You can’t be a true bluesman if you have not at least one song about trains
*i like trains*
Bluesmen and trains are the only duo better than Nutella and toast
You're not wrong 🤔
this comment is on every hendrix hmt vid XD
Agree
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace"
~ Jimi Hendrix
Come back Jimi, the world needs you right now!
That is the crux of the matter! Spread the love of people!
He never actually said that
Amen
🙌☮️💜 Amen 🙏
My grandma was SHOOK when she heard this quote for the first time lol 😂
0:16 The moment that he rolls up the guitar volume and the fuzz kicks in... Powerful enough to hit you hard on the guts, psychedelic enough to bring you to a new world...
What a funny thing to hear my boy
Amazing what he could do with just a fuzz petal. I remember buying one. I felt like hot shit making noise with that. LoL @ me
This is not music for your ears. Is music for your soul. May his legacy live.
YES SIR! JIMI? I HEAR MY RIDE COMIN'!
You are so very correct sir.
Jimi's guitar has got it's own vocab.
*_its_*
His guitar put the cab in vocab
I was just thinking to myself “Jimi gave the guitar a human voice” it’s as if the guitar is the singer and his singing is just accompanying it
And every take he ever cut of Hear My Train is unique unto itself. This song was his playground and he didn't repeat himself like a mere mortal would have had to across so many versions live and studio. Incredible.
A MUSICAL MYSTICS TRANSLATION OF OUR MAKERS MAGICAL MEDICINES
Many people wish they could play guitar like Jimi hendrix. Always wish I could sing like Jimi hendrix.. He has a unique voice.
like 8 billions others guys
That solo gave me mad goosebumps I shed a tear
Here is my tissue boy
If you’re into this kinda music, God bless you. ☮️
thanks
Thanks a lot friend 🙂
🕶🖖🦋👌🍀
Has anyone realized Jimi’s guitar experience was 12 years. He started at age 15 and ended at age 27, so much had been achieved in those years. True dedication👏🏼
I think that often gets overlooked, it's impossible to imagine what level he'd be on if he was still alive today
@@itsalljokes- Yes--I was upset when Janis, Duane Allman and many other musicians died, but Hendrix really hurt. It was amazing to hear Cry of Love later. Some of the best music he ever made. Real growth. He would have continued to branch out in many directions, mixing soul, rock, blues and jazz. Creating music we can't imagine.
He wore his guitars out very quickly according to his friends.
@@squirelova1815 I wonder how he feels about the fact that rather than people playing his guitars they sell for daft prices and end up in glass cases or private collections, I imagine thats the last thing he'd want!
@@itsalljokes- Yes, it is rather ridiculous, but I think he would not mind if it helped his family. I don't know if it ever did. I looove the Fender Classic Series '70's models. 7.25" radius and bullet truss nuts-heaven.
I adored him. He died when I was sixteen and I felt devastated. This song gives me goosebumps nobody can match him.
Stevie Ray Vaughan got pretty close
wow- I feel you, dude. was born too late, 1966..
That tone is insane…
Blues , rock, psicodélico the besth 🙌
Jimi is hands down the single most badass rock icon to ever exist. Fuck yeah!
I wear a shirt of his face and have Karen's tell me how much they love bob Marley. So funny
It's been over 50 years... Still waiting for that fucking Train!
you didn't go to the station man, you should move your ass there.
Tell me where your ass is... I am confused...
@@despinatsakona242
Nice!
@@ahimmler2317
Wrong...but try again- this time listen for the train and you will know!
🙂
unless you are over 50 years old, you missed it man. Sorry to tell ya.
Jimmy had a lot of Cherokee blood and you can hear the shamanistic influence in the cries, notes and rhythms put forth
I think jimi knew his train was coming way before it got there, just like Robert Johnson heard them hell hounds, rip jimi and Robert, 2 of the greatest
One of my favorite things about his playing is how he starts to make a mistake or flub a note and morphs it into something brilliant. A lot of his most original playing (licks never played by anyone beforehand) seemed to happen that. There are lessons about life in his playing
Yes! You mess up just keep going & turn it into something beautiful🤘🎸
in his dick cavette interview he said something along the lines of he doesn't practice, he just never stops experimenting, which is why he makes mistakes, but they serve as more inspiration
Yeah the mess up is part of the journey
Everybody gushes about his technical skills, but they fail to see why he is so awesome. It's all about the feel and the music, not about the skills
mistakes weren't mistakes. It's part of the truth of life
The Planet needs Jimi right now
"And see if they can-uh awaken some kind of thing in their minds, y'know, 'cause there's so many sleeping people"
Jimi at Dick Cavett
without a doubt, man rip to the legend :(( goat
Man you got that right, I haven't heard a truer statement in a while.
I agree except for the fact that the Earth is not a planet. ;)
But we have him!! Just need to use his gift!
