  • Let's face it... weve been there... client walks in and it seems like the world stops when she opens her mouth and says "I want to perm my bleached hair..." Many of us have several options
    1. Change our names and flee the country
    2. Change jobs
    3. Cry
or... Go on youtube and watch Vinny's amazing perm videos!
    Hopefully y'all picked the latter!
There are many perm types that will work for this hair the top 3 are here
    1. Thio free perm (best choice)
    2. Zotos perfect for platinum perm safe for bleached hair
    3. acid wave
The 4 steps of perming can help yall to conceptualize the clients needs and take detailed notes. here are the steps
    1. Where are we?- client has damaged, highly porous hair about grade 3 and 4 in some areas, hair has been treated with color remover, bleach, oxidative color and has semi permanent hair color
    2. where do we want to go?- Client wants a body wave to help give her volume and support for hair styles
    3. Type of perm- we will be using quantum 5 extra body acid wave to get body.
    4. We are using a basic perm wrap on green large 1in perm rods.
We will be pre treating the clients hair with a protein treatment. We will also be using a pre-wrap to help even out the porosity. Perm says no test curl but we will check for a loose c shape because this is an acid perm and the client has compromised hair.

I’m not sure where you heard that Olaplex doesn’t work for perms?
I’ve done multiple perms using Olaplex and had no issues and actually got way better results with using Olaplex.
It actually helps to prevent further damage and gives more of a definition in curl/waves.
While using Olaplex you don’t have to wait the 48 hour period because Olaplex helps to stop the oxidation so you can shampoo right after rinsing the neutralizer. :)

    Hello ,
I found you while scrolling on what to do with my limp lifeless hair . My hair is flat fine and thin . My hair has been bleached probably like 6 months ago or more I no longer want to bleach my hair but I do at home color and I color it blonde . With that being said which quatam do I use I would like corkscrew or spiral type perm type curls . When I wake up my hair looks like I have volume to it but after brushing it it is flat and well nothing going on with it . I will also add I have not had any trim or hair cut in 5 years .My hair does not have a fast growth rate so when they mess up on my hair at a salon it is a long time to walk around with a horrible cut . I use to go but after dropping loads of money and getting no quality service and walking out almost in tears from getting the opposite of what I asked for I no longer go to salons it's just cheaper at home and if i mess up I mess up but it didn't cost me a ton and no walking out of s salon in front of others embarrassed so yeah this is why it has been so long and why I just do my hair at home. I know if I went to a salon I would probably be told no to a perm but heck with it I will do it at home . Please let me know the perm type , rods , and all the things I can do to prep my hair before doing the perm ? I seen you used a protein in the subjects hair would there be anything you recommend I can do prior like a few weeks in advance to prep my hair? I'm wanting a change and tired of wearing a messy bun because my hair is flat nothing pretty about it . I appreciate any suggestions ☺️ I enjoyed this video it's nice to see someone not just say no do color treated hair for a perm I have read acid perms are the best if I could say best ideally I a perm is not best for color treated hair so I have been trying to learn all I can .

I was taught to not have gaps in between rods?? But I find it harder not to do that with bigger rods

hi how long does this sort of perm usually last?

    • @VincentBalducci
      @VincentBalducci  Рік тому +1

great question J! All perms are permeant in other words the chemical process that is made in the hair lasts until the hair is either cut off or treated with a perm. Perms break down the hairs bonds inside the hair. Now as the natural hair grows out this will cause the permed hair to relax causing people to falsely think the perm is out of their hair. It must be noted that permed hair will react differently to hair color.

I did a perm on my dyed hair three years ago and it got fried. I had to cut it all off. Wouldn’t recommend doing a perm on dyed hair.

Oh no!!! Was it just hair color or bleach? A huge issue is many don’t know there is a specific perm for all different types of hair (colored, bleached, etc.)

Did a home perm and I think I left it in a little too long, my fault for trying to do it while home alone with the kids. But, I still have hair so I called it a win 😂 next time I will be more careful or go to a salon! Was over dyed hair, I think any bleach was grown out.

I wanted larger rod spiral. They insisted on traditional with smaller rods due to my hair being shoulder length then they combs it after removing rods. It ended up very 80s, round, and frizzy vs the doll ringlets I dreamed of. Also no post care instructions so I didn't hydrate and moisturize enough so it wasn't great.
I wanna try again going for loose curls or a tighter body wave now that my hair is almost past the shoulder blade. It's hard to find people in a small town that do modern perms.
