I thought the 3" barrel was a smooth bore too, but after cleaning the barrels I discovered that all 3 are rifled. And another bonus, the 3" barrel is actually 3 3/4" long. I find it's just as accurate at short ranges as the longer ones. I'm in the USA, I don't know if that makes a difference. Love your videos, keep up the good work.

Bought one of these (Night Stalker) based on your review and wow, I have similar all metal blow backs costing me twice what I've paid for this pistol and no laser. Crosman seems to hold true to it's budget priced air guns and instead of making them cheaper over time, they are actualy better. I have two other Crosmans that came in a blister pack and the build quality was very surprisingly good, better then some higher priced ones from a different manufacturer.

I have the original from many years ago, with the fake wood grips. It was my first airgun. I bought it as a kit. 3", 6" and the 8" barrels. The 8" however is all metal and also came with a scope. Looks cool but VERY heavy. 30+ years old and still performs.

  • @billythepigeon7345

I haven't added a new pistol to my collection for some time, and I like a good budget gun, the triple threat might be the next gun. I already have and umarex 586 with 4", 6", and 8" barrels. I doubt the crosman could match it for build quality but it would be good to see how it compares. BTW, the longer barrel gives the pellet more time under acceleration as the gas is still expanding, hence higher figures.

Andy, purchased a "night stalker" after watching your review. It took me a while to set up the laser (similar to you, I can see the sights with glasses on but cannot see the target, take glasses off and it is the opposite), anyway when set up I cannot believe how accurate this gun is for a BB! At 8 metres it is almost BB on BB. One thing you didn't mention is that the gun is loud!! The blow back is very good and this is the first, lock open after last shot I have shot, it's great. Had some great fun shooting chalk targets, you should mention these types, great fun. Keep up the excellent reviews Andy, I look forward to every Friday.

Very nice review Andy, very well made with good and clear explanations and demonstration of technical and practical aspects. I have the revolver with 6" barrel only, and from my experience it is capable to better grouping at the same distance, my best grouping was of 4 pellets in the same spot, almost creating one pellet size hall, and in an other time 3 pellets exactly in the same hall. I was pretty surprised. It is very reliable, accurate, has good power and fun to shoot. I can tell that the other pistol surprisingly is a novelty for me, especially the built in laser which is simple but adds pretty much. I did not know of its existence, though it looks pretty interesting. Thank you very much for this wonderful review, I enjoyed watching, gave a big 👍with smile added 🙂

Very informative video, Thanks. I was more interested in the revolver & loading the Co2 & comparing it to a Daisy winchester 4.5 special I have recently purchased. The Co2 loading which I thought might be the same as my daisy, wasn't & looked much better. My daisy revolver, when loading the capsule, you have to slide the grip to one side & because it is very flimsy/thin tends to fall off & difficult to replace, the adjustable sights on the daisy are a joke over 8 -9 yards. Waste of time & my money. Thanks again Andy.

And yet another nice review! Thank you Andy!
Just love these Friday 9 o'clock coffee breaks at work.. Andy's videos just seem to come up rightabout right on time every single Friday..
That Night Stalker does not seem bad at all. Could do a new paintjob on the whole slide to cover all that white up.. but why bother? The accuracy was way good! Nice to get the batteries for the laser along in the package. And even nicer to see the batteries can't fall accidentally outta there.. Bought once a laser for my ASG CZ P-09 pellet pistol. The battery lid was underneath the laser and without any decent locking sysyem (woulda loved a tiny screw there). And since the P-09 kicks like a sob - the lid always opened after a few shots - dropping batteries onto the floor..
That revolver reminded me of some old Gamo revolver my dad owns. A bit plasticky for sure. But I would not mind shooting one - esp with the 8" barrel.
Always so entertaining. Remember that dual-fuel/dual-ammo thing from some comment in an older AAR video.😂 But. As also said in the beginning; "Airgun". And these airguns also seems to work with co2 as fuel. Hence: "dual-fuel".😂😂

