If you are the best you don't need to say it every 5 minutes other people will talk about how you are the best. The fact that every country doesn't is a clue
Not every country thinks they are the best. Almost no country in Europe thinks that of themselves. Instead they recognise that no country in the world is the best.
That's not fair, USA is a clear winner for number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defence spending. Oh and they have produced more serial killers than the rest of the world combined.

@@Denz2799 I can't remember. The part about serial killers is not from a movie though. There was a study carried out a few years back, the FBI found out that America is by far the world leader in serial killers. Scary huh.
Chalky Von Kekian You don’t need to leave your country to realise it isn’t the greatest country - see the stats in this video that show empirically that it isn’t the the greatest country.
No, it's made by people who need your vote or your approval! Like politicians and TV personalities! They say this to get you fired up so you'll vote for them or watch their show!
Jup, compare that to the rest of the world........No defensive use of guns and still a much lower homicide rating. Guns are for killing, idiots use it for killing. America has enormous amounts of idiots, hence their view on guns.
Conman 1016 , Then why does the USA have a higher homicide rate per capita than EVERY SINGLE one of 50 European countries, except for Russia and Ukraine (which is in a civil war)? More defensive uses of guns, BECAUSE MORE PEOPLE HAVE GUNS! DUH! More people have guns, more people die from guns, more people use guns to defend themselves. What is important is that the net result is a obscenely high for a supposedly 1st world country death rate.
Andrew Grove I find that in the gun debate it comes down to one simple question. You either believe that the second amendment means what it says or you don’t.
Jeffries wants Americans to admit his attitude about it is right. He doesn't care or want you to find out your own observations on how it is deficient.
Yeah, well, I was born and raised in Australia and all I heard growing up was how Australia is the greatest country in the world. Then I moved to Canada and over 33 years all I heard was how Canada is the greatest country in the world. Of course, the next door neighbour (U.S.A. for those uneducated Americans who don't know their geography) was yelling about how they're the greatest country in the world. Now I live in Spain and no one says it's the greatest country in the world but all my medical is free, my drugs (I'm diabetic) are a fraction of what I paid in Canada and the food is high quality and cheap. It's a long way from being the greatest country in the world but at least they're not spouting a bunch of ignorant bullsh*t and making uneducated and unrealistic claims. Viva España.
Simplicitas Well when I lived in Turkey and England, I got to travel around Western Europe. I went to Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Belgium, and lots of others. Also, Ecuador isn’t the worst country in South America, Turkey isn’t the worst country in Asia/Middle East, and England isn’t the worst country in Europe.
@@meganstevefrost7326 You just proved the point exactly by being illiterate, belligerent and supporting bullying. When everyone around is saying you're being an asshole at the party, you'd better go and check your trousers aren't ripped. If you really consider it normal to brag about being the best you are exactly the problem we're all talking about.
It feels like Americans are babied by their leaders/Media etc. The rest of the world are more serious in terms of their media and politicians etc. whilst Americans are simply told they're amazing and their media overhype everything. You ask a Brit if their country is great and they'd sarcastically say it's shit, because we aren't so arrogant as to think we're better than everyone else...
Well you haven't talked to many brexiteers have you? The superiority complex is very evident. Nothing that won't be fixed by a decade of economic stagnation while the european neighbours continue to improve.
I think it depends on who you talk to. History has a funny way of repeating itself. Many Brits back in the day (e.g. 70 years ago) believed they were the best. But like Jim said, every empire crumbles down. America is falling (or at least is very evident now that it's a falling "empire"), and I think a lot of the educated younger folks understand that. Much like the way many middle aged brits will make fun of their own country. Additionally, I think the "babying" occurs at a more insidious and deeper level: along with the media, it starts in primary school. Here in the US, we're told starting from preschool about how great this country is. Every. Year. When I was younger, we were made to say the pledge of allegiance every morning before we began our day. A lot of us heard many falsehoods about history--or at least watered down versions of it--that paint America as heroes to the world. That's slowly (too slowly) changing though in more educated parts of the US. The pledge of allegiance isn't said in classrooms anymore (according to my family members in grade school). Yet, many Americans are still in a deep state of denial. We deny the fact that we're failing in education, health, and economic equality. I pray that we own up to our history and our faults so we can actually change things around here and be the country we so often pretend to be. But again, as a dual citizen, I may have a slightly different perspective...
@@asuraXTC Just because China's number can't be trusted doesn't mean they have the highest number lol all you can say is we don't know what their true number is (I doubt even Beijing knows), but then we don't know the true number in the US either.
Well to be fair my country is pretty much the same xd if you criticize the ridiculous privatization of basic services you get the good old "if you dont like it why dont you go live in Cuba ya fucking commie" I guess is just a common argument between conservatives, regardless of the country
As a society, we can't accomplish anything or make any progress, because of that attitude. Each time we try to address issue, we do get told to "go live somewhere else." It's kind of like a preschool fight.... Except these are full-grown adults saying this crap.
Yes exactly, if you keep going around saying you're the best, then why would you try to fix anything? You have to admit that problems exist if you're gonna do anything about them and actually make things better and perhaps move towards being the best. It's just more realistic that way.
Chalky Von Kekian "The US as a whole does try to fix things" [citation needed] "We have it a lot better here than anywhere else" Except every single stat in this video says otherwise.
best public schools dosnt mean best schools. and americas health care is top in the world, its just privatized and expensive but all the rich people who want to live come to america to have their operations done by the best surgeon's and doctors. that dosnt mean the average doctor is better or worse but that most of the top end surgeons and doctors come to america to practice medicine because they will be compensated well.
Chalky: The US is not the best on many metrics. Several countries beat the US in areas such as education, life expectancy, healthcare, and others. It's hard to claim the entire US does try to fix things when our current administration is very much doing the opposite. And it's not like people are saying we don't have any problems, it's a mindset issue. When you constantly tell yourself that you are the best, it will instill complacency. It's common for people to overcompensate and mess up when they get over confident. Besides, saying that the US is the best is just not correct. It's better to be more realistic. Oh and uh...maybe don't keep spreading nonsense like "blacks" killing each other at some outrageous rate. As someone who's studied these things in college, I can tell you that graphic is absurdly wrong. Matt: What does that really have to do with this? Yeah, "best" isn't the same as "perfect", but how would you even decide what counts as "perfect" in these areas? How would a country have "perfect education"? Or how about "perfect life expectancy"? So really, you're just missing the point. Thinking yourself the best (especially when you're not) doesn't mean you think yourself perfect, but it creates a sense of complacency, where you can easily rest on your laurels and let yourself slip. Perhaps you ought to learn a little nuance.

