MY MAN THANK YOU SO MUCH! I just started playing tarkov last week and have been struggling with the pvp, especially indoors. Ive played counter strike my whole life so the mechanics were very confusing until you shed light on it. Literally the FIRST raid after i watched this video, i ran up onto a house that 4 people died in and the last one was upstairs: I had the best cat and mouse game with him, running away, circle peaking, being hard to hit... then i hit him with the fake sprint away after taking damage you talked about, and he jumped down the stairs to chase me and i got him midair... extracted with so much loot and the scavs that go into that house will be happy!
Fantastic video. As a reminder for myself, and others maybe: Actually go do these things in an offline raid, follow each tip and mess around with it then continue to the next. Really helps me take it in so I'm more likely to use it
Only 2k likes off of 36k views is criminal for this. This is must-watch content for all beginners, and that's with me sitting on 8k hours played. Nicely done Desmond, and thanks for sharing.
I've been watching streamers play this game for years and they make it look easy. There's definitely a steep learning curve for the controls. It's going to take some time to get used yo this game
With the key binds and how you were talking about left peeking while strafing left I get that. That’s why I swapped my left and right peek around so I can peek left by pressing my E key and still am able to comfortably strafe left with my A key. Just some food for thought
Coming from someone who has been working on mechanics after watching his first vid, actively working on these techniques has helped me tremendously! 🔥🔥 content my guy.
Really great in depth guide! I play SPT and not sure how much will apply to fighting bots but I still can apply a lot. There are so many decisions that go on strategically before fights get to these points though, how people know when to sprint or creep, where other players likely are, and that overall "game sense" is beyond me. Id love to see a guide on the strategic thought process of where you go on the map and how you get there before fights break down to this kind of tactical detail.
I found this video in my recommended and when I started it I was like "fuck, its a 30 minute video". I watched every second. This is a gold mine. Coming from fast paced shooters I've always been uncomfortable with the movement and jumping in Tarkov because the inertia feels so weird, I never felt like I could push someone like I do in apex, but after having watched this I feel way more confident in the movement. You've opened my eyes. Thanks a lot dude
wow, this is pure gold! absolutly awsome video man! I have 2000 hours in the game, but its like videos like this, that will take may game to a whole new level! You are the king! Thanks man!
DUDE I absolutely subscribed after watching, so much info from this video and I have a 1000k plus hours in-game, plus time in SPT Tarkov. And there's tons of new info in this video for even me. so crazy about the windows on customs who TF knew you could literally crouch threw an unbroken window on customs that explains a lot of some perceived sus plays around that area of the map; as-well as your info on dorms! You're a legend sir! I will be a watcher of your channel!
Btw, whenever you're loading in match, press movement keys in circular way so it feels natural. That pretty much is OP in every game and your movement will be more crisp in general.
incroyable... franchement je pense à ta chaione régulièrement et la quantité d'informations que tu apportes est vraiment incroyable. je te souhaite vraiment un max de réussite
I'm super new with less than 200 hours in game and I'm not anywhere close with being good at pvp, loot tetris, map knowledge, game knowledge, and let alone movement. The way you explain things in this video is so streamline, perfectly thought out, and right to the point with no fluff, that I KNOW without a question of a doubt that you know what your talking about. Great and amazing video! Now I just got to apply this along with everything else to get slightly better at the game and hopefully win more fights😅. I love the game but die so much just from scavs that pvp with players is barely a thought. Thank you again and ill watch move videos in the future! I just need more help 🤣
I don't play PC games, but I'm surprised that everyone does the introduced keyboard work without any problem. I don't even play cell phone games, so I respect you.
i lean left on "e" and right on "q" takes a little while to get used to but its a huge game changer, feels so much more natural with ur fingers and I am 1000% more confident now when leaning and moving
Insanely informative. I don't see nobody else sharing things like this. Been playing on and off since 2017 and there's a ton of new things I'm learning from your vids.
Thank you so damn much, I feel like 80% of my deaths have been explained, I never felt more urge to open the game and try something out I just learnt, Insta like and subscribe
Now I understand why my game movement was so clunky compare to all these tarkov streamers. I was trying to mimic the playstyle without knowing the hows which would make me just halt on the spot or slowdown. Thanks a lot for this video and also at the same time, I'm worried base level of chad plays of everyone will be much higher.
