I think your natural skin tone concealer will look the best under eyes and the bronzer as eye shadow will look amazing but definitely not entirely covering the under eye. That's what I do and it looks the best. Too bright of a concealer makes your eyes look smaller.
I think this makes a lot of sense, however, when i was using concealer that was exactly the shade of my skin, i thought i looked dull. So when i switched it just a liiitle lighter it brightened up. Just a little however, i agree too bright of a concealer closes the eye

I think the trick is to use the bronzer first, in place of colour correcting, and then go over it with concealer as normal. I saw a more explanatory video somewhere and the side with bronzer underneath the concealer looked very seamless.
I wear bronzer *under* my concealer, not instead of it... and only a little. The idea is to cover the blue to purple eyebags w bronzer, as a type of color corrector. Then lighten up with concealer. In my tone of eyebag it helps cause using just concealer only *highlights* the blue and wrinkles, rather than covering them up. But is not for everyone. Hope it helps tho ❤ (pro tip, extend it a little, and you get a fantastic transition for the blush) consider also a bronzer that is not super dark. If you have plenty of blue and purple, use a very warm tone... if you don't then a less warm one or even subtle contour might do the trick 😊
Bronzer has an orange tone and orange and pinks work better for covering up blue/darker tones. Orange cancels out blue which makes it better for under the eye. 🥰

Why? Just use a concealer that's the same shade as you if you don't like lighter concealers. The bronzer doesn't add coverage and honestly ages you imo (I think its exaggerating the discolouration under your eyes)
the reason this looks good from a facial aesthetics standpoint is the concealer makes your eyes look farther up on your face, thus making your midface look longer which is unattractive. i have never really worn much concealer for this reason. the bronzor is having the opposite effect, it is making the eyes look lower set which gives the illusion of a more compact midface, which is more attractive. its why girls were drawing eye bags awhile ago. it gives the illusion of lowering the eye position. people think the concealer helps the eyes look like they have a more positive canthal tilt which is attractive but you can still give yourself a more positive canthal tilt without the concealer or with an extremely minimal amount of concealer concentrated towards the outer edge of the eye. that will actually give the illusion of a MORE positive canthal tilt than slathering the entire under eye in concealer.
Both look good how could they not cuz ur gorg! But personally I prefer the concealer because it brightens your face and brings more attraction to yours eyes
being a dark skin I've always unknowingly do this cause concealers are too light and sometimes too patchy on my skin so I usually used a light bronzer to blend the foundation
Formulas make more difference than color. I too stopped using concealer. Instead I use another foundation 2 to 3 shades lighter under my eyes. Blends as smooth as foundation should and I do another part of my makeup while it sets. You will see tiny creasing but very easy to blend away. After I clear away any creases I then use a light dusting of powder (Fit Me is a favorite) and I’m crease free all day. Try it! 😊
I don’t love the bright concealer under my eye much either so I always brush just a tiny bit of powder bronzer under my eye to give my under eyes some color and I honestly think it makes me look so much better
If you don’t dig concealer, just get yourself a colour wheel and a colour correcting cream quad. The bronzer is basically performing colour theory due to the warm undertones cancelling out the particular discolouration you have. It will be different for every person as discolouration ranges from blues and purples to browns, pinks and even greens. You need to use the opposite colour to cancel out what you have going on under your eyes. This isn’t a one size fits all. Edit - I’ve worked as an MUA for the past 14 years.

Light concealer always looks too glam to me and it highlights lines if it settles into creases. This blended out beautifully. I think it's the trick to a natural bronzed up summer makeup look.
Use the bronzer as a base and a teeny tiny amount of concealer that matches your skin tone. The bronzer will even out the dark pigmentation and the concealer will make it look more flawless
Bronzer has orange tones in it which counteract the bluish tones of dark circles under the eyes so it's not a bad idea. It's essentially acting as a color corrector. You could place concealer over it if you like as well.
Bronzer has a natural orange-y tint to it, counteracting any blue-ish undertones while the pale concealer does what it's supposed to do: Adding highlights where you put it...
Try using a bronzer and spreading it, then wait a few minutes until it dries, then apply a small layer of concealer. This is the method I use to remove any trace of dark circles. It is really good.
As a makeup room in general, you can use pretty much anything for any other thing that you may have run out of if you are innovative and creative enough!! I've been substituting different items for years
Everyone's talking about the color correcting effect but to me it looks good because it's like contouring for the eye. Imo the light concealer can make the eyes look smaller because it brings out the skin around the eyes more, making the eye appear smaller by contrast. Meanwhile the bronzer kinda shades and contours the eye socket and creates a more large eye effect, a bit Tim Burton-esque.
I use two concealers. A lighter one only to highlight what I want to pop, and a natural one that matches my foundation color for under my eyes. It’s what works for me every time.

