and video footage is Amazing! Thanks!
This iteration of the band sounds incredible!
Thats gotta be the most complicated guitar rig in the history of gear!! Most of it probably designed by Tom himself! Premier guitar need to so do a rig rundown of Toms rig!
***** That is a great rig that Tom plays. I would also love to see a rig-rundown on it. Unfortunately you would not be able to own something like this without someone like Tom to put it together for you. Much of the gear is custom designed and built by Tom himself.
Yeah,i read that he stocked up on enough gear to last him & the band a lifetime before he sold Rocktron..The guys a genius!
***** The cover of "Boston" proudly proclaimed that no synthesizers were used.. and they weren't. Tom wouldn't give away many of his secrets but in an interview in the '70s, he stated that one of the techniques he used to get that unique sound out of his guitar was by playing it through headphones that were placed directly on a microphone.. genius.
***** The gear used is Rockman modules that were invented and built by Tom. He created them in the early and mid 80s and marketed them to the general public. He created them to give him more direct control over the guitar sound. I believe every instrument has its own Rockman setup with specific settings. You can still find modules on Ebay and other various locations. Most will need to be refurbished and there are companies who do this. About the only part you can't find is his hyperspace pedal, another creation of his that allows him to play all the spaceship type sounds.
Darren Anderson Some of what Tom did sounds a little far-fetched, but, just as well, obviously there are some people who have paid real close attention to what Tom did with the sound of Boston. And I thought I knew a thing or two about Tom and Boston. Those of you who have it right, I commend you. Because you're not just throwing words out there. Thanx for paying attention. And, I hope Tom can keep rocking on and on for as long as he lives.
They play some of the most memorable lead melodies in music.
Just majestic and beautiful. 🎉
Boston (Massachusetts) produced some great sounds!
If they brought in Magnus for a new album, THAT would be killer.
Oh my gosh!!! Yes................That would truly be killer!! I'm 1000% behind that one! One of my favorite groups, with my favorite performer? I can't even................
Check out Siobhan Magnus performing "Barracuda" or "Ball and Chain". Plenty of UA-cam videos for those. Utterly phenomenal ! She was nailing the high harmonies for the last three songs on this Boston Tour , and her lead singing for "Walk On", during this concert tour, was fantastick!!!!
Came to Boston in 1976....this sound permeated the city. Good memories....
Boston coming to Salt Lake City next week and I'll be their can't wait !! ...
Also will be great to see Siobhan Magnus again ....................................

Excellent concert video. Thanks for sharing. I'll be coming back to this one to watch more from this show.
Tommy DeCarlo is a great singer. Brad Delp was a very tragic soul , but tommy is carrying the legacy well. Tom Scholz is, was and forever will be the driving force behind Boston, and for those who say "Sorry but without Brad there IS no Boston!", you are obviously wrong because this video proves they are still an entity. They exist and they exist well.
Amazing how much this guy sounds like Brad! Great job!
The vocalist isn't too bad. He's no Brad Delp, of course, but then again who is?
+YesYou123333 nicely said brotha!
Tommy De Carlo is his name
He s a little dry.
He really needs a guitar so he is not wandering around the stage acting geeky.
YesYou123333 The answer is no one , but of course,no one is was or ever will be Brad Delp.Hey but when singers step into big shoes 👠 and deliver like one in a million times ; then the transition goes over with the audience,
As that is the only thing that matters after that!! The audience! Its word of mouth 👄
I believe that I'm the only guy in the world that can Sing Boston way up to the high A# above high C! , I'm better than that guy!
Their first album was amazing! Every song on it was a jam.
sounds good. no Hitch a Ride?
Right? I saw them with Brad in the early 2000's and they didn't play it then either. Disappointing. But they still were great.
More Than a Feeling is still popular in South Africa. How about a BOSTON concert out here?
Makes me miss Brad Delp even more.
throw in a CD
was 15 years old when i saw this show. omg ....
Boston Oct 28, 1978 at Murphy Center, Murfreesboro, TN
Excuse me but Brad is dead. The new singers sound VERY close to him. ALSO...the very first song is from the first album, so what do you mean by saying they don't do the "old " music? Stoip living in the past. Tom IS Boston...not Brad.
