The reson I love Mortismal, he always dilivers lthe last few lines of his videos sincerely and because of his beautiful calming voice, and many times I don't have same opinion about some game but I still watch him because of his voice.
I've never played a city builder before that I can remember, but this does look interesting. Love the visual tone. I've been wanting to try out something new this past week, so I'll definitely be giving the demo a look.
Thanks for the video. I kind of want to see an Office Space-based Cthulhu title. You're trying to summon the Dark Lord, but you have to manage personnel with office memos, policies, and performance reviews. It ends with the disturbing reality that Cthulhu does not take a corporeal form; he exists as our collective insanity from the cubicle farm lifestyles that we have voluntarily entered into. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
Heard about this a while ago and really looking forward to give this a try. At the time it didn't seem like it would work that well, but the more I heard and after watching your video as well, I am really interested.
Ohh, great to see this covered! I'd love to see more of this here. Um, you know, once it's done. Had no expectations that it would fit in Mort's stable. Or, you know, even that the fallow field in that swampy corner. Same place I'd would have put MW5:Clans for Mort. Which is not a criticsm--strong branding and focus--but rather my world model. I haven't been too interested in city-builders in a while. Perhaps last was some post-apoc thing of recent years, but even that couldn't engage with me for too long. The mature aspects of this one, within a sensible & matching setting, are what got me intrigued. Like an evil/chaos playthrough in BG3 or RT or something. i.e. non-pablum might be engaging. All the censored stuff; flavor. But if there's a productive adult gaming review channel that navigates those offerings on a regular basis--so I hear--then even for today's sensitive ears & eyes, I'm sure Mort can navigate the rules of the YT game.
I like city builders, I love cosmic horror, I adore games where you play as the antagonist, but I absolutely detest arbitrary time limits. Will definitely be steering clear of this game until there's an option to turn that off
Huh, I was having an idea in my mind for a while about creating a cult management game, this looks more like cult ANNO style, I was thinking of more paradox/CK/EU4 style with events, but it's close enough to taste how such kind of game might play in reality
Does the game have any antagonists other than other islands or random ships moving around? This title seems interesting to me but it seems it really needs researchers etc seeking to spoil your plans
As far as interesting takes on the City Builder genre, I’ll still pick Frostpunk (1, not 2) over everything else. This looks like it needs more time in the oven somehow, but interesting premise nonetheless.
Playing it now. I like it alot. Prrrrobably not worth $30 - city builder players will know more than me. Nightingale is the same price and I am 500 hours in :) Registering clicking on summoned abominations is too sketchy right now. Looooove carving runes into my cultists :)
As cool as this looks, I was really put off by the performance issues I experienced in the demo. It doesn't look as good as Anno 1800, but somehow it runs significantly worse. Hope they can sort that out before 1.0.
Yay a cool looking game! *looks at the EARLY ACCESS nonsense* well guess my grandchildren might get to play it, assuming its not abandoned like most EA crap.
Poor Ctthulhu, he's been milked so much, you can barely call him cosimic horror anymore.
Well thats a powerful image that wont leave my mind now, thank you for that. 😄
@@SqueakyBefor real lol! He’s still dope, its just presentation
One t.
Milk me harder
Who up milking they Cthulhu?
I hear this is a R’lyeh good game 👍🏾

The devs have said there is an option to turn the countdown timer off, for people who don’t want to feel rushed
Sweet! It's like "Lovecraftian Dungeon Keeper"!
This has been on my radar, thanks for the Check Out.
oh this is right up my alley! It gives me against the storm vibes, but longer.
Another Cthullu Game yoo

Dear Mort
Please keep us update if the game gets better. Thanks for your great review
Looking forward to this one. If they create quests like Sunless Sea and double down the mythos like Sinking City ... Would be awesome
Soooo.... is this something like Against the Storm but with a darker setting?) Cthulhu getting impatient, questlines, sactifices...
From the video I have watched so far, that is the vibe I am getting. It has a fee demo, so you can play some of it.
I already bought this but have yet to play it. I'm looking forward to it.
I am curious to learn more. I have the demo installed, but still need to find time to play it.
I see Cthulu in the title, I know it's gonna be green.

Apparently you _can_ turn that off.
I never thought that cult followers needed to be happy. That is a dark comedy writing itself.
They have made it very easy to ignore the impaitience mechanic if you want to although from my limited experience itsquite forgiving ironically 😛

The Cult lives!
Looks like an anno 1800 reskin. Am I missing something?
Gronk!

Is the Red Dead 1 PC version coming to Steam on your radar?
Ive seen it, not sure if Ill cover it yet
@@MortismalGamingI was excited when I first heard, as it’s my favorite modern game. But at the price they’re charging for a 20 year old remaster…

hi mort
i wonder if there is a LAMB somewhere at the patent and copyright complaints office.

One of these games needs to get Metallica's Call of Ktulu in there.
Was interested until you said "city builder" and then immediately checked out, lol.