The countries with the truly highest standard of living are the ones where the distance between the poor and the rich is the smallest. Like Switzerland and Norway for example. Even the "poor" people there are well off by most standards. In America the difference is more extreme. Sure, you can be super rich there, but the poor ones are almost at third world levels. I'd rather pay a bit more taxes to ensure that most of my fellow countrymen have a decent education, healthcare, and all other things to keep a population happy and thriving, and thus less crime ridden. It just simply makes it a nicer place to live. Also a bit of Janteloven (The Law of Jante, look it up) really would help the American mindset to achieve this.

Agreed.honestly if I was poor or on the verge of homelessness in America. I would just buy a couple guns and become a bandit/criminal. Rather die a quick death then a slow one on the streets
USA is by far on top of the list in food waste the last decade in all statistics. In recent years you waste almost half of the food you buy... There's a nice No1 for you. Considering that in your country alone the rise of homeless people is exploding you are not decent enough to feed your soldiers that '' fought for you country'' and you let them roam in the streets to beg for dignity. Ofc not to mention that your country is presented as the ''savior'' in so many occasions but that is when there is money to be made, when you are able to exploit an opportunity. This is the defenition of blood money based on guns and war. THats a good boost on your GDP... Poverty around the world and hunger are big global issues but none of that is not your problem.... but hunger brought the coronavirus and so many other problems... No interest there e? No money to be made there... The No1 GDP in the world How pathetic and disappointing...
America is the only country where you can't be fined or put in jail for saying something offensive. The fact that free speech exits to the capacity that it does in the states warrants the title of "best."
Zachary Mogey Do you think other countries have prisons filled with people who said something offensive" I bet you are one of those people who loves having free speech, but thinks athletes who don't just shut up and play football should lose their jobs and be kicked out of the country.
Proud to be American, Proud to be Korean, Proud to be English... That all makes NO SENSE You can only be proud of your achievements, not of something you have no control of. Are you proud to like potato chips? Are you proud to wear size 11 shoes? No. You can be happy about it, but not proud.
That never made sense to me either. But these kind of group identities where one proud of someone achievements just because they are in same group is really irrational. It's there only because it strengthens social bond and group cohesion, not for some real logical reason. It's tribalism basically.

