I am in floods of tears. I am so so proud of you. This has honestly encouraged me to get into the mindset of not waiting around for people. I often won’t do things if someone won’t come with me and in that sense I’m just holding myself back. Since I’m isolating right now because I have caught covid for a second time I’m going to write a list of things I want to do, for me. I will go through them with my partner and if he says he wants to do some of the things with me then great but also if he says “I don’t quite fancy that” instead of saying “Okay, I’m not gonna do it” I’ll say “Okay, that’s completely fine that you don’t fancy doing it but I’m still going to do it myself”
Mark..how happy you are with your New Zealand friend is unreal... don’t forget sometimes it’s worth it to take a risk and just do what you can to make it work! Move, go travel with him etc you’ll never regret it
I think this is my favourite vlog that you've ever made. You looked so content and complete. I think a lot of people will really connect with the idea of "finding your people" and how insanely validating and exciting it can be to connect with people about a shared passion. Thank you so much for showing that, as well as the realities of life - driving in a completely foreign environment and doing solo trips are so challenging and it's so nice to see the highs and lows. Also the schtts creek transition noises were *chef's kiss*!
Mark, I'm a solo traveller, too! 53 and my first solo trip was England! It's terrifying but so rewarding. I'm SO proud of you. Don't ever apologize for things that make your heart sing! That's how you know you're on the right path. Follow your bliss! Yay for you!!
I think admitting that you felt uneasy in some places was a really helpful reminder to all of us. Sometimes we do things, go places, take risks when holidays that we wouldn’t do at home! Loved seeing the Scream House!

Aw Mark your happy, glowing face after the Scream tour said it all. I had a similar experience when I was younger - there was a midnight Harry Potter ball at Waterstones in my town to celebrate the release of one of the books and I really wanted to go, but had no one to go with, so I dressed up and went solo, and it was magical! I made loads of friends who were 'my people', there was a ceilidh with everyone dancing, and amazing food, and we got the new book, and it was so exciting. I feel like everyone is into Harry Potter these days but I'm also geeky about 80s My Little Ponies and British big cats like the Exmoor Beast and the Beast of Bodmin. So proud of you for being your authentic self, thank you for sharing with us

My mom was like “please leave him a note saying how proud I am of him for traveling to a different country all on his own!” So this is me doing exactly that! But I also want to add that I am proud of you!!! And you’ve inspired me to hopefully come to England some day and see the filming locations for Pride & Prejudice, my favorite movie💘 love you and I hope you’re doing well!!

I highly doubt you’ll be seeing this but I’ve been watching your videos for a few years now and your energy, how open you are, how raw and real you are, just you as a whole. you’re an absolute inspiration and you make mine and so many other people’s days so much better just by being you. I’ve watched your solo travel vlogs too and they just heal my inner child. Travelling is always something i’ve dreamed of since I was a kid but we were never able to due to money and bad timing. But watching you travel and doing all these things you’ve ever dreamed of, makes me feel like I’m there with you. So yeah pretty much what I’m saying is thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the comfort when I couldn’t find it anywhere else❤️ sending so much love to you x
May sound strange but I love that you get emotional during your trips. It shows us “the viewers” that your so genuine and take nothing for granted. So glad your friend came and surprised you 🥰
This makes me so happy for you Mark ❤️ No one has to understand but it’s always great to have a community of people that do - and we are here for it. So proud of you! I know when I was young and obsessed with HP (it got me through my depression and suicidal thoughts) no one understood and thought I was weird. Then I started making YT music videos about HP and found a community that felt the same type of passion for HP/other fandoms. And in September I’m going to Edinburgh and London to do all the HP things 😭 I am so excited, and seeing how happy you were when you went to the Scream house just made me even more excited. Great way to start a weekend with this video. So happy & proud of you Mark! ❤️
