Hi Brenda. Congratulations on passing the CPC exam and thank you so much for sharing this good news with me. West wishes on your great achievement. I hope you'll keep up the good work in the future. Very well done. All the best!
@@batoulal8095 I studied Mr. Hoang Nguyen’s videos. I answered every question I could find that also gave an explanation for the answer so that I could understand the why. In my area, it appears employers want coders with college degrees in coding. But I also know coders who can’t seem to pass the test.
Mr. Nguyen I just want to say these videos are amazing and are really helping me prepare for the CPC exam. It’s now 2024 and they are still extremely helpful! The only section that can’t really prepare me is for E&M services but I will have to figure that out myself. Keep these coming sir and thank you again!

Hi Bezash. Wow congratulations on passing the CPC exam and thank you so much for sharing this good news with me. You celebrate this new year 2021 with a new coding credential, that's wonderful! I wish you luck in your future career.
Hello Mr. Nguyen: Just in order for others to know, to avoid confusion for new coders, the V-codes given in answers for Case #1 are actually from ICD-9-CM. I think the Well-child check in ICD-10-CM in this scenario should be Z00.129 (Encounter for routine child health exam without abnormal findings). I see you have mentioned in comments that you are using older coding books, so I just wanted to clarify that--Thank you for another great video!
Hi Diane. I do not need to use the ICD-10-CM code for the process of elimination in this case because my focus is on the CPT codes so that's why I didn't even check and find out it is an ICD-9 code. We don't have books at work because we use encoder software and I am still using my old books at home to teach now. In any event, as long as you understand my approach and strategies, then you will be good. When you take the exam, both CPT and ICD-10-CM codes are listed so it's very easy for you to know what would be the right codes for the case. By the way, I like the code you use Z00.129 (Encounter for routine child health examination without abnormal findings). Thank you for pointing it out. Happy Leaning.
Thank you so much Mr Nguyen All of us here watching you tutorial really appreciate the effort and over time your putting in this video. Again, thank you so much 😊
Mr Nguyen I truly appreciate the sacrifices you make in your life in order to make these videos. They have been so helpful to me. I am taking my exam soon and your videos have taught me so much. THANK YOU!
Hi Diane. Please make sure that you watch all of my videos, take notes and follow my strategies, then you should pass the CPC exam as many other people did after watching my videos. You can do it. It's a multiple choice question exam and using my backwards approach, you can tackle them easily. I wish you the best of luck for your exam.
You are an incredible teacher. Although this is 2021 lessons you have a way of making the material so simple when I was overthinking everything. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Tabetha. Congratulations on passing the CPC exam and sharing this good news with me. I hope you will keep up the good work in the future. Very well done. All the best.
The review of the immunizations and vaccine coding guidelines review was so helpful. Thank you, Mr. Nguyen for taking your time to help us to prep for the CPX exam.
Thank you Mr Hoang. Your videos are so helpful. Kindly add Injections Infusions topic which I have confusion in some parts. Mohs microscopic surgery & vascular family code taking also needed.
Hi Barry. That's great to know. The more mistake you make now and learn from it then the less mistake you will make in the coding exam. Good luck with your study and thank you for your support.
Thank you for all your videos! As others have mentioned regarding Case #2, codes 96101, 96102, and 96103 have been deleted. Upon looking at codes 96130-96133, I can see that 96130 is for psychological evaluation, first hour; 96131 is for each additional hour; 96132 is for neuropsychological evaluation, first hour; and 96133 is for each additional hour. Since the MMPI is a psychological evaluation and not a neuropsychological evaluation (I wouldn't know that without your helpful videos), we can eliminate 96132 and 96133. 96130 covers the first hour of service. By my understanding, we cannot code 96131 unless 31 minutes of service are provided after the first hour, so the correct code is only 96130.
The CPT codes will be changed or revised every year just like you will see in the exam, cases will not be exactly the same but the approach will stay the same no matter what. What I want you to learn is understand the technique of recognizing the difference between each code first then scanning the procedure report to find the exact match. I hope it helps.
