Cool story, during the reign of AOL, they sponsored a Chris hosted chat meet and greet and my dad joined. Since it was a smaller meet and greet he added each member to his friend list including mine, mom’s and brother’s when asked. We talked with him regularly for two or so years. He would tell us about his upcoming gigs, tour life and family life, sharing pictures of his daughter and then wife. He mostly added all of us to a chat room to catch up. Although, I do recall a time or two where he’d DM me to say hello. He was a nice guy and I loved his music. May he rest in peace to better place and far away from the black-hole sun.
Wow, what a cool story from when the internet felt more friendly and small... You'd never hear of someone doing that now.
🥹 woooooow such an incredible performance to share with us Chris !!!!!!
I miss Chris everyday, still seems untrue he's not around anymore. Can't help but feel down everytime. He was my personal hero. You knocked it out of the park, Chris, I loved this!
So so unbelievably beautiful, what a great tribute to him❤
Chris and Chester's departure shook us deeply and I still mourn them to this day; I'm happy to see that their legacy lives on with amazing people like you. Thanks for your hard work.
Amazing vocals!!!!!! Great demonstration of what you teach and also your own powerful expression.
I still cry when I think about him. Beautiful song.
I'll never be over it, I carry a hole in my heart forever losing Chris like that. I'll carry this pain all the way to my grave.
💙
Damn dude. You absolutely crushed this. I’m blown away
I was pulling an allnighter for a final exam when my sister broke the news to me. Didn't know how I managed to concentrate afterwards. I even dreamed of him afterwards. Gosh I would have loved to meet him in person. He so influenced my singing. You did an awesome job 💯
Seven years ago already... Seems like yesterday when I told everyone I'd give a limb to be able to sing like him...
Haven't lost one yet, and I'm inching ever closer to that goal.
I still tear up thinking about him, sometimes. Wish I got to tell him what his music means to me.
Great cover, Chris, keep up the good work!
So glad you covered this song! When I'm Down is one of his best songs vocally and emotionally
What is the odds. I'm on a SING LIKE C.C. kick . Have been digging for the last 48 hours.. and I find THIS!!!
I knew years ago that Chris was one of God's gifts to us. Yet tortured . Always writing of his search . His question...
I was listening to an AOL live show that he did on the 18th of this month... I sing on weekends when I'm home ( I'm a Coxin in the Canadian Coast Guard) .. I usually cover 3 or 4 of his songs on those evenings and just want to extend my range...
Thanks for your gift to us of these lessons, I'm sorry I don't have much free cash at this time to purchase lessons, but I will share all your works with my musical friends
This song hits me so hard. :')
Well done, Chris! You did the song justice and did C.C. proud🤘😎🤘You're really Rocking Your Best Vocals!!! 😬
I remembered the similar situation (and feeling) when Avicii "passed away. I was in a restaurant just enjoying myself.. RIP❤️ Great job
He was truly one of a kind😭
Thanks for making this tribute Chris🙏
Beautiful song! Beautiful performance bro!
Chris cornell is one of my favorite vocalists of alltime such a big loss🕊🖤
Great tribute! It's always great to hear you singing!
I remember that day too, it was a day before my college graduation. It was a depressing week for me. I wish I could tell him how he inspired me to be a musician too. I've literally had dreams with him in them, its kind of crazy. This cover was really awesome, Chris. You've outdone yourself on this one.
Just discovered Euphoria Morning a few weeks ago and it hooked me in a way no album has before. Amazing tribute, thank you Chris and Chris.
I'm excited for your New reaction Videos and michael jackson Analysis Videos
Thank you! One of my favorites of his. Dark and beautiful.
Such an amazing tribute to an amazing man and artist. Nailed it, my man!
I loved that first solo album of his and that song is certainly at the top. I always felt like so many folks were missing out by not listening more to that record.
Well done as usual, my friend 🤘🏻
You covered my favourite Cornell solo song... You absolutely killed it, Chris! 🥲
That day something broke inside of me and I was in shambles, but I'll never forget his voice and the passion for music he instilled in me since I was a teen!
Such a beautiful song. I was hoping you'd pull it off. You did.
That is a very hard song to sing , and you did a very strong rendition 🙏 I’ve been singing along to it for decades and I’m nowhere lol
❤❤❤❤
last night was the first time i ever recorded myself singing. i sang along to Audioslave's Getaway Car and then dubbed my recorded track over a vocal-less version of the song. i can now confirm i will not ever do karaoke outside of my car by myself. maybe someday the sounds coming from my face will be tolerable. chris cornell is definitely a vocal inspiration for me
My favorite singer. Fairly sure he's what drew me to your channel, btw. I think it was your video breaking down the "Black Hole Sun" isolated tracks.
