IMO Massive Attack (and Portishead) is one of those musical acts that can cross genres and be appreciated by almost anyone who just loves good music. I was never really into the dance and acid scene of the 90s, I was a Grunge teen, but trip-hop has always inspired me.

This band is just incredible, every single song is pure gold and excitement. It will never fail to amaze me how they make tracks that are slow and fast at the same time 💓
Morcheeba is another trip-hop group that might be worth a listen, given your love for the bassline + amazing vocals combo. I recommend "The Sea" and "Never an Easy Way". Love your reactions, always!
Love Morcheeba. They were maybe a more sunny or poppy sound compared to some of the darker sounds associated with trip-hop. Skye has such a beautiful voice. Blindfold is a standout track of theirs for me.
I love Protection, I think it's my favorite song. Tracey is a goddess! the music video was directed by Michel Gondry (Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World)
Massive Attack really brings me to my happy place. As someone who’s also very lyrically driven when it comes to music, it’s surprising how much their music effects me since it’s usually the music that hits more. If you’re interested, you may want to check out another act that worked with them named Tricky. He’s got a similar style but a bit darker. Very cool.
Haha, you looked so confused. The outro of Unfinished Sympathy makes me so emotional, over and over again. The song was famous for being shot in 1 take. Man, this collective is a gem. Thanks for this video 🤍
Speaking of Everything But The Girl (which is Tracy Thorn and her life partner Ben Watt). They are releasing their first album in 27 years real soon. The video for the song "Nothing Left To Loose" is out now. Tracy's voice is a little husker, but still amazing.
Protection used to make me cry, and the switch of "I'm a girl and you're a boy" with "you're a girl and I'm a boy" always seemed nice to me, making it kind of universal... but that was years ago and I've since finally accepted what I knew for ages - that I'm trans... and have transitioned... and now it feels nicer, yet less emotional (like, I'm settled and comfortable in my feelings now, perhaps). Anyway, definitely a great track.

Directors: Angel* > Walter A. Stern (Madonna, Bowie, The Prodigy, Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails...) Protection > Michel Gondry (clips for Chemical Bros, Metronomy, White Stripes, Bjork... Films like Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind) Rising Son > Walter A. Stern Unfinished Sympathy > Baillie Walsh (Oasis, Kylie Minogue, INSX, Boy George...) * With the reggae legend Horace Andy. And a special data: The white guy in the band has been pointed as the man behind the street artist BANKSY.
*Massive Attack* hail from Bristol UK (it's also where i currently reside) home of *Banksy* (you may of heard of him) and another band not far from here that you should *really* check out (they were alongside *Massive Attack* and a few other bands labelled as 'trip hop' artists -don't ever call them that though, as it's despised) anyway *Portishead* (the band not the place, it's just outside Bristol) Oh, *Massive Attack* had to change their name in the states to just *Massive* (as they became popular just after 911). Attack was seen as being a bit too soon (i think it lost them popularity over there) anyway check out *Portishead* mate.👊
Black Milk and Group Four are two of my favorite, they feature Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins fame. Unfortunately they didn’t make music videos for those songs...
Massive Attack is one of those rare unique music phenomena that I can listen to whole albums and whos hits just become better with time.

what a cool video, i needed this
*Massive Attack* hail from Bristol UK (it's also where i currently reside) home of *Banksy* (you may of heard of him) and another band not far from here that you should *really* check out (they were alongside *Massive Attack* and a few other bands labelled as 'trip hop' artists -don't ever call them that though, as it's despised) anyway *Portishead* (the band not the place, it's just outside Bristol) Oh, *Massive Attack* had to change their name in the states to just *Massive* (as they became popular just after 911). Attack was seen as being a bit too soon (i think it lost them popularity over there) anyway check out *Portishead* mate.👊
Unfinished Sympathy is such an amazing time capsule
Black Milk and Group Four are two of my favorite, they feature Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins fame. Unfortunately they didn’t make music videos for those songs...
He was chasing away his demons in the first video, love your reactions brother❤️
Thanks! ❤