I am so glad to have found your page. These lessons are so informative and they help me to understand how to find the correct code, and when I choose the wrong answer your explanation makes it clear. Thank you for your dedicated service.

So much valued information. Its really clearing out all small and big doubts very easily. Thank You Mr. Hoang for taking the xtra time to teach us. I really appreciated it.. God bless you 🙌
I have been so so grateful for your great videos. I now even appreciate your teaching method more with the last 3 difficult cases. They all sharpened my test skills more. Have a good weekend Mr. Hoang.
Hi Phung. I believe you are very smart and I have no doubt that you will pass not only the CPC exam but any exam that your heart desires, it's a matter of time for you to expose and practice enough case in order to know them all then the sky is the limit. Thank you for your comment and have a good weekend as well!
Thank you so much, sir. Your videos have been so incredibly helpful. I appreciate every video, every case, every explanation more than you can imagine. I have watched several other youtube instructors regarding CPC exam prep and yours have been, hands down the most helpful for me.
I am following your Chanel from United Arab Emirates.. Almost i watched all of the videos & followrd your instructions which make the course much easier 💜💜👍💪
Wow. I didn't know that you are learning from United Arab Emirates. I hope that I will have a chance to visit your country in the future. I heard that it's very beautiful. Good luck with your study.
Thank you so much for taking time out for making these videos .... They are so precise and your method of helping us learn the topics is very easy to understand and follow. The way you have explained the process of elimination with your strategies is what I needed. So, glad I came across your videos and it totally cleared my confusion and gave me confidence. Thanks a ton.
Hi Sai. I am really glad to know that it helps clear your confusion and also gives you the confidence needed for the exam Thank you so much for your comment. I will be working on the next video.
@@saikulkarni7338 There are only a few sections left in the CPC exam that I have not covered so it could be anesthesia or HCPCS & compliance and regulatory. The future of my videos depends on people who support my channels. A couple hundred views but only 60 like and I don't know if anyone who shared my video. Let's wait and see. I am reading the anesthesia guidelines right now.
Excellent! when you enjoy learning then it's a good sign. I remember way back when I studied for my exam, I really enjoyed to tackle case studies and anytime, I nailed the case I usually talked to myself "You can't not fool me now, I am getting better" :). Happy Learning!
In Case #2 codes 96101,96102, and 96103 have been deleted. There is a note in the 2021 CPT manual at the top of page 790 in the Professional Edition. I hope this helps!
Thank you for the tips. But I got stuck on the last example if immunizations. But I listened to it again a realized what I missed. thanks again for the VIDEOS they are a very informative.
Some questions do not take more than 2.5 minutes so you would save enough time for big case studies. I believe you can have 4-5 minutes for case studies on average. Good luck!
Hello Mr. Hoang. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these videos to help us. You are truly one of a kind. I have a questions. On case #1. You don’t really get to the last codes in C and D Which are the v20.2 and also in A, V70.0. I’m not sure what these codes. Could you please explain? Thanks so much! God bless
Hi Ali. Since I don't even need to use the diagnosis code for the process of elimination so I didn't have to check this code. Based on the feedback from the student, It's an ICD-9 code so it's no longer valid. What I really want you to learn is to understand the technique and strategy that I used to tackle this case and not memory the code. When you take the exam, the cases and the code will be totally different but If you understand my approach then you should be fine. The new code to replace the V code is Z00.129 (Encounter for routine child health examination without abnormal findings). I hope it helps.
I failed my CPC exam by 2 points. I did poorly in this section so your video helps. I have a 2 month old and a 3 year old So I'm not giving up. I'm retaking It soon. I work full time so I hardly get time to study. Your videos really helps. Thanks alot
Hi Abigail. You are very closed to pass the exam so don't give up. Now you know what's on the exam and what areas that you didn't do well so focus more on that part. I wish you the best for your next attempt.
