I primarily use E-Kits because of my living situation. Really fun to use, and definitely variety with their features and sounds.

This was my first kit and it’s awesome. Every pad is super customizable and it lasted for thousands of hours of me beating the crap out of it before the cymbal and mesh heads and pedal sensers burned out.
I haven't messed with an Alesis kit before but you might be able to switch the ride and crash triggers in the settings somewhere, then you could just flip the cables and set em up wherever

that's the magic of ekits. you can just assign things as you like (depending on the module, of course)
You can. And then you can save it as a custom kit. You just change the "voice" number in the settings. eg Crash cymbals might be voices 250-265. You just hit "voice" on the module, then hit the cymbal or pad you want to change (this selects it) and then scroll the number to 250 on the module.
After 16 years I finally got my first kit and it was this exact one you unboxed lol , I’m so happy to have a set to play on 😭

Now this is a good review. I'm 43 and have always wanted to try drums. I've been looking at this before because of the Drumeo subscription and the low cost.
You could probably just use a regular 1/4in cable to make that crash reach farther. One end into module other into cymbal trigger.
A whole new era of zack is coming.

My first kit was an alesis ekit, but even that was too loud for my housemates so I could only practice when they were all out. I do think I got the most mileage out of the kit by using my own sounds through a daw rather than the ones that came with the kit itself
Ive had nothing but fun and great experiences with my old Alesis DM10, hooked it up to my pc last year and since then im playing through SSD5.
Most fun ive had with about 600 usd

Acoustic will always be better to those whom the synesthesia between “hear” and “feel” is very apparent. I missed out of having a set of my own till my twenties thanks to being a snob about it.
Now, not as stupid as I once was I’ve got an older/downstep model nitro kit and iibh I could give a positive for every negative thing about it…or a simple, easy workaround at least 😂

E-kits tend to be overhated by people who haven’t used them much or don’t have a need for them. Many people need them for living situations and such and they are also good for practice and having access to a LARGE LIBRARY of drum sounds and you can get all your cool electro and R&B and orchestral sounds. The better Roland models are really nice

The problem is after a couple months when the sensors don’t pick everything up. Then it’s quickly only useful to go thru the motions. But $400, still is a good deal for a kit you can beat up for years. Even without sound

Grabbing one of these around the holidays to put down drum tracks on my album and once I build the drum studio and that finished in a year or so will keep the kit and modify it as triggers for other items the drums don't cover like Danny Carey does. Long goal for my mid life crisis lol I miss playing on a real kit. Just stay away from simmons though. Too much cross talk triggers were trash. Always has a better reputation and they nitro seems the best deal. Just something to track with you know? Plus I got a killer set in the addictive drums 2 waiting for it
I have a strike pro kit and my only complaint is the snare, im sure with some private snare samples the kit can come together no problem

ekit pro tip....use the front leg of your stool to hold the rug that kick pedal is on. Your thick juicy will keep things in place.
Back when I lived in a apartment my neighbor got on of them Rock Band kits for there play stations or xboxes and all I'd hear is the drums tapping and the foot pedal thumping all night long and I'd bang on the wall shouting "have loud sex like normal people and get it over with already!" so yeah depending on the quality of the apartment complex your neighbors will still hear it.

Man with stuff available like Superior Drummer 3 and the Roland TD27's hihat, edrums aren't what they used to be. They're more and more becoming just acoustic kits that are easier to control the volume of.

Tbh I’m just on both sides, but Acoustic Drums are better. Electric cymbals are Mostly too small for me. And I have more room to put more stuff on the acoustics, meanwhile With Electronic, gotta pay the amount of a car for that one Alesis Kit. But the acoustics would go for about 100-10,000 (Based off what I saw) I mostly don’t even like the e-kits because I can’t really tune the drums (hoping that they will soon)
Small cymbals are a turn off indeed.. wait until you see my next vid 😳 😂
