I remember watching " club for a fiver" his rants were entirely justified when well off financially players were not performing. Having watched this and other interviews with him is plainly apparent he is highly knowledgeable about football. Also a very astute man regarding a wide range of subjects, what a loss to football I'm sure he could have coached at the highest level
James, I have watched many interviews you have carried out with ex-football people but this four parter with John Sitton I'd consider my favourite, he is a complete down to earth, says it as he sees it, type of guy. The passion is beyond doubt from his football perspective but also with regard to how he feels about the politics what happened in his work and the ongoings in the Crossrail Project (2021 will not be finished more like 2023). I've not read John's book but am aware of it, but will have to wait to buy it when I return for my yearly trip back to the UK, I've lived in Thailand for 6 years now, but what with the worldwide pandemic not sure when, maybe by the time I get back the second book will be out. It's common knowledge that Taxi drivers have an astute brain and John is no exception, remember Fred Housego who won Mastermind years ago - he was a Taxi Driver. Keep up the great work James.
what a fantastic podcast ... so great to see a very intelligent proud man like Sitts have his say ... what a crying shame this man hasnt had the chance to affect the game more ... i wish him all the very best
Have just watched all four parts of the John Sitton interviews in one go, and found them really interesting, especially about his time at Leyton Orient, as I used to watch them during John's time there, as well as his passion on non-football related issues, which I have some sympathy with.
What an interview. Love this geezer. I’m an old Chelsea fan and can remember him playing. Always gave 100% in a poor side. I’m of similar age and was once a very proud Londoner unfortunately not any more. WTF have these morons done to our city. The TFL stories are all true. Good on yer John keep ranting my old son. 💪💪
Love you John, should be in football or politics, and WHAT a memory for facts, figures, dates etc and SO clued up all matters/current affairs 👍👍, brilliant John.
Thanks mate i really appreciate that im planing to have John back on next week, what football subjects would you like to hear him discuss/ rant on? cheers mate
@@fullcorefootball2459 I could listen to john, talk about wallpaper for a hour, and he would make it sound intresting, i like hearing about characters in the game from the 80s,Top man for the heads up, look forward to it, cheers.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏great to listen to sitts ......if he was a yes man he,d be very very top at the f.a .......( surrounded by TOTAL Pond life) 💪😂😂 great stuff stay the same
To be a coach in any sport one has to travel,,, Football industry I would travel to holland, spain, and learn from the old school... same with tennis I have followed Vic Braden, in the usa .. real coaching ..
Yo from Ireland...I think John would be great involved in Irish football with the FAI, they'd get him over here and he would improve things....'To hell or to Connaught' Oliver Cromwell
I can understand John's gripes about cyclists, as I am a mere pedestrian and am sick of my safety being endangered by cyclists illegally cycling on pavements, and then getting abuse and/or threatened by cyclists when pointing out they should familiarise themselves with the Highway Code.
has got some great ideas- England is sadly not an "ideas" place. I will be buying this second book. Football is a fascinating subject even if it is so sordid.
Sitts mentions Tommy Youlden. He played for Arsenal reserves for several years....not a couple of games. Cross rail opened in May 2022. Just for the sake of UA-cam history.
All wight.. He dont have go on & on & on.. He's just all negative, they won 1-3 away FAC non league. They had a bad run & this was a win to build on constructivly, but not Sitton, he pulled them to shreds & the team just lost their at last a win spirit. What a plonker. Dont let him coach any team, he's full of himself & using the 'C' swearword is the end. I'm ex army & been swore at by a drill sgt but not the C word, its taboo & only used in desperate straits. I cant listen to him waffling anymore...
I can't help thinking that he would have been a top coach if he had a different mentality. He speaks very well when talking about coaching but unfortunately he doesn't have any humility and is delusional when it comes to anybody else with different ideas, or anything that goes against his opinion. Unfortunately this just makes him come across as very bitter
What a remarkable human being.
He's a top fella. Thanks for watching mate.

I imagine he'd be class to go for a beer with.. I mean, you'd struggle to get a word in edgeways, but I'd happily listen all day! Great interview! 👍👍
haha cheers mate!
you understand what i mean?

@@fullcorefootball2459 He's actually an interesting and informed guy. A shame that he's been defined by that documentary. Best wishes to him.
Absolutely fascinating guy - don't agree with his opinions on global climate change but really interesting to listen to his take on football.
100 percent I’d have him at my Come Dine With Me evening
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏great to listen to sitts ......if he was a yes man he,d be very very top at the f.a .......( surrounded by TOTAL Pond life)

Disgrace that this extremely intelligent , charismatic man can't get any roles in football
Bring ya fackin dinner if you’re using his cab.
He’s no younge Elvis and fuck a herbal tea up.Brilliant!!! Comic genius 😂😂😂

Brill. Trying to think who it is at 14:41.

Never mind about the shouting Sitts. Give me a man with passion over a church mouse every day of the week and twice on a Sunday. God Bless.
Sitts mentions Tommy Youlden. He played for Arsenal reserves for several years....not a couple of games. Cross rail opened in May 2022. Just for the sake of UA-cam history.
How is this guy not employed in football? Brains brains brains
He should have signed for Southend back in the day.
Should be England manager as an ex professional footballer myself would have run though a brick wall for him .
Billy turleys dad .

Amazing int! He is so right about TfL, meanwhile they congested red routes even more. Idiots!

His temper shot him in the foot.

How old is this guy 3,000 ? He’s done so much . I smell something unpleasant here .
In one sentence he said he passed 8 'o' levels, then he said he left school with no qualifications.
Is he insane?
are you?
No he not he is a highly intelligent man
A dinosaur unsuitable to work in football.
