Jason, I got my PPL last July. I never fully understood the E6B. This video alone helped me more than anything else. Because of this one video, I have decided to choose MZeroA for my instrument training.
Jason would like to see you do a video on the E6B with the following problem. Altitude to lose 4000 feet. Planned decent rate: 700 fpm. Groundspeed 122 kts. time to descend, feet per nautical mile to descend and distance to start descent. This all can be done on an E6B.
This video over a year ago. I don’t expect to win but for those still learning. Time: 75.2 minutes, WCA:4.5 left, GS:96 kts, Fuel: 18.8 gals. Note, center grommet on this E6B is ginormous! Better quality units have a much smaller center hole.
Hi, I learned to use both the E6b and the circular but feel more comfortable with the CRs. My question is which one is the best and gives more capabilities of calculations
Hi Jason, 7/7! Not the first response (darn!) as I'm on west coast, but here's my solution from the trusty whiz wheel: 74 minutes, 98 kts, -4 WCA, 18.5 GPH fuel burn.
What a GREAT video, THANK YOU!!! Yes, would love to see you use that in your plane! LOL!! I'm WAY late to this, but the calculations were still fun on my (mini!) E6B. I got: Time:1:13:05/Speed 98kts/WCA: -3'/Fuel Burn: 18.1

Late to the game. But the reward to the video, was you showed me for free how to use an E6B. I’m sorry I missed out on the Lamborghini, or whatever the other reward was.
I was going to get an electronic e6b but I can't see myself paying $80-$90 for something that my metal rotating e6b can do. This video helped me alot in learning how to use it properly

Hi, I learned to use both the E6b and the circular but feel more comfortable with the CRs. My question is which one is the best and gives more capabilities of calculations
I found the wind direction side of E6B to be handy. Everything on the backside can be solved with very basic math faster than the E6B can solve it.
Really great tutorial! Thank you! I need this brush up for BGI written.
Jason, thank you for taking the time and making these videos.

Can you calculate fuel burn in litres rather than gallons or do you have to calculate in gallons then convert to litres?
Answers are as follows :
Time : 74mins
Speed : GS 98kts

Time is approximately 75 minutes, ground speed is approximately 98kts, wca is -5⁰ and fuel burn would be around 18.75 gallons in 75 minutes

Hi Jason, don't you have to "balance the drift" before accepting a WCA? I'm getting rusty, but that sprung to mind!
