I love watching dinner prep videos to get loads of inspiration for what to cook for my family and thought that this would make a fun video for you to see a week of meals that I Prepare as a busy working mom. I’ll take you along day by day and show you what I prep.
Borscht Soup
BBQ Chicken Wings and Mustard Fries
Mushroom Barley Soup
Burger Roll
Borscht Soup
Add 3 tbsp of oil to a soup pot
Add 1 diced onion and sauté
Shred carrot and add to soup
Dice a red pepper & Potato and add to the soup
Shred 1 tomato add to the pot with 1 tablespoons of tomato paste
Add 2 large shredded beets
Season everything with
2 tsp of salt
1.5 tsp cumin
1.5 tsp coriander
1 tbsp chicken consome
1 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf
Add water to fill pot
Bring everything to a boil, reduce heat and let it cook for 30 minutes until so the vegetables are cooked through.
Add 3 large handfuls of shredded cabbage. Close the lid and allow to cook for 10 minutes until softened. Add a whole bunch of parsley, mix and enjoy. Pro tip add a few tablespoonsof vinegar to retain color.
BBQ Chicken Wings and Mustard Fries
-Wash and clean the wings
Place on a cookie sheet
Season with salt, pepper and paprika
Bake both sides on broil until golden brown
Cut potatoes into wedges. Season with S/P avocado oil and mustard. Bake in a single layerat 500F.
Mushroom Barley Soup Recipe:
Into a pot add in 3 tablespoons of avocado oil
Add 2 containers of mushrooms and saute
Remove when done into a separate bowl.
Add celery, carrot and onion to pot and cook for 7 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add oil if needed. Add 1 cup of washed and drained bareley. Return mushrooms to the soup. Fill pot with stock of choice and 3 bay leaves. Cook for 40 minutes. Garnish with dill.
Burger Roll:
Defrost puff pastry and slightly roll out.
Place ground beef mixed with 1 ground onion onto puff pastry. Season with S/P paprika cumin and coriander. Roll the puff pastry like a log and pinch ends closed. Egg wash and bake at 350 for 1-1.5 hours until fully cooked through.

Once you learn that you should not eat dairy with meat......you need to eat parve with meat, you might find it challenging. Even the microwave has be Kocher

Soon Mom can just put up her feet up after a long busy day and the 5 Junior Preppers can take over! Seriously, involving them in the kitchen from a young age was so smart! Sonja, I LOVE soup so I will be making this Borscht for sure - I've never had Borscht so this will be a first for me! I cannot tell you enough how inspiring you are and how much I appreciate you and learning about my Jewish Heritage!! We lost so much of our Misch family at Dachau and I've told you how my mother was so afraid to tell us she was Jewish until she was on her death bed - but I am so very happy I finally know my heritage and why I was always, always drawn to Jewish people. In school 98% of my friends were Jewish and I also celebrated the holiday - even though I didn't know at the time that I WAS in fact Jewish! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha So many stories to tell, but I won't go on. Thank you Sonja, for being my support and my inspiration!!! Love to you and your beautiful family!!!

Borsch is Ukrainian cuisine.
It's not borscht was she made-Iam Russian and borscht is our tranditional soup. Snoya made a vegatable soup, not borscht. It's delicious I am sure, but it's not borscht

I find that kids enjoy borsch. Sometimes I make for American guests and they are often amazed that their kids actually eat it. I don’t add any consome, all natural.

Hi, Sonya…..everything you make looks so easy and delicious. If YOU have the time to make these things, then I have no excuse not to!
Whenever I can I make these both soups in dairy pots, and then add sour cream in the bowls. It’s heavenly.
Lately I've been adding garlic and ginger after towards the end of cooking - because these ingredients are highly good for health I don't want them cooking too long and also I love the strong taste garlic and smell of ginger. You are training your girls and boys well by teaching them to cook. In this way, once they leave the house for college, they'll be able to cook. It is a life long skill good to have and handy
