Oh uh
I see fingers, hands, and shades of faces
Reaching up and not quite touching the promised land
I hear pleas, and prayers, and a desperate whisper saying:
"Oh Lord, please give us a helping hand"
Yeah, yeah

"If Jimi Hendrix isn't your favorite guitar player, he is your favorite guitar player's favorite guitar player"
Not if your favorite guitar player is Marty Friedman
Zakk wylde is my favourite. And zakk's favourite guitarist is Jimi Hendrix ✌️🎶🤙🧡
Truth
Satch's favorite...
Easily true. People dont know how good they are. Such is the curse of life 😉
If you dont love Jimi Hendrix, youre wrong!
when i first heard of hendrix as a kid i thought "man this guy cant play half as fast or good as the metal bands i listen to" then as i got older i realized the true beauty and skill of his music, the way he can play a seemingly completely different song each time he goes on stage, this man simply mastered that instrument and the fact that he sings while playing....im shitting myself
I dare to claim that not a single metal guitarist ever touches the the level of skill and understanding of jimis work. only for the reason that they started playing later than him
There was poop EVERYWHERE. No survivors
@@YONKERS0814 Music is not a competition.
When Jimi was alive, there wasn’t the obsession with speed that existed in the ’80s. “Shredding” wasn’t a thing yet. Guitarists were judged more for what they brought to the table and Jimi brought more than anyone.
Believe it or not they had to convince him to sing his own songs he was self conscious of his singing voice
'Those people are so uptight, they sure know how to make a mess'-------How prophetic on Jimi's part>>>>>>>>>

I don't understand how a guy can do just 2 years of career in music and yet become the best of all time,JIMI IS A LEGEND!
He didnt do only 2 years. He made music in 1966 that was never released, but made music and played for real 1967-1970
He is a legend indeed!! There may never be another like him!! Sadly, he had been playing in the U.S. for nearly a decade before going to the U.K. where he first achieved fame and his music career really took off and he finally became well known here in the U.S.
@@mansdunf7804 and that he was playing since he was 15, he could've never made its or never had a career and still would've been the greatest.
He started when he was 15 after his mother died, in the late 50s. He was good enough to be a session musician by the early 1960s. He blew up when he went overseas, in America he was chronically overlooked.

I miss Jimi Hendrix so much. I can’t even imagine how amazing of an artist he would have become if he had lived.

Jimi reinvented the guitar. His creativity was amazing. Way ahead of his time.
Listening to him again. You took the words out my head - ahead of his time. Different genre, has anyone heard of Al DiMiola ? Listen to him...

Dude.
Jimi's unrelased material (not meant to be on an album together) makes a better sounding albums than 21st century's pop artists.
Especially when you get a nikki minaj ad right before the video starts.

Kalven Kannabis yep
an i cant even speak!
The man indeed does.
It's more like a sermon into our souls, glad to be apart of the Electric Church!
The guitar speaks with him
Probably the best guitar solo I have ever heard.
I also love his voice. He was shy about his voice too, but it is perfect for ever.
The amount of dexterity required to play the guitar makes it almost beyond the reach of mere mortals. Jimi not only could play the guitar, he did it effortlessly, between his legs, behind his back, behind his head - you name it, Jimi could play it!
Even behind his behind 😂

Been a Jimi fan since 1967, saw him live in '68, but had NEVER heard this song until 4 minutes and 7 seconds ago. Good job archivists :) Thank you kindly.
Okay, so I am not the only one 🙏
"4 minutes and 7 seconds" / That's actually a decent name for a tune !
Exact same for me. Aside from the age thing. This is a brand new song to me.
Back at the saloon my tears mix in mildew with my drink, I can't really tell the sawdust from the floor and as I can tell they may even wrap me up in cellophane and sell me, brothers help me and don't bother looking at the storm....listen to room full of mirrors from voodoo soup...that'll blow your mind
You really have not lived until you have at least 300 Watts of this coming out of the speekers mounted on handlebars of Motorbike. Warning, this song will demand Replay over and over until you run out of Gas.
it's 45 years already but Jimi is still with us ♥
Greatness is infite. His music will never be lost or forgotten!
never left did he?
still within us bro

