Sonya, I truly enjoy your videos. I am always looking forward to the next one. I would really like to see a video about the new techniques you have to make sourdough. Thank you for creating these wonderful videos 😊
You are the mother I wish I had growing up. Loving , nurturing, compassionate. Since I didn’t get this growing up, I am going to watch your videos and give it to my children now thank you for creating this videos even though it is probably so much work on you. I am really learning a lot from you.
This makes me so emotional 🥹. You are amazing for making the conscious decision to make a change for your children. It’s so easy to remain bitter about the past but it takes so much strength to decide to move forward with positivity for the future.
I thought I was the only one that did not have a mother anywhere near Sonya growing up. My mother never cooked, shopped or cleaned. She felt if she worked outside of the home, she did not have to do anything in the house. My father worked, got up at 3 am for work, came home and napped for two hours and then made us dinner.
I try to bake most days. I love making French bread but I have to remember to make the poolish the night before, same thing with bagels, and pizza dough. I got a pizza oven for Christmas which raised my pizza to a higher level.
Thank you for the time that you put into your videos. They are a big help for me since I’m converting to Judaism and don’t live in a Jewish community. I do all my cooking at home since there is no kosher restaurants where I live and I’m constantly watching recipes online. Shabbat Shalom to your family and you 🙏
I just came across your video because i was searching traditional Jewish food. Your videos are very inspiring. I'm a wife and mom of a young child and i have found lots of encouragement from your videos.
Dear Sonya. You are beyond amazing!! You are a working mom with a newborn baby. And you make things that most people in your situation would buy. I guess that it is therapeutic for you. Enjoy .
Thanks for all the time you spend faithfully teaching the rest of us how to make these delicious recipies ❤ There is nothing on UA-cam I would rather watch!
Good morning, Sonja. So happy to see you once again. Your videos inspire me and make me want to cook it all!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha It makes my heart happy to see your little guys on your videos. Hope you are all well and wishing you many blessings and lots of love!!!
Happy to see you again! I've been praying all is well with your family as you get into new routines with the new baby, the other kiddos, and work. And, yes, there's something very soothing about working with dough, or even watching others work with it!
Thank you Sonya, you read my mind this morning... Woke up today out of a very tough emotional dream, and I just wanted something to comfort me and make me feel better, so I thought "I'll watch some of Sonya's videos". I got up, opened up UA-cam, and there you were, smiling at the very top of my feed with a new video. Can't say thank you enough. Your videos are so precious to me, just seeing you do normal everyday things around your house, taking care of your family, and listening to your quiet voice just soothes my spirit, and makes me feel like there are still small happy nice things in this world. Plus, you actually managed to motivate a totally non cooking loving girl to make something in the kitchen today. You're just awesome, and thank you so much for being here. 💗
Though I am Jewish, I am married to an Italian man. I can share a bit of wisdom I’ve learned about sauce with you from my MIL, who was born and raised near Rome, Italy… Start with EVOO and some minced garlic on low until the garlic is lightly browned (to infuse the oil with the garlic). _Crushed garlic can also work, but you’d want to remove those cloves before proceeding._ Once you’ve browned the garlic a little, it’s time to add your crushed tomatoes. Add a couple 28 oz. cans of crushed tomatoes, and then 2 cans of tomato paste to the pot. Fill that little 6 oz can of tomato paste with water twice and add it to the tomato/evoo/garlic blend and mix well. With cleaned and inspected basil, oregano and Italian parsley - you can add them as you please, along with salt and pepper. This is also the time to add any other seasonings you enjoy (I.E.: garlic powder, onion powder, etc.) Then, to cut the acid, add a little sugar or a few shreds of carrots (because they’ll release their natural sugar to quell the acidity a bit) and let the sauce simmer. If you want a meat sauce, make sure you add a marrow bone and homemade meatballs (or seasoned, cooked and drained ground beef) to the sauce and let it simmer along with it. Periodically stir it, but let it simmer on low. If it starts to reduce too much, just add a little more water and allow it to keep going until the flavor develops where you like it (and the meatballs are cooked, and the bone has given all of its goodness to the sauce). Now… if you’re planning on using the sauce for pizza, you’ll want vegan mozzarella shred for the pizza if you’ve added meat to the sauce, obviously. It’s entirely up to you! 😊 But this is how Italians make their sauce (but they only use the fresh herbs and not the garlic powder, etc.). I just noticed you added some to yours, so I figured you’d want to add it to the above sauce mix and that’s perfectly fine. Your food looks amazing, as always! Thanks for sharing your time with us. 😃 Edit: I forgot to add that it will take 1.5 to 2 hours for the sauce to simmer.
You are such a gift + inspiration to those of us who follow your channel. Our lives may be different in some ways (I am not Jewish, am in my 50s, and a family wasn’t in the stars for me) but in spite of that we have many commonalities. Love of home making, cooking, hosting, etc. What a generous, loving + supportive mom you are. I sure miss mine (and grew up in a big family, so your care warms my heart). Thank you for sharing so generously with your diverse group of fans + cheerleaders.
Yes please on a new sourdough update, as to how you are doing things now... (And maybe a separate one on how you manage your starter too? Tho if that is too boring/minimal content, maybe intersperse it with day-in-the-life? Always such a pleasure...) And yes, I could watch a good baker work ANYTIME, and in fact one of the best things recently was seeing your mommy's hands doing that astounding long skinny rollout for wraps, I forget what it was called... I showed my father because he a baker/cook and he wrote "Brava!!!" :) xoxoxo
I love how you talk about making things for your family and focus on the enjoyment and satisfaction of working with your hands. You can hear your love for your family, which is my goal as a mother too. When people I meet realize that my family enjoys sabbath’s and feasts and showing love for our creator, our families and neighbors in all of the ways, they often seem shocked and sounds as if I’m obeying rules that are oppressive when in fact it is a joy to do all things with joy and love. Nicely done! I pray our families feel the love mre and more with each passing day as we become wiser women. Shalom!