With all due respect, YOU should show some respect. Yes, Brad is gone, but some of us will never forget him and you saying he is dead, like you could care less, is just uncalled for. I don't care whether you liked the guy or not...that's just rude.
I do care very much and I miss him. But to say that Boston is no longer Boston it's just ridiculous. Tom builds all their amps and always has. He doesn't play around with any technology he didn't build himself. All bands go through changes in Personnel these days going back to the seventies even to the sixties. I do miss Brad I love his Beatles work. But I admire the band for carrying on which is what he would have wanted. And the guy they have now and where they got him is nothing short of a fairytale it's awesome. Do you know the story? You should look it up. The new singer idolized Brad Delp his entire life and that's why he's there now. Give the guys a break. I'm a musician myself and have been in a band for many years. I have lost band members before and that didn't change the fact fact that it was still the same band
Wade Hutson Well, you are entitled to your opinion. Maybe I took your comment the wrong way. You saying 'Excuse me but Brad is dead' came off to me sounding like 'Let's just forget about him'. Sorry if I misinterpreted. I do have to admit the new singer does look and sound quite a bit like Brad. But, in my mind nobody can replace Brad. That's just how I feel. I feel the same way about Steve Perry's replacements in Journey, Dennis DeYoung's in Styx and particularly Jon Anderson's in Yes. All these guys are good, but I don't believe you can replicate the original. I also feel this way about remakes of certain movies. I'm also a musician, and have been for 40+ years in some capacity or another. A word of caution, though. You might want to take care in how you phrase things. There are friends and family of deceased people on here from time to time and I don't think they would take kindly to certain comments that are made, derogatory or otherwise.
+Daniel Kirk OMG! 😮 I'm glad you're still here to tell about it! So, you actually knew Brad? That is so cool! I wish I could've met him. In some ways, I feel like I knew him. I still get emotional every time I hear a Boston song these days. I'm sure it would've been wonderful to know him. And thanks for agreeing with me on my earlier comment and feeling the same way I do. I was looking at a video recently where Tom Scholz said himself that Boston's songs wouldn't have been as good without Brad singing them.
+Daniel Kirk WOWWWW! What a story! Sounds like you went through a lot. Like I said earlier, just glad you're still around to tell about it. I've suffered from depression since the late 90's. I've been hospitalized twice because of suicidal thoughts. Things got to be too much for me in 2014. I was laid off several years ago, couldn't find another job anywhere, lost my car. I needed somebody to talk to. Called someone who I thought was my friend. He told me he felt sorry for me, but didn't have any sympathy for me. That was the last thing I needed to hear. I was going to either walk down the street and jump off a bridge, or go down to the railroad track and wait for a train to take me out. I'm just glad I called the police first before acting on my thoughts.
Boston is still rockin', even in 2014. I was kind of worried, but they still do a very good job. Thanks!
THE SINGER IS THE GUY FROM HOME DEPOT ?
Yes
The new singer Tommy Dicarlo blew Tom Schultz away when he auditioned for Tom. Tom stated he had flashbacks to 1970, the first time he ever heard Brad Delp do what he did better than any other singer on the planet. Brad can never be replaced, however, Tommy Dicarlo is as close to sounding like Brad as is humanly possible. I cannot imagine Tom finding another singer suited for Boston who could possibly sound more like Brad than Tommy Dicarlo. Case closed!
You noticed that too?
Rafael Ferreira I thought it was Michael Sweet, but apparently it IS Tommy De Carlo.
Been a fan since day one and their debut album was the first Rock album I bought when I was in middle school. I have the utmost respect for Brad and his Legacy and how he help make the Boston sound. Time passes and if you followed Boston through the years you'd know that even Brad couldn't do what he did before. It's just the way it is guys.
I think the new singer does a great job as do the others in the band. I'm just thankful that they made the music they did and provided a soundtrack of memories for me and others. the original recordings are there if you want spot on reruns. I'm just Thankful they did what they did and are keeping it alive.
