Although I know this is a stream, THANK YOU for not having the chat on the screen! So many of the people that turned to uploading their streams on here like to keep that chat up and its distracting. Also, so awesome that you are reacting to TOP! They are my favorite and I look forward to more reactions of them!!!
Tyler [Joseph] is the singer/guitarist & bassist/pianist/synth, tambourine, & shaker player, as well he's the primary writer/creater of TØP's music & The Lore; Josh [Dun] drums, occasionally plays synth/organ, participates in singing from time-to-time, as well Josh plays trumpet, & works electronic percussion tools, such as the Rolland drum pad; & Paul Meany is a producer that will assist Tyler in formulating & producing a few tracks. I feel like most of us can relate to a lot of TØP's music, but this song specifically speaks loudly to those of us that experience insomnia/parasomnia. Many of us are intentionally insomniacs, as we would rather avoid the nightmares & constant replaying of traumas in our minds. I literally have a hardcore sleepwalking condition, & the more my thoughts veer towards painful, dark memories, the more my body avoids entering deep &/or REM sleep; furthermore, when I'm experiencing high stress moments in my day-to-day life, I have many more &/or more intense sleepwalking episodes. My bf decided he was going to sneakily record me during some of my sleepwalking episodes, as I often awaken him @ various times throughout the night, & I wound up walking all over my apt, up & down my iron, spiral stairs, in & outta dark rooms, standing in 1 spot for hrs, & it looked creepy af, as if my body was a marionette being controlled by some external, invisible force. I'm covered in scars & healed fractures from collapsing during sleepwalking episodes that went on for so long that my body eventually collapses where I stand. Sleepstudies galore indicate my brain enters something akin to a "waking dream state" wherein my brain refuses to cut off my motor cortex to allow myself to recover, & I instead act out the dreams that are occurring in the moment. It's all rather crazy, but this song is legit like my anthem, lol.
you've probably heard their hits - they are from Columbus and still live here! they shot a video for every song on this last album and most are in Columbus Vignette is another good one from new album, but there's no bad ones
All his lyrics have multiple meanings. Crazy layers. You should do the lore videos in order. It starts with "heavydirtysoul" then "jumpsuit" it's a fun journey and the videos are as creative as the music and lyrics. Actually you need to watch "chlorine" before you start that journey
Love this! Such a talented duo. You’d love The Hype Berlin session because you see him reconstruct the song and see how he works. Tyler does almost everything as far as lyrics and even produces and then Paul Meany helps him perfect it. He plays multiple instruments. It’s a lot for 2 guys! 😂
i’m a huge pilots fan and i love hearing new listeners discover them! i’d definitely recommend listening thru trench, it’s such a well produced album!!!!
LoveloveLOVE this song so much; It's one of my absolute favorites from their latest album, Clancy! I'm so happy that you liked it! As somebody who deals with insomnia due to severe anxiety, I can't tell you how much I resonate with the idea of not neing able to sleep, because your regrets and fears keep playing over and over in your head. I don't know how, but this song captures that perfectly. And you're 100% right, that Twenty One Pilots are a duo: Josh Dun on the drums, and Tyler Joseph as the lead singer/rapper/lyricist/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. They are such insanely talented artists, it's unreal, and I can't wait for you to hear more of their amazing catalog! The Clancy album is a masterpiece, honestly, but I would definitely recommend checking out two of my personal favorites: Next Semester, and Midwest Indigo, the latter of which is actually about Ohio!
You did a great job for a first listen. TOP songs often speak about mental health. When you are going through "stuff," it can feel like you are very alone, but you are not. So many restless nights for all of us that we can relate and know we are not alone. Somehow, it is empowering to know that. This song has some Easter eggs in it for the lore. You might want to consider jumping down the TOP rabbit hole. You will not be sorry.
Wolf, Ohio was the 1st stop on NF's Hope tour. 21 pilots were there. 21 pilots came to Nashville and guess who was there. NF. Mad respect between the 2. Love this song. Whole album is 🔥
Go down the twenty one pilots rabbit hole! Also, there is a whole lure to their music!! They are amazing!! Also, your interpretation was pretty damn good!!!
Oh! yeah like the monotone of it matches with their lore and how they use language. Routines in the Knight like, being stoic. Cuz sometimes when ppl are put under pressure ppl disassociate which I call spocking out cuz I talk like I'm spock. So really embodying traveling the body and mind as the Knight/night kinda leaves you dreamy and disassociated, pulled out the body. but hey that's just a theory. and twenty one pilots is all about that, the branches of ideas. You'll find they consistently surprise you :3
And scaled and icy I forgot. And then there's the albums that are not part of the lore, self titled, regional at best (I'm including it as an album even though it's not an official album.) And vessel, these are the old albums.
TOP is amazing & its cool the algorithm brought me to you 🙂 i loved your reaction & interpretation. Its their lyrics that just resonate. Please do "Car Radio" & "Ode to Sleep" 😁
It’s just those two guys, though sometimes they use an entire band during concerts, especially during the album before this last one, but the band they use is not a part of Twenty One Pilots.
Bro, lol. You're a funny cat. At beginning of video you claim to not have heard TOP except maybe once or twice before. Then halfway thru the video you say "you can't put them in a box and if you disagree then...." ....lol. How would u know that u can't put them in a box from experience if you've heard just a couple songs like you stated at beginning of video lol.
These reaction tubers need to stop pretending they don't know the songs they are reacting to. Cringe ... act like you arent sure if you ever heard them then get outted by the subscribed button LOLOLOLOLOL

They have a deep catalogue, you should dive into the rabbit hole with them. We basically stalk reactors for TØP reactions.