This kind of electric guitar playing has never heard before and nobody in the future would be able to achieve the same even with all the istrumental machinery technology that exist today he even played accustic 12 string guitar bravo jimi tu cambiaste el mundo de la musica alrrededor del mundo cheers jimi you alone change the history in the music world being a poor kid who use to play with a broom imagining it was a guitar tu cambiaste el mundo.🎸🔥🙏🎸
Definitely one of Mr. Hendrix 's greatest songs! So bluesy and so beautiful! Rest in peace, great troubadour! You were among the very best rock singers and musicians and guitarists!
I like how he made the guitar sound like a actual frickin train!
Wow yeah, He did do that. 2:14 time.
You can feel the sparks flyin' off his guitar strings. Just explosive, no holds barred. Master of the wah. His trillin' is thrillin'. He let the guitar find it's own tones.
real.
Gonna come back and buy this town.. and put it all in my shoe.. in my shoe baby!
So this is why people say modern music is crap. I totally get it now. Such an incredible musician.
Modern music is good but the classic is much better.
The intro on this one must be top 3 most badass ways to really get a blues tune going.
Jimi is a metal god.
Gotta give some attention to the drummer, he was insane.
It sounded like Mitch Mitchell...
Who was an all time great rock drummer with a jazzy style of playing!
If this was band of Gypsies, it wasn't Mitchell, right?
It was not Mitchell in Band of gypsies. It was Buddy Miles on drums. The first song "them changes" live at the Fillmore is the title track on the same named album Buddy Miles wrote solo. Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell were replaced by Buddy Miles and Neil Cox for band of gypsies in 1970. Check out miles. It'll blow your mind. Cheers
But Band of Gypsys broke up pretty quickly when Jimi fired Buddy. He brought back Mitch and he and Billy had a band towards the end of his life called The Cry of Love.
@@virgilrw Oh yeah... Mitch was the "Jimi's Elvin Jones"!
I admire how he could take the conventional. And make it unconventional! And the notes where from another planet!
He is the reason I wanted to become a musician and guitarist RIP Jimmy 50 years ago today.
Solo is absolutely spine chilling
I forgat to mention Mitch Mitchell 🥁 drums batteries and noel reeding bass guitar what a band what a trio sounds like a whole orchestra he changed the world.
His voice is so distinctive, and soulful.
This is my favorite version, to me it sounds more like Jimi.
“Gonna come back and buy this town.. and put it all in my shoe… in my shoe baby!” Best line ever. Jimi was a poet. He had all this pain from having such a rough life and people doubting him etc.. and that one line was the classiest insult ever. He gonna crush all his doubters (by putting it in his shoes) and “own” them all (by buying the town). After his girl had broken up with him. Lyricist genius and classy annihilator to say the least o:
most expressive and emotive player ever. ppl can argue and complain about whatever bullshit, there was no one as creative as Jimi. it's hard to believe he really existed and this music really was recorded. just amazing.
Clayton Paul We're all greatful for his time here , most agree 😎
Stevie Ray comes super close
Robert Nesta as well
@@TheDeluxesam What? SRV is nowhere near Jimi.
@@taurtue How
I can hear smokestack lighting in this, Jimi wasn’t just a blues player he knew what was good.
Jimi Kissed the Sky and the Sky wanted more.
excuse him
while he kiss the sky
dun dun dun
dun dun duuun
dun dun duuun
Shame he overdosed, coulda put the world in his shoe the junkie fucking prick.
@@vernonwatts4259 He didnt overdose, the government killed him to prevent him from bringing blues to the people who need it most and rallying the forces of good against evil.
u evil piece of shit
sorry. u can't call Jimi junkie fucking prick. who the fuck are you?
He can really make the guitar talk ✌🏾
Jimi's guitar was exploding at every note, tears come down from my eyes at every single note he plays
Calm down doctor
Same with me,it's very emotional
There was a commercial that asked, “How do you start an iconic movement?”
I clicked Skip Ads. I hear my train a coming.
Such a musical wizard 🧙
Way ahead of his time. To think that when he was alive people weren't ready for him and didn't like him as a guitarist and all that blows my mind. His music holds up so well, and i firmly believe if he was still around he would be playing heavy music. I mean, this for the time was pretty heavy.
I always feel like jimi's guitar is trying to tell me something
It does it!
Well, from what I understand outlaws robbed and jumped trains. Either as a quick come up or a convenient escape route involving a murder. Several other metaphors. But, that’s the general meaning in American folklore.
Its like the voice of a whale , telling a story about the creation of the universe
@@cmdrleeloocatfish7619 that's deep
@@pseudoname3159 axe and amp?
I finally got the best version of this song in the album "Rainbow Bridge" again. Thank you so much Mr.
Still makes my heart race, I'm over 60, this man got me into my axe. I'll blame him. 🎸🎸🕉
There's a lot of Voodoo Chile in this song. Jimi is legendary .
