Hi sir, Thank you so much for your videos. Your strategies helped me a lot to complete my cpc exam on time. I took my CPC exam for the first time through self preparation and today I got my results.I passed the exam with 85 percentage on my first attempt. Thank u so much for the videos sir😀

Hoang, my externship starts this week, I am beside myself with excitement because you have built up my confidence and I am ready for whatever gets thrown at me. I have been assigned to a doctors office that practices internal medicine, not far from my home... I will keep you informed. You and your family will be forever blessed for what you do Hoang, PLEASE DON'T STOP !
Hi David. I've never worked in a doctor office but I believe you can handle whatever get thrown at you just fine. Please give us an update how it goes. I am really excited for you that you are on the right path to become a good coder. I wish you all the best!
Great video with much valuable information! I, for one, would very much appreciate any videos you put out regarding ANYTHING regarding coding! You mentioned A & P and terminology...those are very important to know to be successful in coding--I would certainly be interested in watching them. Thank you again, for your time. We are very fortunate you are willing to share your knowledge/expertise in this field. Your dedication to this profession is evident.
This is the hardest section for me. So glad you have a video on it!! I take my cpc exam again this weekend. Hope to report back a passing grade after finding your teaching and elimination system.

Not sure about case 7, a glucose tolerance test is when a patient ingests a glucose load and the blood sugar is checked sequentially. Answer B fits better. Fasting glucose takes place when a patient gets one assessment of the glucose done after a prolonged NPO status.
Hi. That is my typo mistake; it is supposed to be 82951 for Glucose tolerant test. 82946 is GLUCAGON not GLUCOSE tolerance test. Sorry about the confusion. As long as you know the strategy then you are good because the real exam will not use the same codes as I use here in my video. I hope it helps.

Thank you so much sir, earlier I confused between qualitative and quantitative difference, after watching this vedio come to know. Once again thanks to giving knowledge to us.
Oh my goodness Thank you so much. I have been studying this, I get confused at times, so far I got all these correct! Yay, can you go into more detail? Are these questions similar to the CPC state test? I bought a seat for November. I am terrified right now, I literally have to pass this! I can't afford to re purchase these books, the hospital I work for does not supply any of our material. You are Amazing, I can follow and understand what you are teaching. Again thank you for spending your own time to help people like me! I appreciate You!
Hi Diana. You can do it. I believe these questions are very similar to the CPC exam. Even they are slightly different, using my tips and strategies, you still can handle it with ease. Please make sure you watch them all. I wish you the best of luck!
Doc you are awesome. The last case was kinda tricky with the glucose tolerance and the glucose quantitative, otherwise excellent cases to work with. Many, many, thanks. Leslyn
I'd like to challenge question #7 answer as a glucose tolerance test you drink a syrup and then they take your blood to see how high your glucose is. A fasting glucose means you have not eaten in several hours and what your glucose is like in the morning when you wake up before you eat. So I would say the answer is B. Please explain if I am wrong. Also love these videos you make coding very easy to understand.
Hi Christine, I made a typo mistake when I typed this code 82946 at 38:36. It is for GLUCAGON tolerance test and not a glucose tolerance test. That said, C is not a correct answer and as a result B is the correct choice. Thank you for pointing it out.
Thanks again for another great lesson. Your videos are a great help to me and I like the thought process that goes into it. Have a great holiday!!! :) :)
it is the same meaning of glucagon and glucose? 38:00 in my cpt 2020 manual 82946: Glucagon tolerance test 82947: Glucose; quantitative, blood (except reagent strip)
Hi Ghaz. That is my typo mistake; it is supposed to be 82951 for Glucose tolerant test. 82946 is GLUCAGON not GLUCOSE tolerance test. Sorry about the confusion. Thank you Mr. Hoang for your great videos that I have been watching every week. May I ask that in case 6; since we know the answer a or c might be the right one before looking up ICD code; to save time in the test, rather than look up ICD code book, do you think I can choose right from between 80434 and 80434x5?
Hi Phung, you can go either way, but let's pretend that you don't know for sure if CPT 80434 allows you to report it five times (x5) so you should go with the ICD-10-CM diagnosis just to be sure. The ICD-10 is much easier compared to the CPT in terms of its simple description. I hope it helps.
Thanks a ton for your super helpful videos. I looked thru almost all the videos but, couldn't find the one on Respiratory system and the Cardiovascular system. For cardiovascular the only one I see is coding the cardio devices. Please help... Also, when do you plan to post the videos for Anesthesia and Medicine? Looking forward for them.
I am still working on it. I am working full time Mon-Fri and another part time job over the weekend but I make a commitment that I will make at least one video a week so please be patience with me. Thank you.

