_Utahraptor_ is oddly lanky compared to other reconstructions that I’ve seen of it. It’s rather unique looking actually.
It’s proportions look like a tyrannosaurs’
Most of the more "slim" Utahraptor reconstructions are now outdated, a more bulky version that we see ij the video is better.
It actually is unique among dromaeosaurs due to it having tyrannosaurian proportions, being very bulky and large-headed compared to other dromaeosaurs.
probably because of its bulkiness and weird jaw shape
@@TheHedgehogEnthusiastThe problem is the version in the video isn’t bulky enough
I'm Deinonychus antirrhopus, and I approve of this video.

Thank Dino Dana for introducing me to the Sinornithosaurus
lol yeah.
Sad to know.. They aren't venomous after all

@@shawkihill7525 yep, thats what intrpduced me too!
I like that you know of large birds losing plumage near the neck and face, like an emu and a condor.
@Jayden Tran that's also true.
@@TheLazyFusspot_3428 yeah
Where you there than? if that's true than why don't lizards snakes crocodiles and turtles have feathers?
@@MichaelK-hw6mo 😒😒
i like how the small ones look A LOT like just giant birds with teeth (which makes sense to me) and the big ones look more.... rex like . i find that nice.
Oh my gosh, the raptors are different, but in a good way of coarse. Keep up the good work
By far the most underrated dinosaur family, and I’m happy you made them distinct from each other with different patterns feathers, and more
“Underrated” 💀
@@joeyjonquantaviusjr9927 fr 💀
And my personal favorite.
And also one of the most diverse family
Bruh underrated ya mean overrated
Good to see you back also my favorite is Dakotaraptor
That is the best utahraptor art I ever saw good job
OMG its a realistically feathered (and not overly feathered overheating) Utahraptor! THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I never see anyone depict utahraptor like this and annoys me so much, because it makes way more sense for utaraptor to have less feathering than things like velociraptor just because its a lot, lot bigger, and we know bigger birds have less feathers, like ostriches, but even more so, we know this is the case for ornithomimus! Which is even smaller than an ostrich! So in my opinion its kinda ridiculous to depict dinosaurs as large as a utah (and in a warm environment like that of utahraptor) as fully feathered or with super long shaggy feathers.
Also also, NO HEAD FEATHERS! Thank you, from birds we can tell that any bird that eats large carcasses doesnt have feathers on most of it face at least, aka vultures, maribou storks and rooks. So dinosaurs that ate in a similar way, like larger dromaeosaurs would also most likely have lacked feathers on their heads.
The only reason its the norm to depict raptors with feathered faces is because of one genus, Zhenyuanlong, which is closely related to velociraptor, had a feathered face, which is in my opinion is kind of a ridiculous assumption because thats an animal in a completely different niche to something like utahraptor, even to velociraptor looking at its environment, and even if the basis of them being closely related is used, then that a huuuge stretch. Seen as utharaptor and Zhenyuanlong really arent that closely related. But also every depiction ever seems to ignore the fact that the original fossil lacked feathers on its back legs, like a lot of large birds today, and if we're using the same logic with facial integument, other large dromeosaurs should be depicted with featherless legs... but theyre not.
Seems people like to pick and choose which aspects they want, which is the opposite of a paleoartists job, theres artistic liberty, but not when your job is to depict a creature as accurately as the science can tell us, rather than ignore parts of it for personal aesthetic. Its almost like theres a pro-feathers bias in paleoart nowadays, which is so unbelievable hippocritical towards the anti-feather brigade that those kinda paleoartists have a go at (even though a scaly t-rex has never been inaccurate, and dont get me wrong those nostalgia drunk cry babies really need to get some perspective but still). Instead of going with their own personal bias, artists should depict a creature accurate to the knowledge we actually have (and common sense inferences from basic ecology and anatomy of modern animals (birds dont like blood clots stuck in their feathers), so, u know... do their job lol
But dude, i bloody love you right now, THIS is probably so close to what utahraptor did look like!
But if I could have it my way Id have less feathers on austroraptor because of its size, and at least less feathers on the face of deinonychus, achilobator and dakotaraptor. And maybe more camouflage esque patterning on achilobator. And probably less feathers on the legs of deinonychus upwards
But this is great work!!!
@@jaisanatanrashtra7035 they should be like that
@@jaisanatanrashtra7035 read my comment. There shouldn't be feathers on the face, it doesnt make sense for an animal with a lifestyle like utahraptor given what we know about birds. And the tip or the snout definitely shouldn't be feathered, all known raptors with full feathering had bare snouts, almost looked like a beak. But Utahraptor makes more sense to not look like that
@@flightlesslord2688 I'm not talking about feathers they are appropriate 👍
But the Jaw looks like weird it doesn't have the lips of a Komodo 👎
It's just a speculation no need to get serious about it
@@mhdfrb9971 2 years ago bud. I chilled out, especially after Mark Witton made a blog post agreeing with what I thought lol
Huh. Nice approach with the Utah. I’ve been hearing that naked heads are not terrible inaccurate, but who knows. Also, I love how most of them have yellow heads!
It's perfectly possible that some raptors had a naked turkey like head and neck
Feathering in birds varies immensely depending on the species. We can expect to see a similar amount of variation in dromaeosaurs.