We make pizza most Friday nights. One of our favourites is pesto topped with Swiss and/or Gruyère, artichokes, and sun dried tomatoes, sometimes we add red onion bits or bits of roasted garlic.
Hi Sonya It was so good to see you busy again on your you tube channel. One misses when you are not out there. You became a friend without you knowing that.
Nice to see your video again and looking forward to many more! Thank you for sharing your videos! I love them! Gives me the motivation to clean and cook and organize more! Smile!

Good afternoon Sonia, welcome back watching your videos gives me so much joy, it’s amazing to see how you do it all with such ease, you have wonderful family who love to help you, what a blessing. Please do a video on sourdough dough bread, I would love to see another version of your sourdough. Wishing you and your family a lot of health and happiness
Sonya, I am in awe of you! Kol Hakavod!! Learned a few things already ( first watched Thursday night, as was looking for gouzh gouzhe's dough recipe i lost. You bread is fantastic. I bake 6-7 loaves, as want to take of challah. Ialso love artistic scoring, use wire monkey with altered blade. Dont know how to share pics in comments, sorry. Hatzlacha!!!
I enjoyed this video so much. I love fresh baked bread. I use a bread maker to make mine. I may just have to show up at your home one day to try some of that delicious sourdough bread you make. -just kidding about dropping by but the bread you make (and everything else ) always looks delicious! How special to have your daughter help you cook for Shabbat. It always warms my heart to see children take ownership of their faith by participating in some way. They aren’t just following along because it is “what we do.” Have a great week and blessed Shabbat.
Hi Sonya Yes I would love to see your technique on how to make sourdough bread. We just Finished Passover too It nice to make a lot of food for the family love from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 Rita ❤❤
Just spent a relaxing hour watching this, your latest video full of wonderful recipes, techniques, and inspiration from your kitchen. Hope that you and all in your family are doing fine, Sonya. Watching you prep for the sourdough bread was relaxing. I even saw my yellow citrus squeezer in your utensil drawer. Now that warm weather is here, I will go through bags and bags of lemons for unsweetened iced tea all summer.
They can make more work by allowing the kids to participate in the kitchen but that is so important because it's a learning opportunity that they will need for the rest of their life.❤
Dearest Sonja, nice to see yyou again! You do everything SOOOOOOOOOO nice! And look beautiful, too! I wish to see more from you again. Nice greetings from Germany, Shalom!
Watching you working do you feel you work more in the kitchen or other parts of your home? I realize your videos are centered around the kitchen and I figure laundry is another large task. Though I am alot older than you it can still be difficult even though my husband and myself are retired. Love your videos. ❤
I love how you include your children and incorporate so much and many ideas and techniques, plus you’re realistic and creative! Baruch HaShem ! Do you have an updated sourdough starter tutorial or should I refer the one from 2 yrs ago as you mentioned you hope ( and me too ! ) to post an updated technique/ method , for sourdough. Have you made sourdough pizza dough ? I look forward to more ideas and suggestions from you ,
I love making dough, and using it in many different ways like you did..... my husband doesn't care for cinnamon, so I make what I call sunshine citrus rolls, using the zest and juice of lemons and oranges throughout the mix, filling & glaze, it is so delicious, and fresh! , I do use a little flavoring from store bought flavors....as well as vanilla. I love all your videos, thank you for sharing ❤
Good morning from Los Angeles and welcome back Sonya. I hope you and your family had an enjoyable Passover. Thank you for this great video, I really enjoyed it!👍😊 You're a great mom, cook, and organizer and your videos always inspire me.💖
Do you know why I watch this video? Exactly, I saw the buns and know you make dough. I love to make dough and enjoy watching people cook and manipulate dough😊 Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
I follow another kosher lifestyle mom. She used to bake bread for sale. Now, she does bake bread only for her family. I wrote her how therapeutic to watch her baking bread.
You are so right, watching you work with the dough makes me sleepy😂😂😂😂WHAT? it's calming I guess....anyway, I'm gonna try to stay awake while I attempt to make your pizza recipe ❤
I have 1 1/2 weeks left of work before summer break. Im going to experiment making your sourdough bread.. I grew up on homemade rye bread and French loaf bread and am looking forward to expanding my repertoire. Thank you
Hi Sonya, I for one am very curious as to the changes you made to your sourdough recipe. If you find time down the road (ha, ha, extra time?) to show us, that would be great!
Hi sweetie, I enjoyed so much your video,as always you are so organized and calm,I love that you let your children to help you,I can see that they really enjoy to do all those things, so I give a big hug to all of you! Also your prepings look so delicios ,as I've told you before,I am so happy that every time I learn something new from you, even I'm 65,always I'm so pleased to learn from you!Thank you again, and,as always, MAY HASHEM BLESS AND PROTECT YOU AND ALL YOUR LOVED ONES EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIVES AMEN ve AMEN ISHTABACH SHEMO laADDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!❤❤❤❤

Do you have an updated sourdough starter tutorial or should I refer the one from 2 yrs ago as you mentioned you hope ( and me too ! ) to post an updated technique/ method , for sourdough. Have you made sourdough pizza dough ? I look forward to more ideas and suggestions from you ,
Haven’t changed my sourdough starter technique.
Sounds great!
