This is their homage to growing up in NY in the early 80's and giving a shout out their early influences...did you notice Mike D playin the drums?
Thats def cool! & I just noticed that's lit!
@@OfficialLifeWithRecklezz they started playing all there own music in a punk band.
When I saw them live years ago (at elevation) they took a "break" to just play a twenty-minute set of their funk instrumentals. Geniuses!
Paying respect to the roots of hip hop
@@McGovney1286 named themselves Beastie Boys after Bad Brains. They really hit the instruments on this one after the pay for samples thing came about.
A lot of the video cuts are taken from the hip hop documentary Style Wars and the movie Wild Style.
Agree, I can't grasp how some people get annoyed at the person reacting pausing. It's not about watching the whole music video uninterrupted. Sure, you could watch the entire music video and then comment/react, but it's up to the channel owner to decide.
Tbf, I don’t think it’s pausing in general that gets on people’s nerves. It’s pausing to such a degree that the flow is lost.
This one hasn’t been that bad but his Paul revere reaction was unwatchable. He’d pause 3 times every 10 seconds of the song.
Personally, I expect pausing in every reaction video but those who do it well tend to pause maybe 3 times during the track and do most of their talking at the start and end. Or they pause after each verse to discuss.
Got no problem with that but thousands of random pauses makes both me and anyone hearing the track for the first time lose all context.
As an example, after he did the speech about ppl being pissed off about pausing, he played 12 seconds of the track which included only the lyrics “ad-rock, don’t stop c’mon” - before the next pause. At that rate that 18 pauses for this track...
Like I said, pausing is completely fine but I’d suggest there’s a limit to what’s tolerable.
@@goldboy150 I hear you. True.
Awesome breakdown my Man
Thank you!!
You should check out their song "Too many rappers", they made it with Nas, pure 🔥
No they do not make music like this anymore. Man!,This brings me back the best memories
Nice video!
check out Pass The Mic
cool video. jay z, nah i rather hear you do get it together with the beastie boys and qtip.
That's not them dancing. The song is pretty much all shout-outs to their influences and NY culture growing up with lots of clips from that era.
You're right about kids not getting this, most of their references are people that are old or dead. NY and music was a lot different 30 years ago, a golden-age for music. And Cardi B... is as musically deep as a plastic doll. Lots of great musicians today too, but they're harder to find and not mainstream. Mainstream stuff from the 90's was good, not like plastic fast-food top 40 today.
One thing you get with the beasties... a hip hop history lesson...
“On the way back up hearing battle tapes. From the underground underneath the skyscrapes. It’s like Harlem World Battles on the Zulu Beat Show. It’s Kool Moe Dee vs Busy Bee, that’s one you should know.” ...then I go listen to it on UA-cam. Haha.
They are also hip hop historians. I bet they know more about the OGs than most. They studied and learned from the OGs while they were making their way through the second wave of rappers.
Of course the Beasties were first on the dope Jimmy Smith sample. That Jimmy Smith record is 🔥.
The line is," ...oh my god that's the funky shit". The rewind effect was how they censored the curse word for MTV. It doesn't do that in the album version or live.
Vid was put on UA-cam in 09. Vid was made in 1994
if they wanna complain about how much you pause, they can go start their own channel and not pause 🤷🏼♀️
Facts!!
This song is one of their love letters to NYC. The video clips are from the early eighties, this song was recorded twenty years later. From around the time you were born, late nineties early thousands.
Released 1994
i miss the 90's
That’s what I’m talking bro! That’s why I watch reaction videos! If you don’t get feedback throughout the song I just assume you don’t like it
That was grandmaster flash, the god of all hip hop... how did you not know
Love Sanford & Son. "''Lizabeth, here comes the big one!"
You kinda look…..like Jay Z
Probably my favorite beastie boys song. *The original nasal kid is doing damage* such a classic line.
Sanford And Son is the greatest theme song in the history of tv. FIght me.
you talk to much
If u gave someone a million bucks in ones instead of 100 dollar bill, they would bitch!!!!! People gonna complain no matter what!!!!!! You do you buddy!!!!!
you should react to the Beastie Boys Shadrach -- the animated video. It's a great song and a mind blowing video.
Does anyone else expect the next three notes for sabotage at the end of this song? Your reaction style is great.
Don't worry bout that, just do what you do.
Glad u pick up on the little things like the "money makin" part! Thats one of my favorite parts and you're totally right about the vibe! ❤
Jay-Z with Linkin Park, Numb/Encore. ❤️🇦🇺
Check out the Beastie Boys Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction also two other groups to check out the LA Dream Team and the World Class Wreckin Cru
Still love the old school. Beasties, Run DMC, NWA.
U keep pausing the video as much as u want bruh...& That's right, if they want 2 watch the video, watch the video. This a reaction... do what u do
Song came out in 1995! Almost 30 years old and still a jewel...
yo, i dropped in cause i saw how young u look on ur thumb, i ain't even gonna check it all, ya'll to young, you don't know what you missed. lmao!!! beasties yo... ya'll. just. don't. know. alright, i'm well into my drink, i'll check it. don't be pause'n that shiz during the flow man lmao
OK, enough already! I know what you're saying!
Reck 1st off if I heard correct, I hope your family is healthier now.
2nd, No need to say sh*t about your style. You do you, if people r watching then it works. if they drop off, do what every other TV youtuber does, change ur wayrs and suck up or say F it, I still be me. And see who stays and comes back because of it.
IT'S A REACTION VIDEO... lol! Right on.
Yo! Can you react to the Beastie Boys - The New Style? It was off the legendary License to Ill album. I’ve seen only a handful of reactors do that song. But it could possibly be the first and best beat switches in hip hop history. All the OGs know what I’m talking about when the beat mmmmmm.... drops!!!
I enjoy the way you do your reactions
I can’t wait till you react to death bed by powfu and Black Lives Matter by Dax
Definitely on the way!!💯
Am glad to see a young cat appreciate the old school rap. I grew up w rap when it was just starting. Heard all the best stuff. Thais rap the last 10 years at least absolutely sucks. Nothing beats the old school
Sanford and Son was the best!
You like all that dancing. Then you need to react to the movie Beat Street. Also you might want to check out Wild Style.
We used to throw down them refrigerator boxes to make the ground slick for break dancin. good times!

