If you study history there are MANY cases when such behaviour happened. The reason has always been the same - you're a threat to someone's ideology and the ideology cannot exist without serious suppression of those who oppose it.

Anyone entering a western secular, free country should, as a condition of entry/citizenship etc, agree and sign a legal declaration that they understand that blasphemy is not a crime, and that they risk being deported if they threaten or call for any harm or legal (or otherwise) punishment, or lobby for criminalising blasphemy.

Over 10 years ago, after a dispute with a Muslim acquaintance i had known for over a year, i was knocked down by him and threatened with further violence, after which i got a restraining order against him. I later found out that several other people had accused him of violence and gotten restraining orders against him, although apparently he'd never been jailed. A few years later i started working part-time for another muslim whom i'd met through the first one months before the violent incident. They'd only met a few weeks previously, yet acted like long-lost dear brothers. That one twice threatened my life for "insulting his religion" (i.e., making the mistake of discussing with him what i disliked about it). The second time it happened, when i told him i'd go to the police if he ever did it again, he changed his tune and even apologized. Likely that one had had a problem with cops before and didn't want to repeat it. I sure learned a lesson about trusting Muslims to behave like rational people and respect a different point of view -- they cannot because it is incompatible with their religion. I won't make that mistake again.

From which place the video is uploaded etc and have the person send threatening messages to your email. then the police should be able to ask if they can borrow your computer to find out where the message was sent from, which broadband operator the person has, and so on. I admire Harris Sultan's refusal to be intimidated. Years ago i was threatened with violence by two Muslims, but those were not young, one was old (mid-70s) and the other was middle-aged (50s). I realize most death threats, even from young fanatics, are no more than hot air and the risk of violence happening may be very low. But even so, any death threat should be taken seriously by the public and the police. Otherwise the fanatics will be emboldened to continue and increase it. We all need to know how to maximize our own self- defense and need not live in meek silent fear of them the way they want us to.
Harris, I have to disagree with your technique. In Canada (hopefully the same in yr country) if the police refuse to take action/press the charges, you could go to a Justice of Peace (half-judge basically) and show him the video that was done against you and he will take yr testimony under oath, then press the charges on behalf of the People (in Canada, on behalf of our Queen) issue an order to the Police to open a file and investigate the issue. Then, the police will contact Tictoc or other social media co. demand the info from them per their records (not all the times these are accurate) but still they can contact him and know his location. Then, they charge him (in order to close the file of the Justice of the Peace) then he has to go to a criminal court where they will warn him and demand him to shut-up. (You may contribute, discreetly, by demanding that part of the settlement for ex. a monetary penalty (that goes to the govt.) also that he should be forbidden from making such movie(s) against you and other people like you for few coming years, yet you may get an order from him to make a movie to apologize to you and his followers and retract on whatever he mentioned in his previous movies. This may be time consuming but theoratically will cost you nothing. You do not have to hire a lawyer, private investigator, etc...
In addition, once you get his info, you may hire a civil lawyer and file a civil claim against him and take some of his money (as yr lawyer will share with you the proceeds of the civil-order) If he has a good job, then you can send the civil court order to his employer and they will be obligated to deduct from his pay-chq every pay-day until he pays-off the order or quit his job/or lose it.
I think that is the process across the common-law world. Police refusing to act is not the end of the world.

In Britain, making threats to kill is a crime and always has been. I do not believe these threat making moslem do not know this. Many of them were born here and are well aware of British law. They regard their Islam supercedes any British law and they will try it if they think they can get away. There have been numerous examples. The Security Service (MI5) can keep a watch on some of them but it does have the resources to watch them all. The problem is the British police are now infected with political correctness. Many senior officers are terrified of being accused of racism if they pursue these potential murderers.

It is not only about dealing with the individual but telling the crowd that encouraging or praising people who make these threats and threaten this kind of vigilante behaviour that their actions are not acceptable either. If the atmosphere in Pakistan had not been to praise vigilante behaviour perhaps Priyantha Diyawadana/Kumar would still be alive now and not have been tortured and burnt by an inhumane mob.