Hi Sr Hoang, first of all I wanted to thank you for your excellent videos .It has been a great help getting ready for the exam. But I'm a little confused with Case number 7.Im studying with The CPT 2021 and code 82946 is for Glucagon tolerance test and it is a fasting glucose test what needs to be code. So according to my book it should be B the right answer? I don't understand why is C. Could you please correct me if I'm wrong.
I made a typo mistake when I typed this code 82946 at 38:36. It is for GLUCAGON tolerance test and not a glucose tolerance test. That said, C is not a correct answer and as a result B is the correct choice.
@@codingwithhoang Thank you, I appreciate your clarification. There is no doubt about your excellent work. I entered your website and I was very moved by your story in search of the American dream. I congratulate you on your achievements.
Hi, I have a question on case #6. It describes the panel of having 5 cortisol and 5 glucose assessments, when do you know if you should code how many tests the person has after the CPT code? This has been messing me up on the CPC Certification Exam on this category. Any question that has (x2 or x5) for example after the CPT code I don't know when to code it or how to code it especially when it doesn't have other codes to go with it where you can do process of elimination.
Another good video. Thank you. For case number 6, wouldn't it be faster to choose answer A, because they don't mention that the test was done 5 times? So, there was no need to look up the ICD-10 code.
The reason I don't want to go that route because some tests do not allow you to report more than once for example a complete blood count lab so the safe way to use the diagnosis code.
Are the questions in the video are very similar to the actual exam ? I find your questions not too hard (or) too easy. I am able to answer all your questions in your videos correctly. Just want to check my level of preparation before the exam. Thankyou
When you know how to apply my tips and strategies, you will use the same approach regardless of the question is too hard or too easy. I hope you get it. Good luck with your studies.
In your Case #7 you said that (82946 Glucose tolerance test), but my book says (82946 Glucagon tolerance test). So is glucose & glucagon the same thing?
ok, just a question on Case 7 . Please help me understand. I thought the answer would be 85018 hemoglobin because it's indented. Does the indented code not include all the other indented code descriptions above it (to the parent code)?
85018 is the correct code to use for hemoglobin but D can't be the right answer because its missing the code for the hematocrit. As a result, you eliminate A&D right away. You need to watch it again until you understand the strategies. I hope it helps.
They need time to review the new codes and they may add just a few questions to reflect the changes on the exam so I believe you still can use the book until March or April next year.
Hi Hoang!! I truly appreciate your expertise and taking the time in helping everyone!!! I took the online AAPC course and am scheduled for my exam in 4 weeks!! I also have a question regarding case #7. In the exam, are we to take each test literally as it’s stated?? Fasting glucose to me is just that, a test to measure your glucose levels while fasting. Any sort of tolerance test is totally different. The records just state fasting glucose so I would have chosen B because 82947 is for a glucose test.
Hi Stephanie. I made a typo mistake when I typed this code 82946 at 38:36. It is for GLUCAGON tolerance test and not a glucose tolerance test. That said, C is not a correct answer and as a result B is the correct choice.
Thanks for taking the time to create these very concise and helpful videos. In case #7 , in my cpt 2020 the code 82946 - says Glucagon tolerance test. I looked all over the page but, I don't see a code for glucose tolerance test. The only code available for fasting glucose is 82947 can I choose that code?
The answer A&C list CPT 80434 for ACTH insufficiency including insulin tolerance panel so why you need to look up CPT 82946 which is not listed in any answer. I try to simplify it and you seem to complicate it. I hope it helps.
Thanks for your reply. I think we have the cases confused.... Please correct me if I'm wrong. I am referring to the case #7, the last case with fasting glucose test. Can you please check? The code 82946 says Glucagon tolerance test in my 2020 cpt book. Hence, I wanted to know if I can choose 82947 that is answer B as the case doesn't ask for glucagon testing. Sorry to bother you. I do appreciate your videos and they have really helped me understand the process of elimination.
@@saikulkarni7338 Hi Sai. I want you to look at the note under the code 80434 ( Insulin tolerance panel, for ACTH insufficiency. This panel must include the following: Cortisol 82533x5 and Glucose 82947x5. That said, the code is a combo code that includes five cortisol and five glucose test that you want to report separately You need to highlight this note so that you won't make the same mistake twice. I hope it helps.
I don't think a subtitles is needed because you highlighted words and I was able to follow. But not sure for other deaf people preference. That is just my opinion.
Hi Connie. I have tried to turn the CC on but because the video is too long so it doesn't work. I am trying using a software not from UA-cam and still it takes too long to process. I hope I will find a better way to do it. Thank you for your patience. Have a good weekend!

When you know how to apply my tips and strategies, you will use the same approach regardless of the question is too hard or too easy. I hope you get it. Good luck with your studies.
thank you
You're welcome Lexi. Thank you for your support.
I have a question on case #6. Why wasnt the ×5 added to code 80434 used in answer C and not A not used in determining the correct answer?
Thank you so much sir
You are so welcome. Thank you for your support.
In your Case #7 you said that (82946 Glucose tolerance test), but my book says (82946 Glucagon tolerance test). So is glucose & glucagon the same thing?
Thank you so much sir... Very helpful
You are most welcome. Thank you for your comment.
When can we expect your next video and what would it be? So looking forward to these helpful videos from you.
Hi Sai. I am still working on it. Hopefully I will have it done on Friday for Sat this weekend. Thank you for your patience!
Pls explain case 7
great video!!! thank you !!
Hi Shawn. You are welcome!
ok, just a question on Case 7 .
I hope it helps.
love u sir
PLEASE add more videos 😁
I will post a new video tomorrow as planned so I hope that nothing will change my schedule. Thank you Diana.
Thank you so much for this videos.
You are so welcome Veronica. Happy Learning.
thank you , thank yoy
Our pleasure!
Hi,
I enjoyed the video and did well ! could you answer a question for me ,when is the last day to use the 2021 manuals for testing ?
They need time to review the new codes and they may add just a few questions to reflect the changes on the exam so I believe you still can use the book until March or April next year.
Let me know sir about ED PROCEDURE WITH SCENARIOS TOTALLY I AM CONFUSING
Thanks
Yes! You're back 👍🏾
Yes I am! Thank you so much for coming back. Have a good one!
@@codingwithhoang I'm planning on taking RHIT, do you have any videos for exam preparation?
I don't think a subtitles is needed because you highlighted words and I was able to follow. But not sure for other deaf people preference. That is just my opinion.
Hi Connie. I have tried to turn the CC on but because the video is too long so it doesn't work. I am trying using a software not from UA-cam and still it takes too long to process. I hope I will find a better way to do it. Thank you for your patience. Have a good weekend!
Sir your class is very nice...in first my exam is fail i got 44...really i fed up..i dont know how to pass pls