This dude be out here making Tarkov look like Titanfall 2. Meanwhile, I get stuck on fence vaults and stumble into minefields. Aftger watching this video Im probably going to break my legs twice a raid. Thanks for that very comprehensive guide
As a beginner trying to get into EFT thank you! This guide is incredibly in-depth compared to all the others on YT. Also subbed :) keep up the great content dude
This is extremely helpful. I've played 4 wipes, got kappa in the last 3 and I still learned something from this video. Perhaps get a friend to come into an offline raid with you and get them to record their POV then show them side by sides. A bit of a nightmare to edit but would visualise what you're saying.
Havent watched the video yet but already know its gonna be a banger. Your content are among the best in the tarkov community in my opinion. Keep up the insane content.
This is probably one of the best videos on how to play the game ever. all these techniques need to be described in game to help new players... that will never happen though.
Great video! Super helpful. I learned a ton. Thanks for taking the time and effort! 1. I switch my Q and E which frees up my fingers with keeping essentially the same keybind. 2. Just some constructive feedback. If you were to get a second person to help give you the other point of view for a lot of your points it would make this legendary. But also understand the tremendous undertaking and time that takes and get why that isn't necessarily feasible.
I love the depth of this video. Some of these things I've been totally overlooking or doing subconsciously, without realizing what I'm doing, so all really good call outs and tips. Would you consider doing an updated video on left-hand peeking with the new updates this wipe?
This is an incredibly good video on the movement topic, when/why to use it, and the how(with inputs showing!). I love the content @DesmondPilak, watched your stuff for quite some time and it is great to see this kind of video from a player of your caliber!
17:40 I like this. Sometimes if im in cover or pushing and get shot at , I prone then peek low cover. people usually assume you are either dead or arent ready to aim so low
I do have some advice on leaning coming from a long background of rb6, if you flip the keys so that q is right and e is left you can jiggle peak and swing corners harder with less effort on your fingers.
regarding lean keys, you can also swap E and Q, so that leaning right is on Q and leaning left is on E. that way when you walk up to position to lean right, you press D to strafe right and Q, with another finger, to lean right. When you go back into cover, you want to unlean anyways, so the finger can slide from Q one row down to A. Lean left is just everything mirrored
I just found you, this is a blessing. BTW I use ctrl to crouch. You don't press it with your pinky, you press it with the side of your hand, like the inner side of the knuckle. That effectly allows me to press 6 keys at once without doing anything weird like rolling my finger on keys or pressing 2 keys with a single finger.
love the videos. carried some of the tips from the first tutorial and it has really made a difference. I think one aspect ppl dont talk about enough is how to use nades in a smart way, instead of just spamming in panic. the "guy inside a room" in the beginning of this video. wouldnt that be the perfect opportunity for a nade kill?
I have 3500 hours in tarkov now and yes every wipe I've gotten better but i do need to start using parkor like you and willerz do as they're Def really useful. And most time if you get into a fight with someone that can do this stuff 98 percent of the time they will win. Great video and you are def a goat bro.
As a somewhat "veteran" of the game, I didn't not expect to get so many new tipps and tricks. Great work. But now I am questioning, if this is the beginner guide, what advanced movements are there?!
Great video again did learn alot of thing i did not know,. maby a cool idea to see it from the " Enemie '" His perspective aswell, with the jump / peaks etc so we really can see how quick thing are going, Thanks for al the Tips ! Hoping for more video's like this in the Future !
I dont think people understand how much effort goes in to making a video like this…
Thank you des!
Yeah hitting record is high effort not everyone can do it. So much effort

Hands down the BEST, most comprehensive movement video for Tarkov I've ever seen.
This guy gives more helpful info on UA-cam than the tarkov "coaches" ever do 🤯
Desmond and NoGeneral carrying the coaching meta.

I'm enjoying the fire selector ASMR across all your different tutorial videos.
i think one of the biggest and most useful videos you could do is a guide to pathing and how to properly play maps and where you should/shouldnt go
By far the best Tarky vid i have come across!
After 1400+ hours ingame i just leveled up massivly in about half an hour watching this.
Amazing!

really really helpful mechanic guides! i was searching for such vids for a long time since not many channels touch on mechanics in a raw aspect

This video is fantastic. Been looking to improve in the elements presented in this video so I really appreciate it
Dude..... the crouching tip to increase your character height when behind cover is a game changer for me
regarding lean keys, you can also swap E and Q, so that leaning right is on Q and leaning left is on E. that way when you walk up to position to lean right, you press D to strafe right and Q, with another finger, to lean right.
