I've got to say, not only are your MOC's excellent, but your videos are so well structured. Your presentation style especially good, which is something I think I struggle with somewhat. Incredible builds and videos, looking forward to seeing more!
Awesome build. I think the playability is what makes it feel more like an official Lego set. But you’re able to also make it look like a high-end brick vault moc.
Wow! You took this set from being a 6 or a 7 out of 10 all the way up to a 9! I still think this shuttle works best at a slightly larger scale, but for it's size this mod makes it the best it could reasonably be!
Tip for the Tie fighter, since I was obsessed for months with the right wing shape: the 1x4 wedge is only 2 or so degrees off of the movie model. Using 3 of them for each segment will result in the correct measurements, if you include another 1 stud at the top and bottom of each segment, which you need anyways in the construction
Incredible work as always. I still own the 2016 version which is in my opinion the best Imperial Shuttle ever, but if I didn't I would definitely go for those modifications !
Gee thanks. You made me want this set now 🤣 I've really been enjoying your mods. They feel graspable for those of us that don't have space (or funding) for UCS level sets.
I would be really happy if u could upload the free instructions for the stand/stands. I find myself struggling so much with stand designing. Love these videos, and the quality. Cant wait for the u-wing, as I plan to customize mine !
I'd defenetely improve that ramp adding more height to the landing pieces and I'd make sure the ramp is part of the ground so when opens up is a real ramp.
i think a rogue shadow would be a really good one to see if you can do anything nice with that thing! i really like that ship but i feel like you could really add something cool to the ship.
I didn’t mention it in the video because I haven’t done enough research but pick-a-brick may have all the pieces. The downside is you have to manually select all the bricks you need
A used set isn’t too badly priced at the moment since it was super popular, but also building from scratch and just sourcing your choice of minifigures isn’t terrible either
This looks so cool I'm going to build one myself it'll be my second MOC from you! I'm dying to see what you do once you get into prequel/clone wars territory, i can see myself buying everything lol.
Your designs are wonderful in how they keep a lot of similarities whilst making them perfect for playscale. I loved the part where you talked about how many were from the original set and how much extra it would be roughly to upgrade. If you want to keep improving, in my opinion it would be great to also mention how many of the 660 pieces are used, and since you already make the instructions it woulf be great to see like a side by side of each for proportions (you can edit in the two sets next to each other without having both built)
thanks for the feedback! I try to make my videos snappy and very approachable for even moderate lego star wars fans who never plan on buying a MOC so I have avoided too many lengthy details. But ya, I may elaborate more on future sets at the end of videos. thanks!
Minifig scale ships are cool and all with the level of detail they can achieve and the accuracy with the scale but I prefer play scale ships. They are more affordable, easier to display and I find the designs, like yours, more impressive given the limited space/parts count.
I don't know if we have seen the interior of that ship in any media yet. I do know @EdgeofBricks did an amazing upgrade on that ship, he didn't expand the interior necessarily, but it looks sooo crisp and sleek inside and out
I own the 2015 Imperial Shuttle set, and I'd love to attempt to improve it using your instructions! Especially since the way you access the inside of the shuttle is pretty bad in the 2015 one lol. Also, it'd be cool to have the instructions for the stand!!
I’m not sure how many pieces would be helpful from the 2015 set. You can test it on Rebrickable for free by subtracting that model from the pieces list
I said I would come and watch the video when we talked about it in your other video, so here I am ;) Really like the clean look. Usually I actually like seeing studs and don't like the obsessive snotting, but here is just works. The shoulder/body section is the best feature in my opinion. You nailed the elongated and whide set shoulders that round off nicely and have the exposed wing attachment. I am not entirely sold on the cockpit profile though. the neck is a bit too thick I think. And, although no fault of yours, but the dark transparent roof tiles for the window don't create the best look. It makes that checker grid look and just doesn't work really well. But that is because Lego doesn't produce a 1x3 version of that piece which would solve the issue. I would probably make the window all black like the movie models. Another such issue are the wedge plates on the wings that leave the ripped look at the front, because they need to remove the frames so it could be laid over studs. I remember in the 90s they had a 4x6 and other wedges that had a full frame on the plates that made it impossible to connect over studs, but looked much cleaner. I think the scale is really good. Looks a hair off of "Battlefront scale", ie in the game, the shuttle is slightly smaller than it should be and you can stand your troopers juuust underneat it without hitting their heads.(if we go by Lego figure height and noth width as human scale) Really well done!
