I have been learning Spanish and training myself to recognize Spanish words so when I saw your name I thought it said Mi amor which means “My love” in Spanish 🤣
Just FYI anyone who wants to try this, just get the brush at the Dollar Tree if you have them. They carry them and the markup at a pet store is absurd, especially because you won't be using this on a living creature.
“ just keep brushing just keep brushing just keep brushing” 🐠
maruisonfire “What do we do? We brush, brush”
oh my goodness, I NEVER would have guessed that this was a thing!!!!! Learn something new everyday!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
So glad it was helpful! It's a cool technique :D
You're not alone, this is so cool
This would be so awesome to give crochet baby dolls hair too!!!
How cool!!! I cannot wait to make this dog for my daughter for Christmas! This dog looks just like our dog, Rosie, so my daughter will LOVE it!! Thanks for showing this awesome technique!
That's awesome to hear. Happy crocheting and I hope your daughter enjoys! I'd love to see how Rosie turns out, so be sure to tag me on Instagram or Facebook! ^^
That dog is sooo realistic and so so cute!! x) Thanks so much for this video, I had no idea you could do this, but this takes making plushies by crochet to a whole new level!! :D I'm so excited!!
Thanks! Happy crocheting and brushing! 😄
I would be too scared to do this haha
The free amigurumi pattern for the Dog is available on my blog. If you would like to see a video for the crochet parts as well, let me know. If there's enough interest, I'll make the video! Thanks for watching!
Ami Amour - do you have the amigurimi partial stuffed when you start brushing? Or completely stuff after brushing?
I like to partially stuff it, and after brushing, stuff it completely. But if you find that some of the stuffing is making its way out onto the brush, you can take it out and brush the parts first and then stuff last as well.
Hi ami, have you done a crotchet video for the teddy please xx
'll see if I can put together a video for how to crochet the dog itself. Thanks for your interest!
Thank you ami, that would be lovely. Thank you so much xx
I am so excited about this. I'm not good enough not use fuzzy yarn- i have hope- thanks!!!
Thank you for this! Super helpful & simple to follow - I’m going to try now!!
Although I’m a beginner at a crochet I definitely found this video very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Welcome to the world of crochet! So glad you found it helpful!
I would think the stitches would come out, or that the yarn would break apart and the figure would be messed up, or that the main look of an amigurumi is for it to have that crocheted stitch look? I never knew this was an actual technique! Thank you! Ill try it on a project of mine and ill update this when i do it!
That was my exact thoughts
What a brillant idea!
I think this technique is amazing! I never knew this was possible! I definitely gonna try this soon! And that dog is legit the cutest thing ever! 😍😍😍
Thank you! Have fun with it and let me know how it goes!
I wanted to crochet a huggy waggy doll but I couldn't figure out how to make the frizz, but now I know how, very helpful thank you ❤️
thanks so much! ive been wanting to make a cosplay for a character i have and this helps with her shawl so much!!
How cute!! FUN FACT I'm also able to use some ACRYLIC yarn to fluff nicely. Not all acrylic works though! I've found most success using the very soft "I love this yarn" brand from Hobby Lobby 😁💖
Awesome, that's great to know!
Great tip, Yezenia! 💕💕💕
So that yarn works well for this type of technique??
Oh wow I definitely am going to try this
Have fun!
So cute! I'm making an afghan for my daughter and wanted to make a flat version of a yorkie on one of the squares.
I like your idea, of brushing the yarn. To make a fluffy toy. Great idea. I found out, that too.
It's a great technique to add a fluffiness to your crochet!
Really cool video! Going to have to try this.
Happy Crocheting! 🐶
so cute. love it
Thanks! :D
looks just like my chorkies omg can't wait to try this
Thank you this was SO helpful!😁
Glad you enjoyed it! 🐶
This puppy is so cute!!! My dog looks just like this!!
aww so lucky you have a dog that looks like this!
Intriguing... cool! :)
This is a really cool technic.
Thanks! :D
sooooooo, and SOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE CROCHET !! I love it....
Thank you!
Hi! What would happen if I use this technique on acrylic yarn?
Oh my god this is how it’s done!!
I literally downloaded this vid bc its so cute but it will be hard Me to make it- it looks so fluffy imma say if i'd made it would be my bff bc i love it!
You can do it! Haha yes he'll totally be your bff! 🐶❤️
This is so greattt! I just can’t find a pet brush like this where I live, I only find the rubber ones☹️ when I come across a brush like this, will definitely be trying this, thank you!
Where do you live? They have these at the Dollar Tree, but even if you don't have a location near you, you can order online :)
Thank you for this! Can't wait to make my friend a soft fuzzy poodlenn
Oh that would be perfect! Happy crocheting! 🐶
Can we be friends? 🥺🥺🥺
It's so cute! My friends dog just died so I'm gonna crochet this for her!☺️😍🐶
Is it possible to do this with a different type of brush? I don't really have any pet slickers so idk
I a new male crocheter and I didn't know this was a thing....so keel thank you I'm going out and buy a brush.
Happy Crocheting! 😁 and Happy Brushing!
This yarn is sold or everywhere or discounted perhaps, what other brand would work?
I want to make for my vintage dollhouse. Could you do tutorial for that?
Would you suggest only chunk yarn Would be best for this??? Have you tried thinner yarn before?? -and what were the result?? Was it as good?? Or for smaller strings you suggest a different comb or smaller strokes?
Instead of throwing out the fibers that are left on the brush you can use it to stuff with. Saw that on another tutorial.