I know that this information is based off the 2020 cpt code since its 2021 just wanted to inform you for the question regarding psychological testing they deleted codes 96101, 96102, and 96103 so other than waiting for the information i was only able to read the last code in my cpt2021 book. but love your methods and i see myself improving in finding the answers to the questions.
Hi Kiesha. Please take a look at these new codes: 96130, 96131, 96132, 96133. The codes will be changed but the concepts, my tips and strategies are still the same. I hope it helps
Hello Mr. Nguyen, I pray that all is well. As I watch this video Case #2 and its asking about the MMPI (17:28) with refer codes 96101 - 96103. I have 2020 & 2021 CPT books and both of these books are stating that these codes have been deleted. Does this question still apply and what other codes apply. This question is asking about a personality inventory, but in the (pn) is showing to report other codes about psychological testing... Please help! Thank you
Please take a look at these new codes: 96130, 96131, 96132, 96133. The codes will be changed but the concepts, my tips and strategies are still the same. I hope it helps
Hi Dr. Nguyen! I looked up the answer in the new 2023 cpt book and it seems like the answer to #6 is actually C, as it says to report 96361 for hydration infusion intervals of greater than 30 minutes beyond the 1 hour increments and the question states that it is a 90 minute infusion. Could you tell me I am right in this scenario?
Hi Mr. Nguyen, I absolutely love your content and have learned some great exam techniques but watching this first case study I don't believe that the correct code could be 90471 as the guidelines state that the code is for patients over 18yrs of age and our patient is 3yrs old. It could just be book changes over the years but in that case would the correct code be 90460?
@@dennisgo4921 Hi, those codes have been deleted in the 2021 CPT book. You will see a note at the top of page 790, in the new book that says 96101, 96102, 96103 have been deleted. The note listed below tells you which codes replaced the deleted codes that I mentioned.

Wow. I didn't know that you are learning from United Arab Emirates. I hope that I will have a chance to visit your country in the future. I heard that it's very beautiful. Good luck with your study.

Hi Editha. Thank you and happy learning.
Love it . 🙏
Thank you for your support.
When will you be posting the next video and what is the topic covered for that video?
@@saikulkarni7338 There are only a few sections left in the CPC exam that I have not covered so it could be anesthesia or HCPCS & compliance and regulatory. The future of my videos depends on people who support my channels. A couple hundred views but only 60 like and I don't know if anyone who shared my video. Let's wait and see. I am reading the anesthesia guidelines right now.
Tq so much sir .your videos are very useful for me thank you so much 🙏
For case #7 34:37, shouldnt modifier 25 be added to the E/M code?
Yes if you are coding a real record.
Mr. Hoang thanks so much for your service! I really appreciate it!!
My pleasure and thank you for your comment.
thank you much for your time of teaching, we should always appreciate you. gracias
I appreciate that MrRamonm. Thank you so much for your continued support. Have a good day Sir!
This is Leslyn. I am really enjoying your videos and my studies. I am learning a lot.
Excellent! when you enjoy learning then it's a good sign. I remember way back when I studied for my exam, I really enjoyed to tackle case studies and anytime, I nailed the case I usually talked to myself "You can't not fool me now, I am getting better" :). Happy Learning!
Thankyou for great video
My pleasure.
Thanks to the moon and come back for.
. such great contents
I am glad you like them! Thank you.
I've been wanting for this video!! Im so excited
Hi Khianta. When you get excited about learning, nothing can stop you. You will be an excellent coder in no time.
Thank you so much sir!!! very helpful
In Case #2 codes 96101,96102, and 96103 have been deleted. There is a note in the 2021 CPT manual at the top of page 790 in the Professional Edition. I hope this helps!
Thank you for this!
Thank you for the tips. But I got stuck on the last example if immunizations. But I listened to it again a realized what I missed. thanks again for the VIDEOS they are a very informative.
Hi Jacque. I am glad that you got it now. Thank you so much for your comment. Have a happy holiday!
This is a good strategy. Now all I have to do is be able to search within 2.5 minutes. It's a bit tricky.