Remembering Jimi - 52 years gone today , but in our hearts and souls eternally . .
Tears, shivers for the body, an excellent journey, mesmerizing solos, this song takes me far, far away.
Great song that is WAY underrated. R.I.P. Jimi. There will never be another artist like him!
Anyone who had the privilege of seeing Jimi play live knows there will never be another player like him. His playing was raw , honest and masterful !
They're might be someone like Hendrix again, probably a fan of his music and a good learner and studier
Alfred Palmer no way, around this time???? I can't imagine that. He is not coming back. I don't think Jimi Hendrix want to come back. He would die again. I feel sorry for the next Jimi, Things have changed. It's not going to happen. It's over. Too bad, but that would be awesome though.
***** well I'm a bit optimistic, not saying you're wrong though
Ron White Don't forget, Beautiful.
I had the privlage of knowing , and seeing him play... A Guitar God!!!
One of his liveliest solos ever. That says a lot.
I can't believe they released his best song 44 years after he died. People would have gone mental in the 60s and 70s if they heard this.
This was already released many years ago, can't remember the record and year though

This is why Hendrix is and was the best blues guitarist ever !
I would even say best guitarist ever, not just the best blues guitarist, his sound overcomes any genre no matter what your music teachers say lol.
Maybe u can become a music teacher then u can praise Hendrix music to ur students lol
+David Allen maybe dude, but I think I won't be able to handle people who don't know how to play guitar well.
blues rock jazz classic country folk house tekno
David Allen fuck that he is the best at anything ever
Jimi was the purest form of music, a direct channel to the Spirit, but cloaked in an unsolvable mystery... & beauty. Nothing can touch him
Very underrated jimi song
Shut up Mook. No it isn't.

2022 and still sounds perfect..... Jimmy was a musical genius creating amazing masterpieces...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Intro of this song it's so damn good. One of my favourits of all time!
This beginning is crazy dude
This is really just going back to the future. Jimi is one of the pyramids of music. When the ephemeral things dissipate and are forgotten , this and things like it are what is left.
he was so good they even copied his mistakes
Kyle Miller Well said
and sold the out takes as gold.
paintballhaven 92 So true. Jimi was known to play on the edge. Pure Mastery. His "mistakes" so amazing
His mistakes are equal to other men's greatest achievement
@David M. 13 Exactly. I copied jimi's approach. It's more easier said than done. Your ear and hands gotta be sharp. But jimi was unique. His playing was phenomenal. The notes he used half the time were technically wrong. But his mastery of music allowed him to make it sound right regardless.
Cool to hear jimi's buddy steven stills playing bass with him on this awesome song. Im 70 and averytime my friends get together and listen to hendrix we hear something new in what hes playing. Amazing
Honestly jimi was way ahead of his time completely blown away by his music
Hendrix,Rhoads, SRV,Dime. They are the stars that shine bright but burn out quickly. Each one had a unique style.
i am a guitar player in covers bands for 30 years. the guitar parts in this song are genius on every level
I'm not and yet since my early years I recognised that and still do. He's on a different plane.
That's true, not many can use a wah pedal like he did, then the changes from maniac screaming to beautiful melodies, back again to madness, i think if people listen closely they can guess what was going on in his mind!
lord have mercy, shreds every modern guitar player to pieces
Everyone !
Stunning, 66 years young lady still, ALWAYS loving Jimi. The guitar in this is just stunning!!!
Hands down the best guitarist ever, but also an excellent lyricist and vocalist, not to mention the cutting edge work he did as a studio technician, one thinks of Electric Ladyland
Indeed! His pioneering of studio effects, electronic experimentation, tape tricks and more is unbelievably underrated. He was not "merely" a guitarist (or even first and foremost), even though he was the best. He was a sonic visionary in every respect, struggling to get the sounds that he could hear in his head down on tape. "And the Gods Made Love" is like experimental industrial ten years before anyone started doing this, for example (Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music" arguably not withstanding).
Everyone "plays" guitar.....Jimi MASTERED IT! :-)

No one like him then and now!!!
Jimi don't play guitar. The guitar played him
On our planet Earth
Hendrix WAS, IS, and WILL BE a GENIUS musician,
and THE EMPEROR OF GUITAR PLAYING !!!
This song really shows how good of a vocalist Jimi was
The things that this man has done with a guitar will be remembered throughout history such a legend and inspiration
That final solo was one of the best that i ever heard, is unbelievably expressive, Jimi was one with the guitar. I can't believe all the unreleased material there is, 14 albums?? and everythings is mindblowing. In electric guitar no one comes close to Jimi
My favourite part of this song is all the song ❤️
The lyrics make me sad. It’s a cry for help from a sensitive empathic soul who’s being destroyed by stardom.
Listen to those licks!!!!! Noone can improv blues licks like that still today 2018. The guy was a genius
Oh my god. This is the man. Magic man. Maestro . He owns the blues.
I can’t get over how fucking good it is. It’s my favourite jimi song and i feel it’s under appreciated. The best guitar intro ever.
As much as Jimi Hendrix's guitar playing in this is brilliant, the bass line is also really catchy.