It works because bronzers have an orange base. So it's like using a peach color corrector on crack lol It looks even better if you blend out a dot of concealer over top that is an exact match to your skin tone (not a lighter shade. That just emphasizes lines and wrinkles and pretty much everything you're TRYING to conceal in the first place lol )
The eye with the "regular" concealer looks much higher up on your face. It's like it's been "lifted" with an attractive outcome especially when seen right beside the bronzer side. Yes, the bronzer was effective but it didn't _add_ anything attractive as opposed to the "regular" concealer.
Since most bronzers are orangey in tone, the can cancel out the blue circles due to color theory. However, I would add a bit of concealer on top of the bronzer (just a touch), as I saw another UA-camr do, to keep some of the natural skin tone.
The bronzer naturally emphasis the 3D face structure whereas the concealer kind of flatten ps everything. And it makes sense, our eye sockets are naturally deeper, and thus have more shadows so to emphasis the depth you emphasis the shadows
I use bronzer as eyeshadow, under my eyes and a little on the bridge of my nose. However, if the bronzer is too dark under your eyes use a Kleenex to lightly wipe some of it off. 😊

Welcome to how we did makeup in the late 80's early to mid 90's before concealer around the eyes to brighten was really that big a thing. It's all about shadow and depth in the end. Both look good. The brighter one looks more youthful, imo

Its the orange tones in the bronzer. It warms everything up white canceling out the dark circles/shadows. I have an undereye concealer that is much warmer than either of my concealers, but im going to give bronzer a go.
I've always hated how concealer flattens out my eyes and makes them looks smaller, yes even when using one that matches my skin tone and color correcting under. What I do is conceal as normal, but then go back in with contour shade to add dimension again.
I mean, models tend to have dark circles around the eyes because it tends to be more trendy in the industry if you have it. Maybe that’s why? I see the contour around the eye as beautiful too and I actually love dark circles around eyes, but I guess it depends what floats peoples boats
I don't often wear face products since they break me out but when I do I wear a concealer that matches the rest of my face, since I only use 1 product on my face as foundation, and thats Elf's hydrating camo concealer. If it's too light being the same as the rest of your face, maybe try one shade darker, not the same as your bronzer or lighter like highlighter
I really just look at my face to decide what pigments go where lol. I’ve been using a neutral-toned bronzer in my under eye and as blush/bronzer and as contour on the nose and under the neck. I apply a bit of blush as eyeshadow/contour. Find a face product that can be used over a lot of your face and neck, and it’ll look more cohesive than using many different products.
Makes sense because the orange tones in the bronzer will cancel out the under eye bags which are purple usually. Glad I saw this before I bought orange colour corrector.
I use a color corrector under my eyes instead of concealer. It looks a lot more natural and makes you look so much better IMO. concealer just falls into creases especially when you get older. I’m 43, the older you get the less you like concealer. Go with a color that matches your skin or just straight up color correct only.
Yeah it's the orange pigments in the bronzer that is color correcting you. You'll get a similar result if you just use a peachy color correcter before putting your concealer on.
They look amazing! I'd say the bronzer side makes your eye look a little smaller and the concealer side makes your eye stand out a little more, showing off your beautiful eye colour vibrantly ❤
No expert here but I have friends who have dark circles and I think if you applied concealer before the bronzer, it would look like hers because she doesn’t rely have dark circles! Lmk if this helps x
It’s not that it’s been gatekept, it’s the mass social and celebrity media imposing certain beliefs as the right and only way subtly and directly. I have mastered the no make up look and lifestyle and got rid of concealer years ago, have used bronzer ever since so this was nice to see
I figured out a trick with concealer pencil: ONLY put concealer on the outermost edge, of the dark area, of the inner corner. Blend upward, but leave MOST of the undereye, makeup-free. I think, similar idea. It isn't that darkness under the eye actually looks so bad, but it looks like sickness, tiredness, or allergies, when it is darkest at that inner corner.