Tommy DeCarlo is spooky here. No criticism against him. I thought I was seeing and hearing Brad Delp again. So, Tommy is doing a more than admirable job.
Tommy is SO improved - he's actually singing better than Brad EVER did on the 2003-2004 tours. He has definitely captured the feel and tone of early Delp...
Dingle Berry I definitely agree with you on the singing. But look at his beard and hair. He is a spitting image of Brad Delp.
But as people have often and incorrectly eluded to - that "image transformation" is hardly intentional. DeCarlo is a great story, and this band has never sounded better. Congrats to the mastermind himself - Tom Scholz, for putting together such an impressive group!
You're out of your mind.
The "timbre" is more or less there, but a) he might add some meaner accents here and there and b) have a little bit more stage presence, in stead of pacing up and down and drinking every now and then from a plastic bottle. Too nonchalant !!! Damned he has the task of becoming the frontman, not to learn for Christmas tree. There's a solid base to continu building on, but some "minor details" need to be readdressed for sure. I'd advice him to watch regularly on UA-cam concerts of let's say young Lou Gramm to get an idea about what it means to be a front man.
Great tour last summer! I can't wait until this summer's tour! BOSTON continues to rock!
If Tom Schulz says a chic is gonna be in the band, well a chic is gonna be in the band, LOL
Data1701E truth or dare?
GREAT JOB ALL...THANX 4 MAKING Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO the music worldwide.
LOVE YOU ALL...!!!....MUCH LOVE.!!
When the hell are they coming to Europe... before it´s too late and they disappear (or before I disappear...)?
They're on Boston time. They'll be there sometime within the next 20 years.
+wBryang lol
Raúl Arkaia Russian?
John Jewel, not russian, but basque
Just saw Boston July 3rd,2015 in Elgin, Il Great Concert . Awesome instrumentals, great show, Night Ranger opened. They still packed them in. I was happy I was not in the lawn seats.
the singer is so lucky he sounds like Brad
He is not lucky he sounds like him....He worked his whole life to sound like him.
Fantastic Footage!!! Love BOSTON! Love Siobhan!
Not so bad w/ out a main ingredient....RIP Brad Delp
Still the BEST ROCK BAND
Still number 1 in my book
They sound AWESOME! I love watching the spaceship screen😆
tom scholz is doing the same thing keeping his band alive as mick jones is doing for foreigner.
then it's absolutely not foreigner anymore.
yeah !
+beatlecider they probobly have to tour with all the nasty rotten pirates stealing their music on line right?
i'm not putting them down,i think they have done a great job finding a new singer for the late brad delp;and the chick on the guitar.
What i was saying is piracy steals from the artist. So they must tour to make any money now.And i thought it sounded good.I use to listen to it on 8 track lol
Seen these guys twice the last 4 years! I think we should go again!!
one song with the girl singing is one less boston classic to be played. no offense;but people don't go to a boston concert to hear a girl sing lead.
Amen. I agree 1,000%.
spiralacrobat I'm sure that Boston would love my singing.
do you sound like brad delp ?
spiralacrobat Yes, I can land on Mariah Carey notes, too the important thing about riffing to someone else is the cadence of speech, also owning the text.Simple example when the lyrics say, clap your hands what do I do,?? Of course I clap my hands ! When it's all about toking ?
I have grin on my face and roll my eyes.Eyes 👀 roll because I Party 🎉 not because I'm actually a goof. I'm strong enough to know that my voice is special and unique but,the truth is we all have our own accents I'm 💯 % American so I sound like Brad as opposed to Armenian (Freddy Mercury) I sound more like Robert Plant or Rodger Waters, because I am a descendant of English,Irish Europeans. Both sides of my family...Oh in that context I suppose my brother sounds like Brad too? Even my father we are from a part of Ireland where I'm related to every person in town? It's pretty much what makes me confident that I sound like him.Im also so confident that I've got the chops to sing the notes that even if I do t do all the things Brad did with his voice , I'm still hitting the notes, riffing on top of the notes but not going to scratch them up to Please a few connoisseurs of rough rock singing and gravel throat because the voice will and has been taken back from Steve Perry and other singers whose ego for Rock , Rolled them out of the Arena too soon. I stop and rest when I start to get nodules from singing and nodules do happen.
ok, i'm ok with her !