0:57. His voice gives me goosebumps everytime I hear this part.
This is potent as hell
Jimi was on a level all his own. Others are great, but not like this. 50 years later, this is still spectacular!
2:07 the guitar sounds like a lightning strike here, damn!
Wowwww¡Jimmy hendrix os THE BEST SONGS IN THE WORLD.....tanks Jimmy ¡
let me tell you he s the GOD OF MUSIC EVER
It just doesn't get any better then this, Hendrix in all his reincarnations is still SUBLIME................. a true undisputed pioneer taking guitar playing to a stratospheric level - long live jimi
🕶🖖
At 2:05 Jimi starts melting my face and ears off, literally, sends chills down the back of the neck and ears and your whole chest and head. Unbelievable. The guy draws out notes so long, the sustain is incredible, knocked me on the floor. Some of the best guitar I ever heard right here right now. RIP Stratomaster, see ya in the next world, gonna be late. Thanks for leaving something.
Nobody, Absolutely Nobody smh that’s pure Hendrix
That wasn’t on this record there was another record where they added an additional guitarist the whole album sounded like shit
My Stepfather was born in 1969 Though over the years he loves jimi hendrix till this day
When it starts I thought “ok another version I haven’t heard” but by three minutes in I’d been totally “Jimi’d” again after all these years! An otherworldly talent and approach and an unexplainable wire between soul and fingers! No wonder Nixon etc hated him!!
Listening to Jimi play guitar is a mystical/spiritual experience better than any drug.🎸🎸
He can make the guitar shiver✌🏾
Man, there have been a few really amazing guitarists who could make you feel something just with the notes coming off their fretboards. But Jimi's the only one I ever heard who could express entire thoughts that way.
One of them ones fr.
Thank god for jimi hendrix
Will Curran Jimi IS God....
you have to listen to nearly his entire body of work to really appreciate how complete his mastery over Guitar was.
Jimi Hendrix, the most creative guitar player ever.
Or just pick any one song.
So true
🕶👌
copy that im new so thanks
I've seen his spaceship coming down to earth everytime I listened to his music, but he is a human being son of God nobody can play the guitar like that, that way and never will he really is a magician i just don't know how to explain it te vuela la mente.
My soul left my body at 0:18 when he unleashed that fuzz face
Jimi existed in his physycal presence on earth before the left brain hemisphere began to take over humanity. He was able to dive into the beautiful void and pull out that raw magic that kinda defies description
This gave me chills. Well said.
Ive been tripping since Friday
Hendrix is a great of the guitar, forever and ever. A teacher, a god.
Saw him 1968... New Years Eve...Phoenix Az.
Jimi died 10 days after I was born..I remember being devastated when my mother told me..
So you were a highly intelligent baby? Lol 😂 Just kidding. You must mean you were devastated when you were old enough to understand. Lol
@VVoOꟻF 😂😂😂😂
I was barely six months old when John Lennon was shot. I read about it in the newspaper.
@@KelzBernard see but that's something that doesn't need to be said, its common sense at this point, obviously he didn't get the meaning of death as a 10 day old Infant.

it's like Jimi was born to be the king of rock .you would never will never find a guitar tone that is close to Hendrix sound............
The legend Jimi WAS the tone , hand's down👍
Elvis was the king of Rock. Hendrix was the king of the Guitar
@The Legend: Check out Buddy Guy and Otis Spann on 1968 album called A Man and the Blues
Jimi Hendrix is one the greatest to "bang" an axe, but check out the brother Eddie Hazel on Maggot Brain from Parliament, rip to both musicians

Crazy to think hendrix is still bringing out music in 2018, what a legend
Hendrix único....muostro!!! Leyenda!!!!! La hacia hablar a la viola!!! Genio!!!
There are versions of hear my train a coming that you can never find. I challenge all the true believers to get this out there to us. I know there was a Maui version it was so amazing and you can never find it this is his best song. This is the song he expressed himself with the greatest guitar work Jimi loved this song and never got tired of playing it. God blessed us with Jimi Hendrix.
This is pure Hendrix and a good starting point if someone says "describe what hendrix is like in one song." There was absolutely nothing like this at the time to compare him to. This was mind blowing in the late 60's and 1970 and still is today.
the sets of triplets... effortlessly. No other human on earth can do that to this day.
One of the best guitar solos EVER.
UNREAL.
The greatest guitarist ever.....!!!!!!!!!
There was a certain freedom in his playing that other players don’t seem to have
In case you are interested in trivia: 'Put it in my shoes' is a deep American adage "to make an effort to imagine how you would feel or act if you were in the same situation as a particular person."
we all need Jimi now!
Hendrix is still in my world and my heart❤
Dude was so casually Magical! Ive heard this a billion times, was downstairs shaving, heard this off my "measly" bluetooth speakers, ran back to hear exactly from what concert or what....
