This is another song written for and to us, the Clique. Tyler had been hearing from fans, particularly young fans, about their mental health struggles they've dealt with. A lot of us have gone through a lot of the same things he has, which is something he does not take lightly. "Guns for hands" is referring to the fact that we all have the ability to willingly hurt ourselves, either by self-harm or taking our own lives altogether. With this song, he's begging us not to use those "guns" on ourselves ("Don't take it, don't take it"), because he loses sleep at the thought of losing any one of us. He and Josh care so deeply about us, and it's one of the million reasons I will love them forever! ❤️ Oh, yeah: And the red and blue tape symbolise the two colors of TOP's symbol during that time! I wonder if it's a precursor to the yellow tape you see in the Lore...👀👀👀
Thank you so much for explaining the meaning behind the song. I really appreciate it 🙂 🫂❤️ At first I thought I was kind of close to understanding it, but I didn't realize that Tyler was actually talking about himself as far as the one losing sleep, and that he is talking directly to the clique. That definitely gives the song a much more profound and deeper meaning now.
@fair explained it really well. In knowing what the message of the song is, and that other fans have experienced feeling that way, it is incredibly powerful to see the whole crowd raise their 🔫 hand symbols in the air and then turn them to fists when he says “it’d be best for them to turn their guns into a fist”. It’s like we’re all together vowing to not hurt ourselves and stay alive together in that moment and it’s just beautiful that their music can inspire that hope in so many people ❤
Hey sis 👋🏻🙂🫂❤️ I definitely agree with you that Fairfarren gave a great explanation. I thought I was kind of close regarding the meaning behind the song, but I didn't realize Tyler was actually talking about himself and talking directly to the clique. That definitely gives the song a much deeper and more special meaning now 🙂🫂❤️
This is probably the song by TOP that I am the most protective of (and I know I am not alone in this, SherryBandito feels the same way). Tyler’s emotions in this MV really show in his emotional tics and less thoughtful watchers and reactors just think he is being weird. My own son Tyler has very similar emotional tics.
