I wanted to have a go at these, I'm also an Auntie soon to be again and I'm so excited to be going to my first baby shower. It's great that your video is so clear and makes something that looks spectacular seem a task you can approach. I've just got to get the ribbons today and will enjoy making it this evening. After scouring many websites I'm also making up a little changing bag for the big sister to be, with mini wipes, handwash, big sister books and a big sister sticker book. Thanks again great video. Xxx
Thanks to you, I just made a beautiful diaper cake for my dear friend! I'm ready for the baby shower now! Keep up the great work! I know this is years later, but diaper cakes are still a hit in my book!
I've looked at several sites for diaper cakes, but they called for upwards of 96 diapers and were rather gaudy. Yours is simple and elegant. I love it! I'm going to make one for my daughter's baby shower which is this Sunday. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will post a pic on your Facebook next weekend so you can see what a hit your "nappie cake" will be!
I watched so many before I found yours, and It is for sure my very favorite!! SO clever and packed with useful things. I am going to be a grandma for the first time and I am so excited to make this! Thank you so much!!
Best video I have seen on the subject...THANK YOU for wonderful instructions!!!! My only thing is we don't have that tin here in the USA, what size tin is it?
Hi there! I absolutely loove this! But is there anything else I could use instead of an old sweet tin?? Your advice would me amazing. Thanks in advance x
This is such a "Perfect" Diaper Cake ..just the right amount of items for a lovely gift..Thank you for sharing a great video instruction...All the Best!...
Great tutorial, clear instructions. Easy to make, loved it. At first I was wondering what you meant by nappies but then figured it out (diapers) Duh! LOL
Thanks Melody, I agree! In the UK and Australia we wouldn't know what a "diaper" is either! That's why I get a lot of hits, because Brits and Aussies search for nappy cakes! A true example of the saying "Seek to understand before being understood"
Hello @sarahbentley2117! Here are my suggestions: 1. Plain hat boxes from Hobbycraft / Hobby Lobby / Michaels cost £5-10, about the same price as a tin of chocs! 2. Try your local garden centre for a plastic plant pot of roughly the right size and shape. 3. Make the base of the "cake" from nappies starting by tying 4 together, then 8 round that, then a final layer round that. This will make a sturdy base altho obv you won't be able to fill it like you can with a tin. I hope that helps!
this is GREAT! all the other diaper cakes I've seen use so many diapers, not that I'm cheap. I have to admit the word"nappy" was hard to accept as an african american the word refers to hair type. As I read on and realized you are from the UK and that "nappy" is the word for diaper, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD! Makes one realize you shouldn't get offened so fast about words spoken. Thank You!
Wow, just passed 11,000 views so I guess this is helping a lot of people! Thanks everyone and I hope that my little video has helped spread a little Nappy Cake love in the world xxx
Hello, anything that holds the top tier up really AND is useful for mum. I use cotton wool because it is the cheaper option but you could also add more bottles or rolled clothing if you like. They need to be at least the 300ml size. Let me know what you use so I can recommend to others!
Rachael Hill it's easy just watch video and follow....there are much better ones out there I do this professionally..I'm sorry this one is not made the right way and I don't like it at all
I'm not sure if you have that brand in america but its like a sweets tin (Heros) , so you can get a celebrations one also. Hope that helped in some way
The tin is an empty sweetie tin from a Cadbury's range that is very popular, cheap and easy to find at Christmas in the UK. If you are in another country, I can recommend popping to a craft store and finding a hat box or looking in your local ethnic food shop for a European tin of cookies or candies.
Well, after chasing rnd trying to find huggies, which by the way i still cant find, pampers had to do, if i say so myself it has come out really good, oh n dont get me started on teddys, where have all the teddys gone, so imprevised with minnie and she just sits perfect on top holding little pink brush and a dummy, as u cant just buy one bottle nooo u have buy three, anyway happy with my first attempt
Hello Carole! So glad you did it! I bet the final result looks amazing! In case it helps anyone else, either brand is fine, Huggies tend to have prettier pictures on them if that is important to you! My advice is to pick the size 1s or above as you never know how big the baby will be. Babies go through 10+ nappies a day so your friend will definitely need them all! In terms of teddies, I find supermarkets are the best bet especially big Tescos.
I am going to a baby shower this will be a lovely gift thank you. The best tutorial I've seen.

I jut use a bit of curling string and I tend to only attach them when I am at the party, a bit like putting the toppers on a wedding cake!
