After being thrown off the Green Bay Packers football team Dick Afflis turned to professional wrestling. Creating havoc across the country, The Bruiser eventually owned and promoted the WWA out of Indianapolis. Bob Orton Sr was a hated heel across the country and under a mask as The Zodiac. I remember The Bruiser back in the mid-60's at The Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles walking around with a short stogie and shouting out * ' Where's my beer ?' *

Great match! That's why Bob Jr and Randy Orton are such good workers. They get it from Sr!

There's also footage available of Dick the Bruiser v. Bob Orton Jr. Bruiser had incredible longevity. Some might say he stuck around too long, but he's a legend.

I miss those days where you could just sit back, enjoy the carnage, smoke a big thick stogie and guzzle a cold beer while checking out the action! Of course Bruiser would later partner with Wilbur Snyder & Jim Barnett in acquiring the then-NWA Indianapolis territory which would morph into the Indianapolis WWA promotion when he bought the operation, briefly holding memberships in both the AWA & NWA at one point......

Dick Afflis got "kicked off" the Packers? I thought that he just didn't make the team. These were the days when Leo Nomellini (look him up - 49ers) used to spend his offseason wrestling. By the way there were a few Dick the Bruisers around, but Dick Afflis was THE bruiser.

Here, Dick basically took "little Dick" for face rides on Orton's mug in between actually wrestling him, until he felt like making Orton submit...I bet "little Dick" left the ring thoroughly "satisfied" and still throbbin between Dick's legs as he strutted back to the locker room, just jutting out of the front of Dick's damp gear...