Such a beautiful and heart felt tribute. Tears and shivers. Thank you for introducing people like me to Cornell. 🙏 What an amazing talent and tragic loss.
Beautiful❤ well done 👏👏👏👏
very good
10 hours late.. f man.. I'm an 18 year old that didn't even know of him until it was too late. Now all I do is listen to his songs and covers, such a beautiful man. Him and Staley break me down every time.
This was amazing, man ❤️ well done. One of my favourite performances of yours so far.
Yes! So glad you did it. That was exceptional and even more so for it being a full take. Really great from "I know you’re reaching out…" to the end. For the track is that an original with vocal cancel? A video or paid course breaking down some of the harder lines would be gold.
Nice Brother!
🔥❤️🤟
I’ve been watching your videos of how to sing like Chris, I decided I’m gonna go do open mic I’m definitely gonna do When I’m down
Thank you for sharing! Sorry for your loss!
he also does that exhausted sound when he says "YOUH" in the live version
so good
great job dude,really cool.
I always find it so strange how somebody you never met can impact your life in such way. When Joey Jordison died in 2021, a drummer and founding member of Slipknot, I was shocked. Without him I would never pick up the instrument and probably would never venture on a path of music. It has became such big part of me I am simply left wondering who would I be today without him and his music.
It is tragic we lost so many gifted people to mental illness. Their cries for help aid us to mend our wounds and yet we often selfishly ignore theirs. We need to listen better and I know it's hard because these people are often in denial so they hurt us back to keep their distance.
Oh man, I’ve never felt an artists death like I felt Cornell’s. Felt that shit for a whole week. One of my heroes since I was a teenager. That man’s throat and song writing utterly changed my life, and I KEEP learning from him to this very day!!! RIP Chris 🖤🖤
Beautiful tribute🦋
Fantastic vocals with such emotional conviction!
Well done Chris💛
Rest in power Chris
I miss Chris Cornell so much. That was a really nice, heartfelt tribute.💙
May 18th, 2017 was one of the worst days of my life hearing that he left us. It was my mom that shared the news to me early in the morning that day and she knows how much Chris was an idol to me. Not only one of the greatest rock voices on the planet but also a huge influence for me musically. I got into Audioslave first cause I was a kid in the early 2000's then Soundgarden came later. Hearing the song Like A Stone on the radio then discovering their self titled masterpiece of an album. Also Superunknown & Badmotorfinger being my favourite Soundgarden albums. I miss him everyday his music will always live on with me. RIP Legend! \m/
Beautiful. 😢😢😢 rip 🙏
He had such a great voice and music throughout his career and the many bands he was apart of. Great tribute. Could you please analyze and react to U.S.A for Africa-We Are the World
Great video Chris. He truly was the greatest ❤️
That gave me the chills....
rest in peace you absolut legend
Great tune! 🙏🏼
Goosebumps! ❤️
Thank you ♥
beautiful tribute.
I think I mentioned or recommended this song on one of your videos years ago. life is fleeting and we should should cherish every moment
my favourite performance by cornell, now my favourite yours performance. amazing work chris. tell me - when you sing refrain you are in constant mix or just higher parts when you are using distrortion?
Such a talented musician. A troubled soul, victim of childhood abuse. He fought long and hard.
It stills rings strange to me, the way he passed away.. he couldn’t have been himself there…
He’s a spring and beacon of music, one who breathed and ate music.. like Jeff Buckley.
I always think about that Poncier tape he made on the film singles, just cause he was inspired and well nothing could occupy him like making music did. Rest in peace genius
❤
American idol winning performance
Damn
love your reactions and your tips for vocal training chris, i would like to suggest zezezezettai seiiki ft. Lilas ikuta First take
sehr geil
sounds awesome dude! do you pitch correct at all? just something a bit synthy about this in places idk.
make one for chester in the next month
At some point I want to do a crossover tribute: a Chris Cornell song in the style of Linkin Park and a Linkin Park song in the style of either Chris Cornell's solo work, or one of the bands he was in. It could be the heaviest version of Scream the world has ever heard, or Crawling on juist acoustic guitars and vocals. I think that could be a lot of fun.
