The amx 30 super is not THE best premium, but it can still get the job done even nowadays. It will always be a favorite for me.
Ya I agree, the worst part in my experience is probably its dart. The dart seems inconsistent in its damage
I have a lot of respect for this vehicle, as it was the backbone of my french grind, but i feel like 9.0 is a good BR for it to sit at imo.
yeah with 9.0 u can bring atleast brenus xD, and safely stockgrind the mephisto
Fun fact about the heat shell, it should act more like heatfs, as historically, the french designed a special heat shell where the inner part with the penetrator dosent spin together with the outside part
It is heatfs but not stabilized with fins but rather spining, thanks to a grooved canon which was used on french tanks

Meh, the mtca is in a worse situation. 9.0, no thermals and a slightly worse shell.
9.0 thermals are not super common, and if they do they are bad. its not a big downside

@@Chronesyskhalid, tam 2ip, many others and most tech tree vehicles dont get thermals . t72 doesnt at 9.3, leo 2k doesnt at 9.7. having no thermals at 9.0 isnt bad
About the HEAT not being a HEAT-FS, just here to say, that in all intents and purposes and purposes, the french 105 HEAT acts exactly like a HEAT-FS. It has the flight path of a HEAT-FS, as it relies on gyroscopic stabilization, while keeping the high penetration of the HEAT-FS by haviubng a counter rotating core to keep the full penetration effect of the HEAT
Yeah as much as I want the french to have some decent premiums, but they have a combo of tanks that either can't fit into the meta well (unstabilized amx-30's) and overtiered tanks. At least the somua is pretty great right now.
There are a bunch of stabilized amx-30s. Not to mention there is a another axm-32 and two amx-40s that could be added.

@@yamatokurusaki5790 : I spaded the Japan 9.0-9.7, i think japan is bit good, coz at 8 u have stab and better ammo penn, compare to french no stab at all at 8. gimiccky ammo penn and the funny things, ONLY MEPHISTO got that stab xD at that BR

I got 900 kills in this to get all the tanks to the last leclerc and all I have to say is it’s fast, agile, and has absolutely no armour so bassicly it’s a light tanks while being slower than every light tank in the game

Yeah, I've been saying the AMX-30's all need to go down in BR. They're outclassed by IFV's, which can shred the tank's light armor, and are faster.
I think it should be 8.7 or 9.0, here is my explanation:
im a brit main and i play lot of british tanks because they are very good, and ive been playing the Olifant Mk2, and its also 9.3, except it has actual armor where it can survive some hits to the cheeks, the UFP is good against autocannons, has gen 2 thermals for gunner, and commander, which has a very high viewpoint, so you can peek over hills easily without being hit, with GEN 2 thermals... very good... and then there is DM63 105mm with 430mm pen.
Armor front: Turret 200mm NERA, Hull UFP 100mm NERA
Sights 3x 8x gunner, commander 2x 8x
when it changed to 9.3 it went completely destroy this tank , u always get uptierred, and ur backup for medium only amx32, amx32 105, or if u wanna go wild use amx 30 dcaa as medium tank xD, and yeah goodluck with CAS, die by strela sim
Due to strike drones I stopped playing up to about 8.7 max. Since the last round of BR changes I stopped playing beyond 6.7, except for 10/10.3. Gaijin are pruning back on playable BRs. Simplifies things greatly.
When i bought this i remember it being the best top tier premium. Oh how times change...
This tank is amazing what
Braindead take. 30 Supers main draw is the nutty mobility. It also has a decent 105 shell and gun handling. The only major issue with the tank is the ammo stowage in the turret that can be shot before you get your gun over a hill.
Except there's nothing outstanding about its mobility at the current BR, and the introduction of so many wheeled and light vehicles has left it behind.

I have it for almost a year and I can say that it is fast and weirdy-frenchy survivible.
The reason why the AMX-30 was never fitted with gun stabilization is simply budget related. In the late 70s and 80s, adding stabilization as part of upgrade packs for the AMX-30 was strongly considered, but the French Army suffered painful budget cuts and they chose to neglect their tank force. It's also for that reason that they never bought the AMX-40 and that the Leclerc was only introduced in service in 1992. It's absolutely not because they thought that gun stabilization was useless or not needed.
It’s still very good in my opinion. Maybe it can go for a slightly better round, but overall it’s agile and quite good.
I find the worst premium at this BR is the Type 74G still. Although it went from hot garbage to decent with engine changes.
It is bad and they still pushed it to 9.3 japan suffer ..
I wanted to buy it to grind japan, is it really that bad?
@@tsigahn6509 You are better off with the type 16 fps. Type 16 FPS is a blast to play if you know how to flank and snipe/abuse gen 3 thermals. It is the most responsive wheeled vehicle I've ever played vs wma301/wolfpack.
Type 74 G i think it's a bit good compare to AMX30 Super, coz the penn
and for japan 9.3 at least u have wheeled light tank, like TYPE 16 P in reguler tech tree, compare to french no light tank at all, ooh yeah u can bring AMX 10 RC but yeah goodluck without stab xD
Be honest it's hot garbage, mediocre and doesn't excell at anything...but it's the only viable option for france
Same BR as the A1A1 L/44 and the swedish prem 1A5. Both of those are snipers, which the AMX can still do fine. But the AMX is faster, can sometimes take a hit and yeah. I dont have it myself but from what I can see from test drives + my experience with the top tier of other nations, the AMX should b completely fine

I got the amx 30 super on sale and got later the vbci premium and the santal it's a good 9.3 deck that is fun to play and well suited to grind the french techtree I would recommend everyone these 2 premiums

Killed one of these recently in an 11.7 game. Felt real bad about that.

