This is the second time Tracey has answered a question before I could ask it!! BOOM!! Mind blown. Thanks for the tips. I recently did my daughter's nails and tried to use YN wisdom. Not perfect, but I'm getting better.
13:03 loved how she made it less intimidating to do this. I love this channel and it's instructors. They're the best and are so practical. Real people teaching real people. Love🥰🙌
I've seen techs price a refill based on lapsed time after the initial service. Ex. 2wk fill $40, 3wk fill $50, 4wk+ full set price $75. I think that'll be best as clients/customers may want to debate about a fill vs rebalance even after you educate them.
Hi Young Nails team, thank you for this amazing video. For nail technicians that are just getting started in the nail industry, what is the difference in price range for fills and re-balance? Also, if i have clients that come after two weeks for a fill but want a complete new set color and design, should i be charging it as a fill or re-balance? Thank you!
Should absolutely be charging a different price. Our pricing is typically 65 for a fill and 80 for a re-balance. May be different from your current pricing but that range of a difference is recommended.
hi, i just bought a few things to start getting into the nailverse and i have to say YOUR CHANNEL has been sooo helpfull, everything a person needs to know about the basics u have it, the explanations are so simpl and clear the videos are shorts yet rich and i just love it, CONGRATS
So so glad you guys put this up! I’ve been looking for so long how to replenish a smile line and this is brilliant!!! Flipping wish I could have you as a teacher! Thanks for the video, keep them coming please. ♥️
Question with rebalance that is not french. Would u remove some of the bulk from the apex /flatten it out FIRST. Or apply product over regrowth to height of old apex THEN file it down at the end to reposition the Height/strength further back. I’ve been debulking first but then feel like I’m putting it all back on again and also like I’m filing/ debulking twice.
How do you rebalance and refill if they want a different color nail do u file down the whole nail? And How long do u have to wait to remove the entire acrylic on the nail after doing many fills? Or is it just an ongoing cycle of fills and rebalances?
I have a question: I had a client who had previously gotten her nails done with another tech in my salon who used YN acrylic on her, she came in for a fill and I (mainly a hard gel tech) filled her with YN base and build. As I was filing it was as if the gel was flaking off just the acrylic part towards the middle, as if it didn’t adhere. I filed the acrylic with a 100 grit file so it shouldn’t have been buffed goo smooth. Any ideas why?
Nice job, Im soo glad you commented on the sticking issues... I use to do exactly that mistake. Oh... suggestion.... Caring for brushes, before during and after uses, storage etc. I swear, I still have my original brush from Cosmetology school. I took care of it as well as trimming, to get the correct shape for me. Luckily, I didn't screw it up. Back when I was in school, we received tons of OK items, a cpl Good to great and well.... buy bulk stuff.. lol. My brush was 1 of those items... my shears were TRASH ..lol. luckily I had an awesome bf back then, I was even surprised he volunteered to go to my first Convention, and student competition. Bought me a pair of Joewells, and an alligator skinned case and still have and use them. I saw so many ppl drop, break, throw, or leave theirs on the station when others had sticky fingers. Dropped them once after I cleaned and sanitized them while putting away products. Taught myself 1 thing. .. HOW MANY TIMES CAN I AFFORD A $150 PAIR OF SHEARS? note, this was 84 when he bought them... he saw me testing them and apparently snuck back while I was on stage, I thought he was grabbed drinks. So of course I wasn't watching him... turned around to grab my drape to see my surprise. You know how hard it was to not cry? Happy tears of course.... Anyhow... with Gel and acrylic plus paints, polishes etc.. Any suggestions?
@@youngnailsinc No hun.... Cleaning, storage, in between, during, afterwards. From purchase, first usage to death of it . WHAT WILL EXTEND THE BRUSHES LIFE! What if the client did not have a white tip and let’s say a design instead, would it still be considered a rebalance if they wanted a whole new design? Or would you going back to to the start and make a whole new full set?
Is there a certain amount of refills or rebalances you can do before its too many and you need to just soak the set off and start fresh? Im starting to have clients come back for there 2 or 3 fill, but im not sure if i should keep filling or start fresh after a few fills.
Do you need to Top the pink and white with clear acrylic before your topcoat? If it’s only been two weeks and they don’t need a re-balance but they want them shortened does that end up making it a rebalance?
YoungNailsInc What if it’s a brand new set of pink and white then you put clear topcoat over the whole thing? If you were doing a full set of cover paint would you Cap in clear? Thank you so much, I’m still a little confused LOL
Do you guys have a video uploaded specifically about removing lifted areas on acrylic? I can see the white part where it is lifted but when filing I end up overfilling even with a hand file on myself and only notice a few days later that it is sensitive ...
I have shakes too but not from coffee, i think its from my anxiety :') great video as always, i was just revising this infill vs rebalance in my studies.
Tracey: "I don't like to waste product" Tracey in next video: Proceeds to sprinkle glitter on the whole table :D jokes, love you Tracey. Have learnt so much!
The average time between fills is generally 2-3 weeks. After that, it would be considered a re-balance and you would be charging more since you will be doing more work and using more product.
Tracy - That was awesome, I think the best video you've done. This was exactly what I have been looking for, for over a year now. I was also trained old school in the fill - backfill era. We did a backfill/re-balance every 3 weeks to move that smile line back into place or to change the colored tip and move smile up (everyone wore a french, so you never did just a fill). Acrylic gets old and crumbly and so this also eliminated problems with that. I am trying to get back into nails after a very long break, and am so confused as to how things have changed, this helped a lot. Also those tips were great - keep them coming, I was taught more liquid needed too. Now what if a client is never getting a french done, when are you changing out that product off the tip? Also I don't think I have seen you mention broken nails, do you fix them for free at the fill? Do you guarantee your work, so broken's are free? Do you let them just book in for a nail or two repairs - is that free? And so on, and so on...... Could you do a video on that but relate it to the fill and re-balance with cost and time explained, like a part 2 to this one. Could you also include some lifting in that video too. Maybe lifting at the cuticle cause they waited to long for a fill (5-6 week) as well as free edge separation cause they are not using their cuticle oil, or a air pocket in dead center cause they closed finger in car door and it didn't break - but did pop. Ohhh - and do you charge more if it is a 4 week, 5 week etc. fill? Thank you so much and keep them coming ;)
Can you show us filing when you get past the smile line? Or link me to a video where you’ve done that and just filed it away. I’d like to actually see it
Just found out most monomers online are MMA; so trying to order yours but there are fakes of your monomer online too- not cool- where can I get the real monomer from your kit?
All of our products are available online at our website, youngnails.com. We do have approved distributors listed on our website. If you don’t see a distributor in your city, simply zoom out on the map until the closest one pops up and get in contact to see if they ship to your location. www.youngnails.com/pages/locate-distributor We also have our products available on amazon.
Love the tutorial. Also notice your nails.. different shapes on left hand. and apex..NOT big. The smallest apex on your nails Ive seen and its so NOT big after seeing all these HUGE apexes on people..almost looks flat.. BUT I like it. Love it actually. Natural looking.
We Say fill & backill prices are different ofcourse . Never seen somebody cut out the smile line like that I just place a bead and let it form and then put the white. Like you said take your file clean it up if you need to and they always come out Crisp and deep . But I guess it takes a same amount of time once your experienced wether you use an e file or just sculpt it. @naildesigns_dakota 💓