Another Masterpiece and a lifelong gem by the one and only G.O.A.T !!
Would ever come again such a great guitarist with such a powerful soul & great talent?!
He was a genius, his lagecy lives on for ever.
Jimi will never truly be dead because his music lives on making him immortal
He's not dead because his last fan has not been born yet
The Ancient Egyptians believed that if people remember you and speak your name, then you never die. In effect making you live forever and beating death.
That beginning though. Can feel the guitar crawl up your spine
His music will live forever.
Wow his timing and his plectrum work are incredibly accurate ,any one who calls Hendrix sloppy should really listen again.
He's sloppy in a good bit of his work, but that's something that makes him unique, the sloppy guitar playing has an awesome feel to it
it is not sloppy if he meant to play it with that feel and timing ie funk can be played with a push to the beat or with a slightly late feel.If he played on the beat he would sound mechanical .
If it was slop its because it was off the cuff, spontaneous and not rehearsed to every note like a carbon copy(how boring),he was always exciting and breaking fresh ground.
+NATIVEx CHARM his 3rd eye was open through dimensions so he was and still is time traveling for Christ sakes...
Im a huge hendrix fan. Hes near flawless in studio recordings. Though his live, acid-fueled performances tend to be on the sloppy side
Can't believe I've never heard this before! I've heard loads of officially unreleased stuff, live gigs, session tracks, but never this. It's seriously tight! Hats off to Jimi (once again) 🎩
My taste in music completely changed when I started playing guitar.
5 years ago I hated music like this and now I can't listen to anything else anymore. It's so damn good that I'm starting to think I've wasted half of my life with mediocre pop music.

What do you mean? I lost 14 years of my life listening to rap/hip hop
yeah me too. It takes maturity to understand the rhythm and melody in his pieces. Love em
@@triantafillospapachristos4729 you’re probably just listening to the wrong hip hop there’s plenty of musical master pieces in that genre.

This is one I've never heard , but it's one Hendrix' best improv performances.
Never gets old. Jimi IS the best forever!
Jimi was most definitely a celestial musician, in that he knew exactly how to express any feeling through sound while having a solid understanding or view of beauty. The lyrics of this song are still relevant to this day and probably always will. When he said "when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace", will be a time when this song is no longer needed.
Jimi was so explosive with a guitar, and he is my hero forever. RIP Jimi, millions still worship your devine playing.
This is how rock should always be played--natural drums, with the guitar just loud enough to cover them volume-wise.
long live Jimi, my dad went through his teens in the late 60s named me after the legend. honor to share this name 🙏🙏

Wow! I've been a fan of Jimi's since the 60's, and I was privileged to see him in concert in 1970 (Baltimore). I still listen to him all the time and thanks to UA-cam I still find fresh versions - things I have never heard, even after more than 50 years as a fan! This is one example. His music will last as long as Bach, Mozart, and anyone you can name. GENIUS! I guarantee that every serious guitarist on the PLANET has heard of Jimi Hendrix.

There was a guitarist that Jimi couldn't beat.
Absolutely True 👍
Behold ...... A MERE MORTAL CAPABLE OF TOUCHING THE FACE OF GOD THROUGH HIS GUITAR.
Some may be mad this was gone for a long time but I think it's nice and aged like a bottle of wine sitting on a shelf. It just makes it so much more perfect.
It's hard to replicate his style of play and have it sound authentic. It's a very delicate, deliberate, but subtle yet powerful playing style. Very few people can pull it off convincingly. Not to mention the genius note phrasing required to make it work.
This man can talk to you with his guitar then lye you down and tuck you in with his miracle playing of his master of Guitar.
I have to say I wish I had got to have met that far out brother and then got to rap to him for good long while, because Jimmy just knew how to put out those high far out ways of colorful words . He always took us somewhere, over all those beautiful rainbows