You cant reliably take out medium tanks in the VBCI and its pretty big, but if you play to its strengths around that Br with scouting and supporting team mates then you can at least rack up some nice scores with it.
Its not, it has not good enaught pen and not good armour as well (it feals Like big and worse puma) as much as i dont like Super, i would gladly recomand to buy it rather than that Light trash

i have seen many people who played the VBCI and they all said that it is a sh*t IFV.
Honestly this tank is amazing when played as a weird flanker i normally will get 3 or 4 kills if im not seen or hit first. Honestly kinda bad tho comparably to other tanks out there in general

From my exprience, not at all bro, this tank really2 hard to use, coz the penn so bad, it's almost impossible to 1 shot any tank, and u will easily get killed, the turret armour so bad, compare to TYPE 74G, better penn, atleast the turret have armour, amx30 only suprass type 74g in accel, the rest are bad

Yes the only good things about Type74G are the 405mm pen , thermals , turret armor is debatable but it is not bad , the numenic suspension
Type74G i think they actually better it now cuz it feels like the turret turns faster and the engine pushes harder

in japan 9.0-9.3 : u got type 16p, type 89, 2 type 74 with same ammo like premium only without thermal , u have many answer for relaible ground to ground frags, let's compare it to french
in french 9.0-9.3 u got 1 amx 30 super +a mx 32 105 ( both of these tank got xhitty penn, so unreliable ), amx 32, only 1 decent medium with decent amo = amx 32, and IMO only 1 tank for reliable ground to ground frags

In my opinion, the AMX-30 Super is a very good premium tank, fast, with good penetration and good reverse speed.
It can be said that a typical mbt, certainly much better than VBCI-2.
Of course, it's not the best but it's still quite good, even better than the Leopard 1a1 L44, which seems to be slower. The significant difference between the two is that the Leopard 1 can more or less take a turret shot and survive, while the AMX-30 Super will most likely die. Another difference is the difference in penetration, but it's not a huge one and it doesn't really matter.
There are definitely worse premium tanks like OF-40 (MTCA), Leopard 1A5NO slower than AMX-30 Super, has a slightly better shell, generally it doesn't change anything, Khalid which has the same br and has no thermal vision, Type 16 (FPS ) is theoretically a little better, but in my opinion it has a weak shell. There are price differences, but no one is forcing you to buy premium vehicles at full price.
I would even add that the XM-1 is comparable to the AMX-30 Super, in general the XM-1 is a bit better and that's a fact, it has a better rate of fire and mobility and has the theoretical ability to take a HEAT round without damage, although it also has the same disadvantage as the AMX- 30 Super, i.e. the ammo stack in the turret and a weak shell, as in the Type 16 (FPS).
Still, I wouldn't call the AMX-30 a super weak premium tank, just average, but definitely not weak and worse than the rest.

After all, the Type 74G is not a bad premium vehicle either, its great advantage is the projectile, but it is quite slow and does not have a good reverse.
The Leopard gun is much better though..the Amx is very fast but that usually only makes you die very fast

I have this awful thing, and i wish i don't. I hate it.
Not because of it's performance, not because it's french, but because of that lighthouse on top of the turret.
Everything that shoots it there, blows the ammo up. It really doesn't matter what shell hits it.
Even then, i recently had a pretty good match in it.

I can see your point, but as I show in the video pretty clearly, the AMX compares poorly to the XM1 in both gun handling and mobility; with the only AMX W being the sabot

I'm sorry but this video sound so anti French that it clouds your judgement. Even though it should have stayed at 9.0, the 9.3 is not that big of a issue since this tank (Like Leo and XM1) bets on speed. The rant about armour and ammo layout is completely unnecessary because no other comparable premium tank has a good armour or ammo layout. Most of this video really sounds like skill issue...

i was foolish and bought a1a1 and super an i did a bad thing a1a1 is ok but super is shit. i should have bought type74 g because it is superior 9,0 premium
I don't think that's true at all.
74G is actually incredibly harder to play compared to the super.
74G is at the very bottom of the tier list of all premiums XD, the 30b has at least mobility, the 74G is just bad overall

quick thing, the french had a form of stabilization which stabilized the sight and the gun could only fire when it properly lined up which gaijen of course didnt implement. its sort of like that but im not fully certain so somone please correct me