Loving your detailed education. Don't ever stop.

So many techs skip the first step. Push those cuticle back!! Thanks for always doing it. Now I see why my nails don’t last from going to some places.
Thank you so much for showing the difference. I learn so much just from watching this channel😊
❤️❤️
So glad you informed me of the difference. Rebalance should cost more and Fill should be cheaper. I need to adjust my prices. 🤔🤣
100%

ladyinmauve which makes a whole Lot of sense. Your using more product and possibly having to do a Rebalance
She makes it look so easy. Very talented I must say.
Definitely
i just noticed the nail polish color on Tracey's right hand...also, i love the color!

aww thank you so much! Good luck on your nail journey😀
Most of my clients come back and it’s not an infill with the same colors they always want a redesign and something way different so a lot of more work
For sure, at that point should definitely be charging for a re balance
YoungNailsInc yess always do 🤗 TeamYN
Love that solid pink!! But that frenchie is excellent!!

YoungNailsInc I did 🤔
Amazing thankyou

Wondering if its still safe to take clients during this time. I have a home based nail place.
I would follow whatever recommendations have been put in place in your area

As long as you are prepping the nails correctly and removing any lifting, you don't need to.
We're not judging your nails either 🤣. Love the video

Thank you so much! It would also help so much if you showed the finish filing.
For sure, it is included in some videos like our real time series. Sometimes it's hard for the camera to chase the filing movements
Nice video!

What's OWC?
I been having my clients come 4 weeks plus for fill and it’s taking me forever .. should I charge more ? I charge 45 for a fill ?
The average time between fills is generally 2-3 weeks. After that, it would be considered a re-balance and you would be charging more since you will be doing more work and using more product.
Why don’t you ship to Alaska? It’s part of the USA...
Just need to contact ray@youngnails.com
How do you know if the color is fading or if its lifting?
You can see it visually. Also with lifting you can usually hear/feel it when you file on it
What if it has acrylic nail art and they want a new set
Did you encapsulate the nails??
In this case no, you can file directly onto the white, only reason encapsulating would be necessary is if there was art / glitter

Yep all of the "real time" videos include filing. These ones are just difficult for the camera to chase us around. haha
How much do you charge for the fill verses the rebalance?
Fill = 65 / re balance is 80
