Best Explanation of the E6-B ever. This thing has been a outrageous nightmare until I watched this video. Now I can calculate anything with it. I had my CFI give me some random numbers and conditions after watching this and I nailed every single problem he gave me. Thank you sir, THANK YOU🥰❤️
My E6-B was copyrighted in 1967. It was fun to review it (unused for 50 years) and see that even ore conversion were added to the newer ones. I can see how it might still be easier to use then an electronic one, especially for those who might miss a button! Great video!
🎉 you explanation in different courses are so easy and helping I thank you very much, I have passed the PPL examen your courses helped me to pass the examen with success ❤❤❤🎉 thank you 😊 so much
Hi Wilbur, on most flight computers, next to each window there is an inscription indicating for which calculations it is used. However, almost in all cases, the window on the left is used for altitude calculations, while the window on the right is used for true airspeed and density altitude calculations.
I wish some of the examples were better explained I am getting confused of how some of the numbers after the points are showing up such as finding the true altitude and density altitude. Please could someone help me.
E6-B. Why do we still teach ancient technology? The year is 2024. We have electronic calculators, and ForeFlight. Does learning a manual E6-B give a modern day student who is learning flight planning for the first time, a better understanding of flight planning? or is it a waste of time given our modern day technology? Do you guys think the E6-B should be thrown into the garbage can? Is it still worth learning given today's technology? If so...then why? Martha King's reasoning is to have a non electronic backup if the electronic calculator fails. What are your thoughts ? Any other reasons why a student pilot should take the time to learn how to use the manual E6-B whizz wheel? Anybody? Any airline pilots or want to comment? Anybody want to comment? Curious to hear your perspective. Are there any studies that cite it's better to learn initially using a manual E6-B? Some younger students say they just use their iPhone if their iPad fails. But that doesn't address the question if learning by a manual E6-B helps a student pilot better understand flight planning? Are we older guys just stubborn in our old ways, or is there a legitimate and rational reason to still learn the old E6-B? I am open minded and l'd like to hear your perspective on the topic.
"Common sense" could be explained better here, as it's doing a lot of heavy lifting. All it means is that first you have to interpret the problem and know what a very wrong answer would look like. You can't just follow the numbers blindly. For example, if you were doing arithmetic on a calculator like 3x5 and ended up with 150, you should intuitively know that's wrong. Same thing here with a different calculator. You have to have an understanding of the math involved in order to use the calculator.
From hating this E6-B computer to loving what is does. You explained it perfectly man, thank you!

Thanks. What a lifesaver. I'm probably going to watch this 10 more times before my exam.

It's hard to find such well explained material! Wonderful.
This is the best explanation I've seen so far. Thank you.
You indeed make me love E6B! Great video thank you for your contribution!

Excelent video ❤️
It’s Really helpful lessons! Thanks 🙏
Shoutout to anyone studying for an aviation degree that didn’t understand their professor
awesome explanation thanks very much it was very helpful.
In the example or short distances how come you put it in 35? How do you get that is exactly 35 in secs? Thanks!!
great work
wooow great lesson and so heavy need more example please use more example such this lesson every thing is calculation
Waiting for next part
You can also use it for interstellar space travel because I saw Mr Spock use one.
Great stuff!!
Nice video!
Thank you so much!
When I work with the left window of pressure altitude and temperature you go right. When I go right you go left. How do I know which window to use?

Excellent video!
But the computer generated voice is very annoying.
The computer narrator is kinda wonky, but the video is decent.