Hi~ It’s so cute!! I really enjoyed the time to make it. Thank you. Also, I could make special present for my friend’s birthday because of your tutorial :) So I just have a question.. Is this your design? I just got some requests from my other friends to sell this to them but I don’t know if it is ok or not.. I just wanted to ask you about it first.. I already told them this it not my design but they really want to have completed thing.. I would like to ask you about the permit to make and sell it.. I will tag your name as a designer on the doll if it is ok for you.. Hope to get your answer :) Thank you!
thanks for the tutorial! would this work with Schachenmayr Catania cotton yarn, or should i get the recommended wool yarn if i want to make a fluffy tail for an amigurumi?
Hi I would recommend wool as it will fluff up better!
Whhhhaaaaaaatttt ?! I found this by trying to find a #vanlife youtuber..... and I am so happy I found this on accident, cause I also crochet and this is awesome 😭
💞💞💖🐶
Is there such a thing as brushing too much with this technique (for example, a risk of tearing through the yarn)? Thank you for sharing this tutorial!
That's a good question. So far I haven't heard of such a thing happening, but in the rare event that it does, you can most likely use more yarn to sew it up and then brush it again gently.
Will 100% cotton yarn work?
Lovely pattern. I find it better to brush parts before you place the eyes and nose and stuffing
Thank you! Yes that's a great tip!
Is it hard to sew the parts together after you brush the yarn out?
I didn't find it hard to brush it out although it might get a little difficult to see because of all the fuzziness but it's not too bad.
جميلة 👍👍👍🔔🔔🔔
Could I use this for my doll amigrumies , making a wig cap then brushing it ?
You can also try tying a bunch of long strands of yarn together and then brushing it out and sewing onto top of doll's head. Have fun and experiment!
amigrumie
Can you wash this once its been brushed out?
That's a very good question! I haven't experimented myself with washing my brushed amigurumi yet. But if the yarn is made out of wool you may want to handwash gently with cold water as hot water may make the wool shrink. And after drying, you may be able to brush again with a slicker to get the shape and texture you want. If someone experiments, let us know how it turns out!
Could this work with 100% acrylic yarn?
It'll get fuzzy, but not as fluffy as it would with wool or alpaca yarn.
Does this also work with knitting?
I've never tried it with knitting, so I can't say! But I would think why not? I would be more gentle though when brushing because the knitted fabric might be a bit more thinner than the crochet one.
Hello!!!! Can I use milk cotton yarn for this? 😅
Hi! I haven't tried with milk cotton yarn, but it may get fuzzy, but probably not as fluffy as with wool or alpaca yarn.
Hello, may i know what kind of thread is used ? Thank youu
This one was 50% alpaca yarn, and 50% acrylic. I used an extra chunky yarn from Michaels called Cozy Wool.
Will acrylic yarn work? cuz' that's all i have
It'll get a little fuzzy but probably not as much as the wool! I would experiment and see!
should We use same type of yarn for cat hair? Can you make cat hair?
Yes, if you brush wool yarn, it will get fuzzy. So you can use the technique to make all sorts of furry animals, including cats!
Could I use regular acrylic yarn with making this
You can try it with acrylic too but it'll probably be more fuzzy than fluffy!
@@AmiAmour thank you so much for answering my question
Is this possible with embroidery thread?
I haven't tried it with embroidery thread so I can't really say. It might be a bit harder to brush out because the thread is smaller. And if you do brush it out, it might also be not as fluffy as with wool or alpaca yarn.
Does this work with dk yarn
Hi yes, it should still work. The project will just come out smaller size!
I tried to brush my cat amigurumi hardly for a lot of time because I have to stuff it firmly to make it sit and stand, but the stuffing is visible, so my mom asked me to brush it with a bottle brush, the result is the cat become fluffier but the yarn fibers become messy, and the stuffing is still visible, then I borrowed a pet slicker from a pet store and the result is still same. My dad thinks it's because my yarn is too slim to be brushed (actually I use a 100% wool yarn), but I think my yarn thickness is half than yours, and the crochet hook that I used is 2.5 mm size, but thx for the video. This video actually helps if I have a thick yarn

How does this work with 100% cotton yarn?
I haven't tried it with cotton yarn, but I think it can fuzzy but not as fluffy as with wool or alpaca.
Can i use a hair brush instead?
I haven't tried with a hair brush, so I can't say. You might get it to get fuzzy but perhaps not as fluffy as with a pet slicker brush.
Ami Amour: go ahead and just brush it
Me: no way 😳😮😲🤯😝
Hi,whats the name of that brush?
It's a pet slicker brush. You can find at any pet store or in in any pet section.
Ami Amour Hallo, wenn du schlingen häkelt, und diese aufschneidet, und dann ausbürsten, hast du ein richtiges fell
@@reginahoffmann4078 Thanks, that's a great tip!
Soo we just use pet slicker brush ?
Yes, and brush away!! 😆
I teared appart 3 balls already :(
Am I too rough?
Aww, maybe try brushing gently at first and see how it goes.
Try different yarn?
I'm going to make the more disheveled looking opossum
So um..does 100% acrylic work 😅
It'll get fuzzy with 100% acrylic, but the stitches will still most likely show. For ultimate floofiness, I recommend yarn with some wool or alpcaca in it! But try it out with acrylic and let me know how it goes!
@@AmiAmour okee ty i tried this out and it looked so good! Tysm (^v^)
Yay, glad it worked!
really cool tips !!!! thanks 'o'
(I have a diy channel too, so if you interested you can check it 😊)