Im american, I know I am only 14, but im already having negative feelings towards my own country. We are very obsessed with calling ourselves the best in the world LITERALLY because we won a couple wars and gained freedom, we act like nobody has ever thrown a revolution and gained freedom. America’s education is terrible. We have the same school system from the 1850’s. Yes, many people in America are amazing people, but online i have met amazing people too from India, Britain, India, and Ireland. They seem to have negative opinions of us because of how we think. America is not the best, and it probably will not be for a very long time. The people here are very ignorant. Protesting because a cop killed a black man. They forget many white people have been killed as well, I mean American citizens are protesting the quarantine! Anyway, I have very negative opinions on America and the way it is ran.
Don't get depressed bro, you are just 14 and i'm sure you'll be part of a great future for your country. Actually, what it's happening to your country right now is viewed with respect by us in Europe, of course we condemn violence and looting, but it's not just a protest for a black man killed by a cop. 2 days ago another black man was also killed like a dog by another cop, obviously there are also whites who die (as in the siege of Waco, ruby, etc.), But the reason for this protest is that the your country is racist from its roots, and this requires to be changed drastically and definitively
I like your way of thinking, to question commen opinions at 14 is pretty impressive, and yes i also think its not about racism its a capitalistic system problem because the poor are held down. If that would change, everything would change. Its just false to hide the real problem behind the racist sign.
Well I'm really glad you're smart, you're thinking for yourself and you have humility. Cheer up son, maybe someone like you can contribute to its greatness in the future. :) But my advice (as a Brit), is def go and travel other countries, if you can. xx

Except it’s mainly used for offence. You could defend the USA more than adequately on 10% of what you currently spend. Of course, you’d need to cut out all the rip-offs and featherbedding in your MIC.
Well to sum it up ......USA was certainly and clearly the no.1 after the WW2 but just after 1952(Korean war) ...... the supremacy of US was severely challenged as the sole superpower who can do whatever it want but not in East Asia, Russia and almost in all of south America ! Things got worse after Vietnam war and only got some respite after 1990 when Soviet block came crumbling down and US got a good decade to enjoy as the sole surviving superpower but things changed again after 9/11(2001) , when US began to waste lot of time, money , resources even of its allies (Europe , Aus, NZ , UK, Canada etc. with others) . Things again started to change just after 2010, when China became 2nd biggest economy in the world and began challenging US here and there and Russia got the much needed time to heal itself up from the great losses ! Now ! It is not even 2021 yet .....but ......Donald Trump is not making things easy for the US especially in the long run because now each and every country is preparing its own plan to survive against the possibility of rouge and certainly not friendly US state ! The future upcoming generation of US will not find the world not as much welcoming /trustworthy or any credible partner state (except Canada or UK maybe ) or anything based on friendship or on emotions because they are dead now in the dust of money and greed !

As an American who has lived in three different countries, I can honestly state that the U.S. is the best at certain things and mediocre at many others. Quality of life is better in Spain and Italy as people truly know how to live. However, I'd much rather receive medical care in the U.S. than Spain or Italy. I could go on forever, but the point is, there is no Shangri-la.

