What else would you add about Se?

    • @gooddaygene8355
      @gooddaygene8355 2 роки тому +3

Another example: Si as one perspective then add another Si, and another, and collectively they will provide an Se / "all perspective." Imagine 5 cameras at different points of a room all showing different feeds. Se will be the combination of all of that. Se feels connected to all of that, it is all of that.
Good Se will understand that what it sees is not "all there is", that there is something missing which is "seeking" Ni. "Bad" Se will say this is what it is and it cannot be anything else (it "insists" that it has all 5 feeds.) It has no idea that there are rooms outside of the room it is in because it doesn't even know it is in a room. A room is a "box" within a space. Meaning there is something inside and outside. Gotta know there is a box in order to be able to think outside of it, much less about it. Ni can do that. When Ni does that it "leaves" the room. Insert Plato's cave allegory.
We attribute that to Si, however, I am starting to notice that when a type is in "grip" it actually starts at the first function. Our "hero" is being overtaken by our "nemesis" so 5/1 not 1/5. When that happens we experience "grip." So where as Si would know it was just one feed and know it is missing info, it is now in "grip" and works like a "dark" Se insisting its one Si "feed" is the same as all other possible feeds. Insert negative SJ stereotypes here:/
Or, another aspect via another analogy: Ni is a telescope that shows you where to go. Final destination. Se is the journey. Ni leads are often hampered by all the Ne "possibilities" which unlike Ne dom / optimistic are Ne pessimistic. If you let those "win" / override that ONE thing Ni wants, game over. Conversely, this is why Ne dom is all over the place, it fights that Ni "one path." Unless Ne lets Ni "win" then you got a depressed Ne dom. Sad face.
There is a lot to be said for "healthy" and "unhealthy" flow of functions. But I will mention S/N that most people seem to overlook and the distinction is crucial.
S is aware of N concepts but they are just concepts until specific experience and correlating concept are linked. Usually, as it is happening. Overlay. Match. Somatic reinforcement. The body and mind "know" together can reference the same data (modulated differently.) So for S concepts come later. For N concepts come first.

The way I experience Se is full integration with the outside world. If I drive a car, it’s like I become one with the car. As if the car becomes an extension of myself. I feel the traction of the wheels, the work the engine is putting into it, and the grip of the clutch when I shift gears. It also gives me a good sense of the limits.
I’ve the same sensation of connecting to my environment when rowing with my crew. I feel what the crew members are doing, the flow of the boat, even the vibrations of the rudder. I like the stimulus of all the external data. The incoming data is processed in real time by my Ti-Fe while my Se acts upon it.
I believe that’s why we ESTPs are not overwhelmed by chaos or crisis. It’s not happening to us because we are part of it (i.e. fully integrated with our environment) and that gives a sense of control.

That's an interesting take on it.
ISFP here and your description of driving a car (or other activity) is exactly how I feel it, though perhaps to a slightly lesser degree.
To me Se is like a background program that is constantly running, scanning the environment, but only comes to the forefront when it picks up on something out of place, or I choose for it to.

This is series is very important, I'm thakful to see you bringing Jung's perspectives, that are usually not discussed.

One funny thing is that you used the word "trust" to discribe your inferior function. I, an ISTJ, always felt people had "faith" in intuition.

"faith in intuition" well said coming from an ISTJ ! That makes sense to me. 👍

P as the 4th letter in one's type means that one's top perceiving function is extraverted. Which means one's top judging function will be introverted.
J as the 4th letter in one's type means that one's top judging function is extraverted. Which means one's top perceiving function will be extraverted.
I wrote this comment on the Si video, but I figured I'd type it here as well...

If you add in the Ni stuff everything gets spooky as in the fog rolls in. The esfp girls at 17 will make an excuse to say hi to you (Ni Dom) , but you catch on that the Ni made the excuse and the conscious part of them is unaware. As in their own subconscious Ni tricked their conscious because it wanted to say hi to you. Which is very cute and also very crazy. The INTJ girls know about this. But as usual they are quiet... they don't like being misunderstood by 95% of people. Also the part where esfp catch the same mood you are in which is good if a good mood. But if bad mood some of them blame you they think you did it deliberate. They think I am a freaking witch. Omg. Internally I'm sorry and I didn't do it deliberate and I'm not a witch you crazy person!