Some questions do not take more than 2.5 minutes so you would save enough time for big case studies. I believe you can have 4-5 minutes for case studies on average. Good luck!
thank you for help
You're welcome Lexi. Thank you.
supr class👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much for your support!
Hello Mr.
When do we use Z codes? The ICD-10 Guidelines on Z codes is very short. I dont know how I would search for the Z code in the Case #1 :(
Can you please update questions of exam prep questions am taking test by next month plz help me , n your video's helping me a lot 🥰 thank you
I failed my CPC exam by 2 points. I did poorly in this section so your video helps. I have a 2 month old and a 3 year old
So I'm not giving up.
@@codingwithhoang thanks alot. I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old so it's hard to study but I am not giving up.
I have found these videos very helpful!!!
Hi Sandra, I am glad to know they are helpful. Thank you for your comment.
@@codingwithhoang Thank you
Thank you very much Sir 😊
Thank you, thank you Mr. Hoang. I got so confused about this code 96360. Not anymore. You are an excellent teacher!!
Hi Rosa. I am glad you got it. Thank you.
Thank you for an informative lesson. Keep giving us helpful lessons to sharpen our skills and thanks again for your time. :) :)
You are very welcome Twila. Thank you so much for your comment. Good luck with your study.
Thank you so much for your videos, they are very informative. I just found in my CPT book on page 727, that codes 96101,96102,96103 have been deleted.
I don't have a new book but take a look at these new codes: 96130, 96131, 96132, 96133. I hope it helps.
@@codingwithhoang thank you! I take my CPC exam tomorrow.
I saw that too. His videos are helpful but if he's trying to help us pass 2021 exam I wish he had the 2021 book. BTW I hope you passed!!
Hi Dr.
Thank you so much! It's very useful. Sir Plz do more vedios about digestive system & cardiovascular.
Sure I will
Thanks so much mr. Hoang
You are welcome and thank you for leaving me a comment.
i just can't wait to say thank you ( i passed my exam) also..
Congratulations on passing your exam! That’s an incredible achievement. All the best!
This video was very helpful doc.
Thank you Leslyn. It's very nice of you.
Leslyn awesome video doc.
Hi Leslyn. I will be posting a new video soon today. Thank you and have a good weekend!
Hi Mr. Nguyen,
I absolutely love your content and have learned some great exam techniques but watching this first case study I don't believe that the correct code could be 90471 as the guidelines state that the code is for patients over 18yrs of age and our patient is 3yrs old. It could just be book changes over the years but in that case would the correct code be 90460?
Thank you very much sir can you please make videos about in medicine section coronary therapeutic services and procedures
I will be working on it. Please continue liking, sharing, and commenting in order to support my channel, I really appreciate it. Thank you.
Thank you so much. This helped a lot, especially with the vaccines
You're so welcome! I am glad it helps.
I'm trying to find these codes 96101 and 96102 in my CPT manual 2020 but I cannot even find, is there any of these two codes? thank you
Please take a look at these new codes: 96130, 96131, 96132, 96133. I hope it helps.
@@codingwithhoang are these the new codes for 96101 and 96102. Where in book the will I know?
@@dennisgo4921 Hi, those codes have been deleted in the 2021 CPT book. You will see a note at the top of page 790, in the new book that says 96101, 96102, 96103 have been deleted. The note listed below tells you which codes replaced the deleted codes that I mentioned.
@@latoyasanchez7166 thank you so much for this clarification! I was going NUTS! so glad i decided to double check here in the comments to see if anyone else was as lost as i was!
Thank you so much for your videos!!! They've been so helpful. I have a question about vaccines. Add-on code 90474 parentheticals say that it can be used in conjunction with 90460. Since 90460 is with counseling and any route of administration and 90474 is without counseling, I don't understand why we would ever use them together. Can you please explain. 🙂
Can you make a video on modifiers?
I can but not until I am done with the CPC exam prep video series.
Thank you
At 16:04 my book doesn't have 96101-96103 codes?