#1 in gun deaths and incarcerations
Andrew Grove about 12,000 homocides but 500,000 to 3,000,000 defensive uses of guns
What is important is that the net result is a obscenely high for a supposedly 1st world country death rate.
and #1 in presidents sucking off Putin.

Sheeps Wool yeah Brits aren't arrogant at all...
Your liberal BS nearly made me vomit!
Sheeps Wool, even more surprising is the selfless tactical retreat into their own UK, instead of bugging the next door neighbours.
Exactly why the USA will never improve. Ego over fact.

Yes exactly, if you keep going around saying you're the best, then why would you try to fix anything? You have to admit that problems exist if you're gonna do anything about them and actually make things better and perhaps move towards being the best. It's just more realistic that way.
being the best dosnt mean perfect. learn some nuance
Matt Davis But best does mean to be the best at education and health and other things like that. Which we are not
Chalky Von Kekian "The US as a whole does try to fix things" [citation needed]
"We have it a lot better here than anywhere else" Except every single stat in this video says otherwise.
best public schools dosnt mean best schools. and americas health care is top in the world, its just privatized and expensive but all the rich people who want to live come to america to have their operations done by the best surgeon's and doctors. that dosnt mean the average doctor is better or worse but that most of the top end surgeons and doctors come to america to practice medicine because they will be compensated well.

Well America gave us kiss and gene and Paul for sure think this is the best country in the world. It’s still the land of opportunity sure it isn’t perfect but it’s the place to make something of yourself if you want to
I guess it's all a matter of interpretation when saying you've got a Reasonable Standard of Living while half the population lives below the poverty line.
But indeed, from ALL the countries, you're not the worst. There's heaps of developing third world nations that are doing worse.
You are awesome!!
legalize cannabis pay for healthcare with that
LMFAO ma bad..that shit came out wrong. Trump is a bitch tho.
Jc JA Trump is pure evil he is not a racist but he knows how to use racist people he uses them for their vote evil is knowing that you're doing evil and you still doing it
stop the 8 wars, literally will have enough $ to fix every single problem in this country. but yea legalize it too haha
NATIVE latinos fucktrump Hmm..to a certain point I might agree. Im from the Od'odham nation AZ reservation between AZ and Sonora. So it's "(evil is knowing that you're doing evil and you still do it)"
History fact.
By European immigrants moral standards during their genocidal invasion to these land due to their beliefs (Christianity) it was OK to bring to extinction many tribes, and push Christianity with torture methods. It seams as is moral standards depends on who it is and what color or ethnicity he/she belong to. Evil depends on how you see it and the moral standards of that society you live in. Something we see as evil might be something great and "good" in another place.
Jc JA evil is evil bro PSdid you know the Spaniards in Spain were conquered by the Arabs and Moors for 800 years from 711 to 1492 Spaniards are not Caucasian they are Arabs and Moors
Guy murrica is nice and all, but look around and see how you can make yourselves better, just saying
goonymiami fucking thank you. I'm so tired of idiots who just shout, America is the greatest country, any criticism means you automatically hate America and you're anti-freedom or some stupid shit. If you really love this country the way you say do, I think you should try to make it better
The people who say we are #1 will never let that happen.
Any man who must say I am the king is no true king.
He switched to drunk so convincingly, I thought he was plastered on air!
I remember the time I was young and wanted to move to the US cause of Hollywood and "The American Dream" but after I grew up I really do not want to even visit anymore. I live i Norway, and you would have to drag me by the hair and chain me from the back of a plane to leave this place for a country like 'Murica. Im sorry for what you have become.
All I got from this video is: 'Not only are we the best at absolutely everything, we are also humble'
Actually, what it's happening to your country right now is viewed with respect by us in Europe, of course we condemn violence
and looting, but it's not just a protest for a black man killed by a cop. 2 days ago another black man was also killed like a dog by another cop, obviously there are also whites who die (as in the siege of Waco, ruby, etc.), But the reason for this protest is that the your country is racist from its roots, and this requires to be changed drastically
and definitively
I like your way of thinking, to question commen opinions at 14 is pretty impressive, and yes i also think its not about racism its a capitalistic system problem because the poor are held down. If that would change, everything would change. Its just false to hide the real problem behind the racist sign.
Well I'm really glad you're smart, you're thinking for yourself and you have humility. Cheer up son, maybe someone like you can contribute to its greatness in the future. :) But my advice (as a Brit), is def go and travel other countries, if you can. xx
Manuel Bänziger thank you, and to me it’s obvious, theyre hiding the real issues and labeling them “racist” it doesnt do anything but make it worse
Fieryheadedgirl I plan to travel when im older. Ive heard places like Wales, Germany, and Britain are all great places, ill be looking into them
“You don’t want immigrants stop telling them how great it is” lmao
Jimmy, you make me smile the way Bill Maher makes me smile.
Helth care in morocco is better than the us wow
I live in the Netherlands, and we all think it's pretty funny that the USA keeps saying this. Not to be arrogant, but we have it pretty amazing over here. One of the happiest countries on earth and in many ways objectively better. LOTS of countries do many things way better than you do, and that's okay America. Enjoy what you have and accept that there are many things to improve.
That song made my day bro 🤣🤣
- Jim, you must become the next US president!
- But I am not into politics and fighting for US World supremacy...
- Jim! That is why it MUST be you!
Number one for Defence spending overall?
Except it’s mainly used for offence.
You could defend the USA more than adequately on 10% of what you currently spend. Of course, you’d need to cut out all the rip-offs and featherbedding in your MIC.
Shit talk from people in the countries that beg for military aid lol clueless asshats!
James Kerr "Defence"
Finally someone said It on the megaphone!
YES America is really NUMBER ONE.
Because it has the best people.
Ranked 56th in the list of freest countries and falling.
I think if we want people to stop hating our guts we need to stop chanting "we're #1!" and start chanting "we're #3 at best!"
#1 of % of adults that think that Angles are real
#1 in % of citizens in jail
#1 in spending for defence, where US spends more then next 26 countries combine, while 25 of them are US ally.
To be fair I believe in angles too.
Angles are real, angels* are not. / more than* the next 26 countries combined. 25 are US allies*.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 you understood what I wanted to say 😎
By the way, English is not my first language, so you can forgive me couple of words...
Yeah, some hyperbole but a number of other countries have their nationalism, even if broadcast just internally. It's a problem throughout the world of not remember we are all humans, not just a country label.
I hate to inform you all that Jim Jeffries is a total liar. That parking lot is actually a Trader Joe’s lot in Los Angeles (Palms & Sepulveda Blvd.). There is, however, a Burger King about a block south of there. It also has a large parking lot.
:)
One of Jim´s best videos. The song is great :)

