It is the city of Bangalore, India. This is breakfast dish. Very soft chicken Palav seasoned with spices and black sesame seems to be delicious. The market is bustling. The flower market has various color flowers and it is very beautiful. The colorfulness here is overwhelming but it is worth visiting. With petals and leaves, I made various decorations. It is very skillful. Soup which I have not seen so far seemed to be delicious. This Biryani and chicken are very suitable. There were two kinds of Idly, spicy coconut and butter. Everywhere chicken is very soft and tandoori chicken so it seemed delicious enough for everyone to be satisfied. I found the flower market was a great discovery.
It is called military hotel because, way back in the olden days Bangalore was cantonment area and full.of soldiers everywhere, and were looking for non veg food, and it was started by a Maratha army, then ordinary people started visiting these hotels because of the flavour and taste, that is why majority of the hotels are run by Marathis
Bhai I dont know but, I even think since they ruled most of the southern parts too that's why there some maratha influence there too... please correct me if I'm wrong
Sandeep yes you are wrong, here in Bangalore we call all non veg hotels as military hotel, not Maratha military hotel.. What @ Santhosh C told was ✔ right..
Not worth what they say very tasty and chicken leg piece that guy neither knew history and not the real taste 😅and yea its place where maratha military persons use to eat
Generally everyone says "SouthIndian Dosa" But Tamil Nadu , karnataka ,Kerala , Andhra everyone has different taste and I just love Karnataka Bangalore style dosa , Its crispy , spicy little sweet really awesome :)
Men are the best. The person introducing Bengaluru is pronouncing dose as dose unlike ladies who are always behind style agreeing with others who say it as dosa/dosai.Actually men are the one who are upholding our language, culture and tradition

Kudos to you and your awesome selection of hosts. You are visiting all the right places in Bengaluru and your Karnataka food tour. Unlike firangis like David's been here and other idiots, you presented the food which the locals eat and take pride in. Anubhav, we Bharathiyas should support desi vloggers more than firangs as we understand each other better. Thank you for showing the rest of Bharath, true Bengaluru food.
Hi Anubhav sir. Loved the video. Liked the Cone Biryani, Butter Idli & Non Veg food from Military Hotel. Loved the way u covered Karantaka food. Thanks for this video Anubhav sir!!
There are a few theories for this Military Hotel moniker. 1) Most of the people in Jaynagar, Basavangudi, Banashankari, Malleshwaram etc (old areas of Bangalore) are Vegetarians and if they wanted to join the Indian Army, they had to be physically fit and strong. They used to visit these hotels to eat non-veg as they did not cook it at home and that's why it got termed as Military Hotel. People used the food served in these hotels, rich in proteins and calories to achieve minimum weight limit for Indian army. Back then there was no IT or BT industry so civil and military (Govt) jobs were prized. 2) Hotels started and run by ex-Military folks. Retirement for some branches in Indian Military is about 35 yrs of age and post retirement some people used their savings and started restaurant business. Military presence in Bangalore has always been in excess and was a cantonment and strategically located between Chennai, Mysore and Managalore (Port). People from Maharashtra often got posted here and after retirement they settled here itself . Weather was super back then with lots of trees / greenery and Bangalore was considered a haven for retired / old folks. no garbage, quiet, quaint and peaceful. It has changed drastically now. 3) Hotels frequented by Military or ex-Military folks. Some Military folks, Vegetarians at home but had a taste for meat so they used to frequent these places. Some didn't have that much money and Food served in Military hotels is or rather 'was' economical, sheep legs and minced meat is not exactly premium goat meat. the better cuts like tenderlion, ribs etc were costly and in demand earlier and folks usually discarded trotters, intestines, head etc. Nowadays because of the popularity , cost of food here is at par with other joints in Bangalore and way costlier than other cities in India. If you compare with Kolkatta, food here is almost 2-3 times costlier . Also, mutton has become costly because it is liked by both non-veg and veg folks.
So finally watching all the series of BANGALORE FOOD WALK .. kinda feeling good justice in covering the varieties of food Bangalore has to offer !!! Also I saw that DFW dint rate any food less than 9! Max 10/10 n 9.5 👏🏼👏🏼😅
Chicken legs...donne biryani...paya soup.....and namma karnataka....how could i not love. Anyways superbly put in one video.cheers and healthy eating....
And by the way.. military hotel’s name origin is traced to the way of cooking from the army canteens, the way it was made for soldiers, ( or simply putting it as the recipe of army )which was considered as very healthy non vegetarian food. Since there weren’t dish names the food was simply called as military hotel food .. and hence came the tradition of military hotel .. heard it from a hotelier many years ago
I can answer ur question... In Bangalore these non veg hotels are named after military because the cook who started these hotels used to cook for the Indian army and the non veg dishes cooked there.
Shivaji Military hotel is an amazing place ..and hats off to rahul that he was able to shoot it. Its really difficult to shoot t e video over there ..because of the crowd. The dry mutton is absolutely sensational.
Asia's largest flower market, Mullik Ghat in Kolkata, is a riot of colours, with nearly 4,000 vendors selling everything from marigold and jasmine to imported lilies
@@bannyk5583 I have tasted it.Its a good biriyani..it is not right to say its the king of biriyanis. Btw taste is subjective. So its personal preference
Perfect recipe for acidity. Andhra and Hyderabadi food create a hole in your stomach. Perfectly overrated. The excessive use of rice is a put off just like in the case of North, Wheat is excessively used. Karnataka has a plethora of cereals used. Finger Millet, Great Millet and Pearl Millet just to mention a few. Little Millet, Kodo Millet, Proso Millet, Foxtail Millet, Barnyard Millet and Browntop Millet is also used extensively. Millets go well with meat. We get excellent brews made of these millets. Totally unheard of in Hyderabad where all gets to eat is Biryani and lousy curries and sides as the gourmand locals say.
abhijit pratap singh true bro .. South Indian breakfasts are really better .. and for biriyani as breakfast is actually very rare .. and I’m told usually people with high labour work prefer as it gives them day long energy.. otherwise few biriyani lovers wouldn’t mind gorging on it in the beginning of the day .. but yeah it’s not among popular breakfasts
