You can make this even jankier by using rarely used counters which have the advantage of not helping your opponents if they decide to kill your commander a dozen times. For example, Sporogenesis puts fungus counters on enemy creatures and gives you Saprolings if those creatures die. Musician uses Music counters and gives your opponents' creatures pseudo-cumulative upkeep. Sensei Golden-Tail uses training counters to give Bushido.
Fun fact about goad, a goaded creature doesnt just attack next combat. As long as your turn hasnt happened, it will attack on every combat that it can attack on, so extra combat cards can be helpful to increase the efficiency of goaded creatures
@@damionwhitehead1165 while it isnt in kros' colors, something like najeela, the blade blossom can add a combat phase on opponents turns and even buff the creatures further
i think its easy to forget that he taps them down too so when it comes down to the 1v1, you can still use them and just tap your opponents creatures repeatedly. too that end verity circle is also so nuts in this deck.
Contagion Engine puts a -1/-1 counter on each creature target player controls. Taps down their board, making them open to an attack. Contractually obligates them to attack with their weakened creatures. 👌
Magnetic Web would be so awesome in this deck. If the goaded creature survive. It will have to attack again if you put another magnetic counter on a different creature of the same opponent. Or if you pick a different opponent you can actually force what creature needs to block the goaded creature
I thought so too. I built Kros a few months back, and have gotten a lot of reps in. Magnetic Web seems good, but is just far too slow at distributing those counters
The Ultimate _Sleep Agent_ daddy: Give them Sleeper agent, stop it blocking, make it attack someone else next turn, then prevent it dying, so it keeps on hurting them. And proliferate.
Goading is still good when it's down to 1v1, since they still have to attack with a creature they'd rather not attack with. The real trouble is that shield counter. Good way to handle that is with something like Caltrops or Lightmine Field.
Forcemage is better than it looks in that deck. You are able to tape it at instant speed to stop aggressive players from swinging. I actually think you should priority's ways to distribute counters at instant speed to have a finer control of the board. I think you would want to play this deck as a control/combat control deck.
Just got this precon and this commander really speaks to me.. to me, hes an upgrade from the usual +1/+1 counters decks. And there were many good points this video brought up. Nullmage Advocate - Not only is this a good political card, but also, a sort-of GY hate, esp for recursion decks. Proliferate seems to be the all star, as it can get around most forms of protection, like Hexproof, Ward, etc.
so when it gets down to 1v1 and you're up against the guy who you shielded and buffed up can they just.... not attack you? leading to a boring ass 1v1?

You mean cards that grant your opponent an extra combat turn?
Isnt there an otter that gives extra turns to enemies
@@damionwhitehead1165 while it isnt in kros' colors, something like najeela, the blade blossom can add a combat phase on opponents turns and even buff the creatures further
Or skip your turn I guess.
Or just constantly resolve magosi before your turn
If ward is weaker hex proof, shield counters are weaker indestructible
They’re sorta like totem armor
Bro im baked tland this just blew my mind

Nice call

My first instinct was Shield counters for me and infect counters for everyone else lol.
This commander does the strategy of one of my deck concepts, that being group voltron with Kydele and Arden
Massive flavor win, not super overpowered, but still very playable, this is fantastic card design.

My guess is that shield counters might become the new regeneration replacement
They can be proliferated and stacked & if exiled, Ozalith saves the counters (obviously only for your creatures, or ones you steal).
Goad in pillow fort colors. This won't get ridiculous at all.
I can't get over how similarly the intro music sounds to "Rebellion (Lies)" by Arcade Fire XD
I’ve got to put this in my 5 color -1/-1 counter commander deck.
What’s the commander
@@lucascova7875 etched monstrosity but he’s not legendary otherwise I will just use kenrith
The new partner commanders would be dope in this as well, Rhoda and Timin
Oh snap that would be fun
Loving the fact they introduced Divine Shield here in Mean Streets of Gadgetzan,I mean New Cavenna :D
Capenna was a thing before the hearthstone set. Release date does not mean inception date.
The Ultimate _Sleep Agent_ daddy:
Give them Sleeper agent, stop it blocking, make it attack someone else next turn, then prevent it dying, so it keeps on hurting them.
And proliferate.
Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants (and other similar ability Planeswalkers) that gets protected by goad are also worth a mention.
A couple good finishers you might like are Azor’s Elocutors and Simic Ascendancy being you have all that proliferate in there…
Norns decree is a Fun Addition, also Azors Elecutors can be a funny alt Wincon, with alot of Proliferate
How Dare you Eddie!
How about -1/-1 infect counters? Both Necropede and Tangle Angler have infect and you can decide which creature gets the counters
Strange to see Goad so prominent outside red
i like goad but realistically a commander who’s only has goad abilities struggles when it gets down to a 1v1. kind of hard to be fully invested for me

@@AspelShuyin or run bounce removal. Shield counters care about damage and destroy effects.
Use the fact that you also tap creatures when you put counters on them. Proliferate all its creatures and you have an open field.

I'm making a Tivit deck
Love the look of this commander sooo janky slough when it gets to 1v1 u wanna keep it in the command zone
Just build their creatures and save a reins of power/ cultural exchange to finish them off! 😂
Actually this is the only Goad Commander I've seen that would be viable 1v1 since you can tap down all their blockers and swing lethal
@@evanragland4930 oh yeah that’s really cool ur probably right
@@MarcosAntonio-fl5ox beating them with your own creatures ;)
Easily my favorite of the commander precons.
Of all the broker commanders there is i feel this is the MOST broker of them all!
Dang it Eddie! Get it together, man!
When it's down to you and your last opponent, Caltrops will help get rid of that shield counter.
Did you consider Magnetic Web? Or is that too Janky for you?
I love totems. I don't understand why they aren't in more decks.
Extra Turns?
Karazikar feels like a better Goad commander. Bigger, makes you draw and goad without having to include awkward cards in the deck.

Another card I think could work is Verity Circle, since Kros's ability taps down your opponents creatures anyway.
Looks fun!
its a goad mechanic that doesnt draw you all of the aggro, nice
so when it gets down to 1v1 and you're up against the guy who you shielded and buffed up can they just.... not attack you? leading to a boring ass 1v1?
You'd be tapping down his creatures, so might be able to get in some damage.
put in cards to steal your opponents creatures for the 1v1
consider verity circle and magnetic web
You forgot infect. Infect for the win

JESUS, EDDIE! WHY?
Am I a horrible person for considering putting this into Derevi?
You’re just horrible for playing Derevi.
Use this against eldrazi 😳😳😳
I’m gonna annoy SOOOO many people…
How about talking about another interesting commander? Falco Spara also deserves attention in my opinion
