What I used:
1. Clear container (9 in L x 7 3/4 W x 6 1/8 H) - Dollar Store, Walmart or Target
2. Paper lantern 24 in white
3. 40 diapers # 2
4. 4 plastic balloon sticks of 20 inches long
5. 1 3/4 yards of tulle in baby pink
6. 2 large rubber bands
7. 12 pieces of 3Ply natural jute twine ,each of 32 inches in length
8. 4 paper milkshake straws
9. 2 Fabric ribbons
10. Gift ribbons in assorted colors. 3/16" - Dollar Store
11. 20 to 30 hairbands
12. A stuffed animal of your preference
A glue gun, sticks & a pair of scissors.

Put an eraser on a pencil and use that to push and hold glued items to keep from getting burned.

What a FANTASTIC idea. I feel like if this is weighted in the bottom then something laid over to cover the weights, this could be used for other things like snack holders for a kiddos party, on and on. Maybe experiment with the weight and balances but where there is willingness to try there are ways to succeed. 2 if my kiddos have the same spring bdate and this is something I could make for a 'boy' or 'girl' and still have a super cool matching theme but each having their own personal touch. I'm planning on making this for my daughter's baby shower and was wondering, is there anything else you could use on top of the air balloon ? Other then the Tully fabric? I love how yours turned out by the way 🙂
Other than tulle fabric it could be paper. 💕

You could place a toy octopus on top or a really thin monkey that is jutting out of the ballon top. Maybe a huge flower? Fan 3-4 diapers, with rubber band, to emulate the tulle design? I love all the options!

The plastic sticks used for the project are 20 inches in length and I purchased them in a bag of 20 pieces at Walmart. They are used to hold balloons and are called “Balloon Sticks”. The brand is “Celebrate”.

The stuffed animals will depend on the size of the plastic box that you use as you can always add more or less diapers to the inside of the box.

Are diaper cakes the actual gift?
I have made so many diaper cakes. But this one is definitely the next one I'm making. I am having a very hard time finding a basket of that size. Does it have to be that size or would a smaller one work? Thank you so much for your response.
They sell this exact one at dollar tree Walmart and target
If you don’t find the basket anywhere you could also make it with cardboard, and cover it with fabric, paper or anything you like!
And yes, a smaller would work but then I would use a smaller paper lantern.

I am making this now and cannot get the lantern onto the straws. I don't know how I can fix this problem.
Either the base is too wide or you need to put a rubber band around top of straws. Place lantern on straws. Then reach through and pull or cut rubber band.

I started this project this evening but I realized I accidentally grabbed New Born diapers instead of Size 2 🤔 Also, with the 24 inch paper lantern, why does it look like yours is a bigger size then the 24 inch we buy off from Amazon?