A little back story, to help ya out. Beastie for Life 🤘

2009 is when MCA was diagnosed with cancer
GMF with the behind the back, no-look pass
Quincy Jones did the Sanford and Son theme music.
Sorry but the audio sucks.
Like ya but clean it up
You do you man. If wanna listen to the song i can stick it on. You got something to say then go ahead and pause. Great reaction man.
'94 lil homie
That "rewind" is edits for curse words.
Mad respect for giving love and respect to the Beasties and seeing you appreciate their flow and importance in hip hop history. I'm 51 and been listening to them since the first Cookie Puss release. I saw them live 3 times during their prime years. They were by FAR the most entertaining live musical act I've ever seen still to this day.
I am 53 so I feel ya.
Yeah Mike D is sick, looks a bit like Eminem in this vid too
And very rarely do you hear them cuss
I still watch Sanford and son
Congrats to both of you
TOOOOOO MANY STOPS AND STARTS....
Do a Jadiohead reaction….

lol. whenever my nieces’ kids are here i have them listening to eminem, the beastie boys, wu-tang, run-dmc, nwa, etc. when they go home their parents can play whatever they want, but here they get a good education 😉
at least my youngest niece has her 2-year-old listening to hopsin, logic, joyner, and tech n9ne along with the pop stuff and baby shark 😃
This track came out in 1996 which is when this video debuted on MTV.
Ha!! Sanford and Son. I hear it, too. 😄
Tom songs: Straight White Male, Politically Incorrect, I'm Corny
Yeah see! lol I grew up watching that! & Ive did the politically incorrect song, I haven't reacted to Im Corny or Straight White Male but def on the way!! 💯 ua-cam.com/video/MdlD32rkhNA/v-deo.html
@@OfficialLifeWithRecklezz Oops. I didn't see Politically Incorrect in the playlist. I watched it and even commented on it lol. My bad. 🤷🏼♀️
