I love scents instead of decoys......it creates curiosity.....nothing wrong with a grunt also to get their attention. Buck urine is the best scent bar none.....estrus works great during the rut.....buck urine works all season. Pre rut it will piss off a buck who owns the area.....the buck will snort and almost always come in out of anger.......many times they will ignore other scents cause their mad.
Sarah Perez you can use a doe decoy.. however you run a higher risk of getting other does in and then they spook from the decoy because they're smarter than the boys during rutting season.. but a sub dominat buck in a bigger bucks living room.. they're gonna be pissed and gurantee they challenge the "other buck" giving you a great vantage point for a shot.. they get distracted completely too

If its a Buck it will 9 out of 10 times come in head on. If it is a doe the buck will come in from behind

Yes doe decoys work all season long. If I could only use one decoy it would (and generally is) a doe. Montana decoys have filled several tags for me.

Not very good info. I’m guessing this kid hasn’t used a decoy with much success if he’s used a decoy at all.
