  • I traded this 1993 Yamaha XT225 for my ninja 250 cafe racer! it's nothing too special but it's a cool bike that is super easy and cheap to work on! it is also fun just to have a super light dual sport around. after I purchase I discovers a few major issues I was going to have to resolve and one of them was low compression in the engine, so I yanked it out, threw in a new piston and jug from CHINA for $60 and now she's good as new!

The XT225 is a simple and perfectly balanced motorcycle.
In Japan, another name is Serow. I'm on the same XT225
Please enjoy remodeling and renovation. I'm rooting for you.

Very educational likes it from Kenya. Keep more coming. We have similar mountain Goats world over. I look to some day get a complete overhauled engine for use. Thanks

Otherwise your confidence is good keep up the good work I just I'm a little bit ahead of you as far as age and they're doing it for a while but next time reseat the intake and exhaust valve make a big difference

Could you recommend a source for rebuilding bottom end and transmission for parts? Who sells the bottom end stuff? Reputable. Thanks and nice job I’m gonna redo the exact bike with your video, much appreciated!

Unfortunately I won’t be doing much on this bike cause it doesn’t need anything. But the service manual is very helpful.

Had the head off, pull valves, open intake and exhaust ports and lap them back in for some gains.

How many miles do you think is the most common for the 225 , I just got a 1998 with 8k miles i do have to warm her up before taking off but she runs great after that it’s my first bike an I’m not to aware on how long they last , further down the road I wouldn’t mind rebuilding

Why you had it apart you should have receded the intake and exhaust valve

Those bikes are notorious for needing 2 be ridden on choke for 10 minutes before they act right. Great bikes hut they hate being woken up.

After weighing you, may I know the name of the site from which you buy the goods you need for me, the bikes you are repairing

Me too. Give us the site or place you order spares from. They seem reliable. Not all china spares work. I bought a Chinese carb but finally gave it up and repaired my stock. Otherwise I plan to get a SC2.

It is a yz450f or yz250f rear tail but there was some kinda ghetto modification that I didn’t do.