Thank you, and very keen observations! Ya the cockpit is tough, and I have seen some really good ones that black it out with sloped curves pieces. I opted for glass as I like the playability of seeing into the ship. The cockpit is a little thicker due to the angle, otherwise it couldn’t fit minifigures, because the real ship is sooo slender in the cockpit! It creates real issues when sizing it down - very similar issues with the Falcon at this size
@@BAUFmanBricks Have you tried tricking it with using light gray or tan on the "chin/neck" bit to crate a shaded/contrasted area to visually create an illusion to make it slimmer? I also totally agreed with you when you mentioned the realism of having a walkable corridor towards the cockpit. It's always something that bugs me when Lego creates inaccessible rooms for minifigures in their sets and you have to doll-house your figures into the rooms instead of having a logical access for them
Ya I tried darker colors underneath the cockpit and I just didn’t like it. I almost went completely white, but then opted for the light gray in the detailed greebly sections. I think the light color palette helps accentuate the sleek style
UNREAL, if I had money i would buy parts to make all your custom sets. Unfortunately i am a 17 year old who cant get a job even tho i have apllied to so many 😂
Usually I start with a Lego base model as a starting point and I figure out what scale it is currently. I do that by finding the ship dimensions online and converting to inches, then I divide that by the Lego ship in inches. That helps me determine if I need to increase or decrease the scale of the ship. This ship was slightly increased from the base Lego model which was especially lacking in width
Hahaha, pretty often. I have a lot of prequel boys asking for Jedi Interceptors and Arc-170's. I would really love if they did another wave Rogue One sets because they were great and I missed out on Krennic's shuttle and it's a high price on the after market
@@BAUFmanBricksYeah the rogue one wave is my favorite wave ever, so nostalgic to me. I got enough money a few months back and I rebuilt all of them, because I lost a few pieces over the years. Keep up the good content, I always like seeing beefed up lego sets!
Love the entire set! I think it is perfect. I was so pissed at myself that I didn't buy the UCS back in 2010. However, with this set, I feel that I could more than make up for it because of the perfection you created. I do have the 2021 set, but only 1. Question, can I build this entire set you created from scratch by ordering at Pick a Brick ? Or do I have to do pick a brick and brick link? Finally, I believe the beginning of your video stated it, but can I get your instructions for this ? It simply seems amazing. Bravo to you! 👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼 ( I see you linked it , is that all I need?)
So yes, that link will send you to my instructions on Rebrickable. You will also see an Inventory tab on the Rebrickable page, this is where you can also amend the bricks you need by indicating you have the 2021 set and it will subtract it from the list. Once you have that list you could also shrink the list down by editing out parts you already have. You can then hit a button to take your pieces list to Bricklink which is an easy button to order all the pieces you need from sellers. If you wanted to use Pick-a-brick you certainly can, but it lacks an easy list feature to upload and you have to manually select each brick you want. You may save money using Pick-a-brick but it also may bot have every single piece you need, although I bet it has moat if not all
Wow impressive job really fun to see your work I thought I had that version but its the previous one I think the 2015 (shuttle tydirium with Han, Leia rebels) Do you think I could do the same modifications? I gotta say, I’m not a fan of a lot of the newer molds Lego is putting out (curved pieces are trash), but the 2x2 jumper plate is ridiculously GOATed and Lego should have created it DECADES ago.

I'm definitely going to buy the instructions for this an make it myself (once I'm done with my own MOC pile of shame). Ummm hard to tell. If I were to guess at the moment I think getting the set after market may be a good option, if you don’t mind buying a cheaper set without minifigs would be especially cheaper. The original figs were kinda mediocre too, the pilot was the best
really awesome! I did my own modification for this set to remove the "chin" and it looked a whole lot better after that. Though my goal was to work only with the pieces provided. Your additions to the set have made it look so much better and, as you said, improves on a mediocre set.