With the Triple Threat 'revolver' I found that the 6 inch barrel was the more manageable one to shoot with, yes the 8 inch gives slightly better accuracy but
heavier, the 3 inch barrel was, in my opinion, and as Andy pointed out, the preferred one for BB's as it is NOT rifled.
That gun with the dubious name 'splashed' on it stayed right there in the darned blister package and in the store. I will not (knowingly ) buy a gun with that on it. If by chance
I do happened to be tricked into buying one of these I will immediately take it out in my work shop and paint over that 'advertising'.
Not bad guns, generally, and I would strongly suggest that you buy more of those pellet holders ( magazines ) as you will be wanting to keep shooting, won't you?

You could get a silver Black Ops snubby for about the same price n about the same fps but probably better quality, but it may not be on the market yet, but it's coming soon anyways.

I bought my Son the exact same gun, the .457 copy by Crossman but mine was not called The triple threat and only came with 8in rifled barrel fitted and obviously your a much better shot than me but Andy with mine I punch every 10 shots in the bull at that distance just looking down the irons, it also is 4.01ft/lbs pal (Said 4.8 on card in bubble pack). That being said I wanna buy that Gamo/BSA GX rifle with the suppressors, scope, thumbhole stock and pump.
In garden my lad bought kids fun snaps and I use foil to set them up around the little metal animals in my long pellet catcher (it's quite good actually as when you have knocked down all the targets you shoot a small circle one and the magnetic bar they all stuck to turns and they all pop back up again) and I even hit them like 7/10. It's suberb accuracy for little gun, I'm glad I never bought a little walther or berretta copy by Umarex that would just about push 2ft/lbs and probably be a BB gun.
*Edit. Note to Gabe, watch end of vid before commenting. Hehe Your 8in grouping was better. You said it's still not as nice as 'high end' umerex but they BB Andy and even for plinking they pretty lame unless ur at a Spanish fair stall and the target is an arms reach away. I'm happy with that Crossman, it's like the rat catcher they did or rabbit was it? Anyway same power honestly I am always nicely surprised with the first 20 shots. Goes through 2 milk plastic cartons and digs in the third stuck. One of my old rifles does not, LoL.
The old SMK/Chinese Westlake spring packs a little punch for beginners doesn't it? Plinking not hunting. Only nice thing about those Umarex copies is as you say they feel like the real thing, whether that's a good thing or not I don't know.

The Crosman tripple threat and vigilante are just differently styled versions of the model 357 ( colt python based ) which has been around since 1983 is a well proven design.
The 357 had some things going for it that make it more desirable, but you had to buy the -4, -6, and -8 depending on the barrel length you wanted and and they never offered a kit with the different barrel lengths.

17:07 They may not look as good as the umarex replicas, but I bet the Crosmans will long outlive the umarex guns.

You are either wrong, or crossman took your advice... I just purchased the triple threat, the 3 inch IS in fact riffled.... it ISN'T a smooth bore...

I think I'm suffering from barrel envy, my Umarex S&W is only 6",.......

It's sad that umarex stopped making the 8" version of the 586/686, thankfully I managed to pick up one of each second hand.

@@billythepigeon7345 I saw a complete kit for sale recently, 4", 6" and 8" barrels, pistol, and a bunch of mags,.... was quite tempted, but couldn't justify it already owning one. I love the 6" though, my favourite thing is setting up a couple of silhouette 'bad guy' targets at different ranges left/right, then I have an app on my phone that randomises 'left' and right' with a random delay, so it picks a target, and I then 'Mozambique' said target.

@@engineeredlifeform I've ended up with three, they're great guns. 586 with 8" barrel, 686 with 8" barrel and shoulder stock, and a 586 with all three barrels. I've got like an illness or something.

Is the Umarex Legends S60 a worthy competitor to the Colt and DW ?
