Really enjoying this declutter series, and I love listening to you talk through your declutter/keep choices! I keep a very minimal collection myself, but I still love hearing everyone's thoughts on their well-used makeup and seeing how different products hold up. HLP influences me a lot too, though I've mostly been able to resist temptation. She's pretty much sold me on the Merit lipsticks and I think I'm about ready to cave and buy a couple. 😅 Also, I bought the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks before hearing about how easily they break (two of the new shades, Enchantment and Duchess). I'm glad I did finally hear the rumors before using them, so I'm very careful. So far so good, no breakage, but I fear the day I accidentally drop one. It's a shame, because it really is such a gorgeous formula otherwise. Duchess is hands down my favorite red!
I agree there are some amazing colors and the formula feels great once it's on! Maybe knowing it's super fragile I could prevent it if I had another. I hope yours lasts!!
The Tom Ford is such a stunning plum! The Merit is beautiful too. We have kind of the same taste in lipsticks! I'm only about organic or green lipsticks now (hate the silicones too), it's difficult to find deep cool tones with a stable formula, no patches and no orange essential oil in it because I'm allergic (I'm in Europe). Ere Perez, 100% Fruits, Kjaer Weiss and some Lily Lolos are great for the deep cool-toned reds or the deep raspberry mauves! I have 4 lip pencils: 1 vivid red, 1 bright fuschia, 1 rosewood, 1 medium cool plum. I like to mix pencils and lipsticks to match my tops and scarves perfectly. My perfect "nude" or MLBB is a medium rosewood leaning cool mauve. I avoid anything with too much brown undertone (leans orange on me too).
yes, the patchiness is real! It's something Is struggle with too in my preferred tones. They'll swatch ok but on the lips be patchy. My MAC bullets are all like that. The Tom Ford is a way better formula.
Oh you should check out Maybelline Touch of Spice if you're looking for a good mauve. It's so good on pale olive skin! It's one of the only 2 lipsticks I've ever gone through multiple tubes of, the other being cherry skies from nyx (discontinued 🙄)

Touch of spice looks great! It's got a muteness to it that could be really natural on me for a MLBB look
