The electric locomotive included is ED501, built in 1956 by Hitachi. One of the coaches is motorized probably so they didn't have t make a tiny mechanism for ED501. Oigawa missed the opportunity to make their electric locos that push Thomas and James be Toby, but they made one of their Mountain Railway diesels be Toby.
If you do make an N scale layout, Kibri make a canopy station which is similar to Knapford. I doubt Bachmann will make Thomas N scale structures.

Love the video trains tsar. You recently did your Stepney collection. But I think the next collection you should do is a update to your Emily collection. The reason why is because of the bachmann n scale Emily is releasing. So when it releases if you can do an update to your Emily collection that would be amazing

Even though I'm not I to Thomas, that's definitely a nice set. Yes you should do a an n scale layout. Definitely don't need much space. If you ever decide to do one, go with Kato even though there on the pricey side. I went from HO scale to N scale.
