I tried your method on the geese. It was a little confusing at first. But I didn't give up. My border turned out great. I'm so proud of my quilt. Thank you for sharing this method with us. Mississippi USA
I am brand new to your channel and this was amazing! I’m not a newbie to quilting (close to 45 years) but I had no idea how these geese were done! Thank you so much - actually easier than I thought it would be!
That, my friend, is the cutest border. Thinking it will be confusing for me and repetition is the key. Looks like construction is similar to a braid design with a bit more complexity. Very cool.
OMGOODNESS. I was sew excited to see this pop up when I got home from work. I too need to make a quilt longer. Perfect timing Kendall. Thank you 😊 Bye for now 👋👋
Beautiful wall quilt! This was a great tutorial, Kendall! You made it so easy to understand. I do hope we get to see the end result when you get your borders finished and added onto the quilt. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. Great work. Will you please do a follow-up with how you attached your border strips to your quilt and address the corners, please? I have a hard time with borders, have spent hours watching tutorials and still bomb. Thank you again and happy to find you. Look forward to more of your tutorials. Kind regards to all.
This is great Kendall! I did this on a quilt and had no idea what I was doing. Making it up as I went. I saw you mention 3/4 in binding. Have you a video on your binding?
I really like this idea for borders! Brilliant! I’m going to try it on my next quilt. When I have a pattern that requires snowballed corners it is nearly impossible for me to get them right. Do you have any tips for me? I follow the line. I go just to the right of the line. None of that works for me.
Hi Kendall, Nanette here, loved your video and tried to get the pdf but it seems to be nowhere on The Quilted Bear website. Perhaps you have access because you are a member?
From memory you do not need to be a member. You do have to go through the process of “buying” the pattern. It is free though so no money os ever exchanged.
(fairly new subscriber here) Just out of curiosity .. What do you do with your scraps since you make so many projects? What do you consider a scrap? Everyone has a different opinion.
Great question. Anything that can not be cut into a 2 1/2" square goes in the trash. Terrible I know. I have 1000's of these squares just hanging about.
Love the quilt top behind you. Your color choices are spectacular
Thank you! Cheers!
You have so much knowledge and you share it so clearly. Plus you are a delight.
Yes, I love that too!
That technique is BRILLIANT! Thank you for sharing it with us!! Soooooo cute!

Glad to hear that!
I love your attitude, it’s refreshing. I love to quilt and I can see your do too. Thanks for explaining this method.
Fantastic tutorial, Kendall. This is a great alternative to just the straight line flying geese border.
Love this! Can’t wait to try it! Perfect scrap buster.
Wow that’s a great boarder! I love how it looks!

I love those migrating geese! Thanks for the tutorial. I found you through Pat Sloan. New subscriber. Can't wait to see what else you're doing.
Awesome! Thank you!
Just like my borders!! 🤗🤗
Thank you for this.
I’ve done the same thing to a quilt - it’s “off” and I’ll use this border to balance out the size.
This is great Kendall! I did this on a quilt and had no idea what I was doing. Making it up as I went. I saw you mention 3/4 in binding. Have you a video on your binding?
At the moment I don't.
Thank you
Welcome!
Interesting, thanks!
thank you!
Welcome!
Thanks for this!
I have some scrappy 5" squares. Might have a go....
You can do it!!
Thanks❤
No problem
Neat! Me so boring, I just added a plain border top & bottom to extend the top I just finished 😅 I see your little mini-Oliso arrived
Yes indeedy!! Although I thought I ordered the aqua one!! Hehe
Thanks!!
No problem!
Does your iron have a light on the front? Love the quilt on the wall!
Yrs it does. My only complaint is that you can’t turn it off.
I really like this idea for borders! Brilliant! I’m going to try it on my next quilt. When I have a pattern that requires snowballed corners it is nearly impossible for me to get them right. Do you have any tips for me? I follow the line. I go just to the right of the line. None of that works for me.
I never get them perfect either. Close enough for a good enough. I then fudge it in the seam allowance. Hehe
Where did you get the circle stuff that's on the back of the narrow ruler you used in this video.
It is a Creative Grids ruler. The non slip comes already on there.
Thanks for the video. Tried looking for the quilt pattern but no luck. Would you have the link? Thank you
It is now in the description.
Nice tutorial- did you get a new iron?
I did - I have been waiting so long for the Oliso mini to be available here in Oz - Now they are!!
How'd you get that Oliso Mini to stand on its heel? lol
This is the new M3 Pro - It is designed to sit flat or upright.
Hi Kendall Taylor 😊

No shame from me. 🙃 Everyone has to do what works for them and their space. 🌸

Is there a written diagram of this? I tried writing down as you talked. I confused myself!
There is not. You simply cut a square any size of print fabric and then the background square needs to be 1/4” larger.