Saw this show last month and it was by far one of the best if not the best shows I have seen. The sound was stellar. The fact that they were selling a greatest hit CD and giving 100 percent of the profit to charity was very cool. This band has had more hits than ISIS has idiots.
I love Boston, but live there is no interplay between the musicians. Sounds awesome but they lack energy and enthusiasm. Like they are going though the motions.
amsedelm I agree
amsedelm That's because they're a batch of studio musicians playing live. They're doing exactly what they would do in a studio.. standing and playing their parts.
tmo1138 You definately cant say that about Tom. A memeber since the mid 1970s and most responsible for the signature sound. Among the best guitarist and one of the best keyboard players in rock. I just watch them live two nights ago. The sound is better live then it is on CD and as good as it did in 1978. He is the heart of the band. But you have to remember. The dude is almost 70 years old and many of the fans are as well. The sound is what is most important, not a bunch of dudes prancing around grabbing eachothers dicks.
Physical Cliff Tom Scholz *is* Boston.. I've been fan since their first album. The rest of the guys are session musicians. That's why there's no interplay.
Deal with it.
Physical Cliff Paul MCartney and Mick Jagger and the Stones, Rod Stewart, David Bowie are all older than Tom and show way more energy on stage. Age has nothing to do with it. Any artist knows that presentation is as important as content. Some bands are studio bands, some bands are live bands, some are both. I stand by my statement.
Was at this show! Best I've EVER heard Boston! And I've seen 'em THREE times!
This is a JOKE! Sorry but without Brad there IS no Boston! Once Tom started adding electronics-and stopped doing 'old' Boston stuff-it became anything BUT Boston! This guy isn't a bad singer but its NOT Brad and you can't try to make a group without Brad..Sorry but doesn't do it for me! and to add a Female singer? That is too funny! Tom needs to do something else!
As expected - these types of thoughtless & braindead comments come from those who have not a clue of Boston history, OR how Tom Scholz operates. They hardly need people like you as fans - just move on already.
I KNOW a lot more than you think and with a name like "Dingle Berry" you have no room to talk! LOL
Heide Voglis Curious - how many of these amazing shows did you make it to on this incredible tour - be honest now.....
IF this were such a joke, then how come their shows sold out, and how come their reviews are phenomenal? AND...... why is the crowd going nuts over them, sometimes even singing louder than the band? LOL
VioletFlameMusic How true, and thank you.
I saw them live tonight for the first time ever. Incredible show! Hit after hit after hit.
Watching this in 2020 and thinking, Tom, you can’t perform at the moment, MAKE A NEW ALBUM!! It’s been 7 freaking years since life, love and hope came out
We are ready to welcome Boston after 35 years in Japan. I don't know how I explained to all Boson fans in the world how we, Japananes fans have been waiting for Boston's coming in Japan for last 35years. (More than 3 dacades).
Your guest appearance on "Walk On" was very good, Somebody should give that girl a chance. I'm not a genius but I know heart & soul commitment. That girl got it.
Perry Calder YES!!! She needs to be signed. Siobhan Magnus is phenomenal!!! Tom Scholtz knows great talent, when he sees it!
As
a rock guitar player I can never say nothing bad about BOSTON....God have mercy on Brian Delp...Met him in seattle. think it was the best concert ive ever seen....
That lead guitar gets me going every time😎!
Feelin' satisfied still give me the chills. This lineup sounds great.
Foreplay/Longtime... What a awesomely appropriate end of the show ☺️
Thank so you so much for recording this! Siobhan absolutely owns the stage from the moment she appeared to sing Walk On. You can't take your eyes off her :)
I dunno......
The jumping jack thing...
I dunno.....
Well Heide, Ive seen Boston 3 times in My life, When their first album came out, a class mate had brought the album to class, the year was 1977. I seen them in 1978 for my first time at Madison Square Garden N.Y. and since then ive seen 2 more times and the last time was Montage Mt. Scranton Pa.It was Third Stage tour and had Brad with them.