Not gonna lie, legal weed and free speech is a pretty good combo. The multi cultural aspect is great too. I'm from Korea, but i love living in California. There's nothing like Santa Cruz or San Francisco in Korea.
SpaceManDawn I feel Korea is in a weird "place" in its history, it had an incredible economic boom and growth, technologically it's one of the most advanced countries in the world, but it's a very young democracy. So it has still to pick up the pace on some issues, especially on the civil rights side.
That's just my outsider opinion, looking at it for almost 4 years. I am italian and my girlfriend is korean, so I got to know Korea a bit (I also visited it twice). On some matter I think Korea is in the position Italy was 40-50 years ago (like on abortion for example). And actually Italy is not one of the most progressive countries in the world.
I really enjoyed my time there though, but I guess being a tourist is a completely different experience than being a citizen, that's true everywhere of course. Still I am planning to go there for an year 🇰🇷
They are still very far behind in what they consider to be domestic abuse too. I witnessed many horrible things from school teachers and abusive parents.
But, if you love to drink and eat, Korea is the place for you. Lots of great food and drunk times.
Dude, the Netherlands have freedom of speech and legal weed. Hell most of the western world has freedom of speech.
The Netherlands doesn't have California. I'm a pilot. I can live anywhere I want. Have you ever been to Santa Cruz? It's the most amazing place I've ever lived.
1) Time travel, as far as i know, is impossible
2) Santa Cruz is not LA
