Great video. Thank you for sharing your experience. You needed the bigger impact gun to break the clutch loose from the flywheel, did I understand that right? We’ve got a 4x4 at my new job that’s run ragged with tons of deferred maintenance & foul weather use. It dies every dang time we put it in gear (& plenty grinding gears noises) so I figure it’s way past time to swap out the primary clutch. The catch is a tweaker done runofft with our impact gun so we might only have sweat equity to push it off…sounds like you had to battle it even with an impact …all to say- you think I’d be a fool to try it without an impact gun?
It's more of trying to whack the nut off without spinning the clutch, no good way to hold it in place. The harbor freight $30 central machinery gun wasn't enough to knock it loose, (in my case) so i went and got a bigger one. I was trying to use things at my disposal to get the job done for a couple hours without it, maybe 2 people would have better luck. With a gun with enough torque it became a 5 minute job. Hope this helps.
Probably your fuel pump, a silver cylinder with 2 rubber hoses coming out of it behind the passenger seat mounted to the side wall. Touch it when keyed on but the engine isn't running and see if you hear and feel the pump running