Pensaba que el buitreraptor era más grande, mi favorito fue el achillobator.
These vids are awesome💓It is so great to follow how the dinosaurs are evolving in front of our eyes. Just compare the Jurassic park Velociraptor with the real deal..! It is like comparing a hundred year+ ago version of Iguanodon to what we have now..! All the ancient animals are teaching us new things all the time with our will to learn. Once they thought that Diplodocus was too heavy to live on the land, but now they have fossils of the sauropods more than three times bigger than it... And the lizzary body of the sauropods have become steady, handsome, strong and proud. Man is nowadays much more technically equipped, humble and accurate examining ancient things. We respect the history even if we yet will always have conflicts with each other. We are curious and willing to go deeper into facts. We still have to be more radical but also more accurate with our growing population using the resources of the earth, but the first thing we did going from Europe to Africa today wouldn't be killing all the wildlife and posing on their bodies with rifle and smoking cigar..!? I can't say what the things will be a hundred years from now. We are evolving in good and bad- that's for certain. Meanwhile I hope us to reach more wisdom, peace and more those so exciting fossils!!! I have read from some science mags that we are living the golden ages of the fossile discoveries. And when I look around then there is no doubt about it that it must be so🦴👀💯
Dude, i *love* your PaleoArt content, you inspire me a lot. Keep working 'cuz there's people that admires you... *No sé porque hablo en inglés si sé que hablas en español, pero ya ta ;) .*

The dakotaraptor looks absolutely beautiful!
Fantastic! 👏👏
Fun fact Dakotaraptor was bigger than utahraptor and there was a possible new biggest raptor
I love you arts. I am a big fan I already showed my drawings but I was ignored
I love the deinochys

Make a vídeo pterosaurs and put the tupandactylus in it please
My favorite of the Raptor or feathered dinosaurs are:
Utahraptor, Velociraptor, Dromaeosaurus and Microraptor
Pero qué herrmosura de dromaeosaurus...
Podrías hacer un video sobre aves prehistóricas del mezosoico y el cenozoico me gustaría ver al dodo y el confiusosornis
algún día
so Dakotaraptor is the closest in size to jurassic park raptors, and utahraptor is the closest in appearance
cool
That utahraptor is the closest you can get to a featherless raptor without becoming inaccurate
I love this video. Could you also make one about the Troodontids? :)
Ese Achillobator si que es aterrador
Vídeo incrível !! É vc que faz essas músicas de fundo ?
Wonder why the Utahraptor had a head like a Jurassic Park Velociraptor.
A lot of the larger Dromaeosaurids did have quite boxy JP raptor like heads tbh, you shave something like dakotaraptor you’d get a similar effect.
Blue Robot Cat actually no, they went for deinonychus and called it Velociraptor because it sounded cooler, even keeping the species name. Utahraptor wasn’t discovered until much later, and is like 3 times the size of the JP raptor with completely different body proportions
Blue Robot Cat the JP velociraptor is around 3 to 5 meter long, and 6-foot tall, with a rather light build making it slightly bigger than deinonychus while utahraptor is 6 to 7 meters long, very heavily built with a large head and chest. You could literally ride a utahraptor it’s that big
@@jaisanatanrashtra7035 JP/W raptors weight around 150 kg (according to Jurassic World Wiki, since there isn't a better source) and the biggest one - Blue weights 226 kg. Utahraptor reached up to 500 kg and was longer than any Jurassic franchise "Velociraptor". JP/W raptors are much skinnier in comparison to it. Also it's quite clear that in the movie none of the Raptors has a 60 cm long skull. Plus Utahraptor was not described until the same year in which the first movie came out, so I can guarantee you that JP raptors are not based on Utahraptor.
@@Andrey.Ivanov Wouldn't the Dakotaraptor then be the closest to the Jurassic Park raptors?
Love it

Velociraptor is my favorite dinosaur 🦖

I can you please do a size comparison of oviraptorrids?
Uhhh nope
A new raptor was recently discovered, Ypupiara Lopai.

Good afternoon Mario, you launch your velociraptor is very perfect but the small horns that have the head are bad but your velociraptor is fine :)
Awesome description for the Dromaeosaurids (aka Raptors).
Just one nit pick: why does everyone keep forgetting about the South American Megaraptor? That thing was easily the largeat raptor (26 ft in length).
despite the name, Megaraptor is not a dromaeosaur
@@MarioLanzas. Uh-huh, yes, I figured it out. His giant claw grew on his hands. He was more related to Allosaurids.
Thanks.👍
@@MarioLanzas. yeah because the synonym -raptor is used alot in in dinosaurs like dromaeosaurs and allosauroid
@@Algeriawindows69 It is also used in oviraptorosaurs and moderns birds of prey.
What I don't get about most of the dinosaurs are the fact the group they belong to come from later members of the family, like tyrannosauridae named after the tyrannosaurus, and the dromaeosauridae here after the dromaeosaurus. Was it because these were discovered early or something?
*If* they were still around, would ride the dakotaraptor, achillobator, and austroraptor, maybe the utahraptor even.
i love utahraptor beacause it's a biggest dromaeosaurid
Microraptor: oooh look at me I have wings on my legs!
Changyuraptor: AAAAAAANNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDD?!?!?!

Hey Mario lanzas, The Microraptor is the smallest dinosaur and dromaeosaurid.
Me who has been used to The Isle Austro: 👁👄👁
been wanting to ask a question to an actual paleo expert (or something like that), is dakotaraptor valid? A lot of sources say it's a chimera
That's up for Debate It's mainly considered a "Chimera" Because a Turtle Wishbone likely got mixed up during fossilization and not to mention preservation bias
I know it’s wrong and stupid but I like to think of think of Dromaeosauridae as a part 1 to the Megaraptora xD since the Megaraptora were, obviously, mega. 😂