It's all about shadow and depth in the end. Both look good. The brighter one looks more youthful, imo
It works because it's color theory! It acts like a color corrector, and you young girls go crazy with the concealer- so that's why the warmth looks better- more approachable 😉 your adorable! Keep killing that mkup!

Its the orange tones in the bronzer. It warms everything up white canceling out the dark circles/shadows. I have an undereye concealer that is much warmer than either of my concealers, but im going to give bronzer a go.
Hmm but the bronzer is still very thin so maybe try goin for a darker shade of concealor?

i've been doing a similiar thing for years cause concealer makes my eyes look flat but adding like a bronzer on top adds dimension back

Usually, I'm the lightests shade of concealer so the concealer is my skin tone. It's better imo for concealer to match your skin tone.
I've always hated how concealer flattens out my eyes and makes them looks smaller, yes even when using one that matches my skin tone and color correcting under. What I do is conceal as normal, but then go back in with contour shade to add dimension again.
I mean, models tend to have dark circles around the eyes because it tends to be more trendy in the industry if you have it. Maybe that’s why? I see the contour around the eye as beautiful too and I actually love dark circles around eyes, but I guess it depends what floats peoples boats
I don't often wear face products since they break me out but when I do I wear a concealer that matches the rest of my face, since I only use 1 product on my face as foundation, and thats Elf's hydrating camo concealer. If it's too light being the same as the rest of your face, maybe try one shade darker, not the same as your bronzer or lighter like highlighter
I really just look at my face to decide what pigments go where lol. I’ve been using a neutral-toned bronzer in my under eye and as blush/bronzer and as contour on the nose and under the neck. I apply a bit of blush as eyeshadow/contour. Find a face product that can be used over a lot of your face and neck, and it’ll look more cohesive than using many different products.
Makes sense because the orange tones in the bronzer will cancel out the under eye bags which are purple usually. Glad I saw this before I bought orange colour corrector.
I just use peach corrector, a little bit, and then my foundation does the rest. If I use concealer, it has a peachy base.
I use a color corrector under my eyes instead of concealer. It looks a lot more natural and makes you look so much better IMO. concealer just falls into creases especially when you get older. I’m 43, the older you get the less you like concealer. Go with a color that matches your skin or just straight up color correct only.
I like to use bronzer around my eye as a correcter and then put a light concealer right after the way id normally conceal changed my life ❤

Yeah it's the orange pigments in the bronzer that is color correcting you. You'll get a similar result if you just use a peachy color correcter before putting your concealer on.

They look amazing! I'd say the bronzer side makes your eye look a little smaller and the concealer side makes your eye stand out a little more, showing off your beautiful eye colour vibrantly ❤
No expert here but I have friends who have dark circles and I think if you applied concealer before the bronzer, it would look like hers because she doesn’t rely have dark circles! Lmk if this helps x
That's why it's called concealer to conceal the dark spots but the bronzer is making it more darker
It’s not that it’s been gatekept, it’s the mass social and celebrity media imposing certain beliefs as the right and only way subtly and directly.
I have mastered the no make up look and lifestyle and got rid of concealer years ago, have used bronzer ever since so this was nice to see
I use a colour corrector then dust with powder bronzer. Slays
I figured out a trick with concealer pencil:
ONLY put concealer on the outermost edge, of the dark area, of the inner corner. Blend upward, but leave MOST of the undereye, makeup-free.
I think, similar idea. It isn't that darkness under the eye actually looks so bad, but it looks like sickness, tiredness, or allergies, when it is darkest at that inner corner.
I've been doing this for 13 years. Also, use blush as contour as well. It makes you look healthy and supple opposed to sterile
Both sides look great but the bronzer kind of remindes me of a black eye thats almost healed❤
For me my shade concealer is best for under eyes and my bronzer on the rest of eye is best for me!!!😊
That's because of the undertones in the bronzer. Just use a concealer, that matches your skintone or a peach/ orange colour corrector before concealer
