I would love to have a 2024 or older with low miles. I don't want a lot of tech. You nailed it, it's extra unneeded stuff that can break. And I agree on the headlight too. I don't like it. Maybe a reason for them to justify a price increase.

@@NorthwoodsNomad Yes, true! Why not Yamaha...and also I wish Honda and Yamaha would put out factory supermotos. This channel is out of the Philippines which seems to have a great bike culture with good shops so easy to get work done on bikes (conversions, mods, etc). Here in the USA it's not a bike culture so not many shops and it's much easier to just buy factory built supermotos than convert. Unless you are skilled and have tools and can do work yourself. We need more options aside from European which are way too overpriced and much less reliable than the Japanese brands.
Offering this bike as an EU-5 for emissions means she's corked up hard. Many wanted a the fuel injection, bigger engine, & a 6-speed gearbox. But what was done was to get it into the Emission restrictive places of the EU, which they did. I think this might make buying a used DRz400 a little cheaper? But I'm going to look for one w/ an engine problem & do a big bore kit and add the wider gearbox to give it better speeds on the highway. As for this new bike, ya'll enjoy it but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to release some hidden power that was taken away by those pesky emissions. Uncorking her should be alright but I think the old one are still King. peace
I think what people are failing to remember is the 39hp drz400 was an E model. The S and SM were rated for 34 but most dynos showed it made 32 bone stock. So the hp bump is nice to see however. How tf did they make it so much heavier then it’s predecessor
The thoughts of heading out on a motocamping trip and screaming the guts out of this 5 speed 400cc engine for two hours as the traffic rides up my rear will keep me from buying this bike or the older DRZ400 forever. Suzuki blew the chance to dominate the midsize market with a 500 cc, 6 speed, tubeless wheeled new machine.
it followed yamaha ugly front design disco ball cyclops headlights , kinda hoping they just use retro inspired look round headlamp led of course, as other reviews of the bike drz miss the mark for old riders, too much tech for a dirt bike s model its fine for sm abs tc they should sell fi version of s no other tech and cheaper if they really want money just sell accesories headlight as an optional charge
I like the new DRZ4sm, however, a 6th gear and a bump in horsey would've been good. The fact the price has increased is too bad, since the only real improvement seems to be the looks and that's subjective. I just hope that new maps and major horsepower jump up to 50 will be possible with just a map, airbox mod and exhaust system.

I feel like they made the headlight the way they did so it’s less headlight looking and more so look like a front number plate on a dirt bike.

Best honest review that I've seen thus far of this new version. I'd take an original over this... and that new head looks really dumb.
