    It’s not uncommon to see Ali ease up on a defeated opponent.

      yes....Cosell was a loud mouthed idiot....Ali knew what he was doing and was in control....he already knocked the man down numerous times and the fight was his....didn't matter if he got the official "knock out" in the end there, Buster had nothing left in the tank, and Ali didn't want to hurt him further.

    • @paulneville8172

      Yeah Ali didn't want to knock him out (like cassel was shouting) cos Ali was
      1. Taking the ocassion as a training session.
      2. Ali wanted the spectators to get their money's worth.

      Usyk would give Ali a great fight, highly skilled no matter the era. Fury would have been a tough fight for the first few rounds as well just off of his size alone but I favor Ali by decision.

      Naaa.... this clowns Usysk or whatever his name is & that clown Foory ot Fury or whatever. They just bums who happend to be big & fat. Dont mean they can box. Just throwing your gloves any which way don't mean u can b a Boxer. I say to these bums & clowns like Foory & Uzuki go home. Go do some knitting for ya granma.

      @@therealc.t.7085 i would safely say Ali wins, i think his amazing foot work those slashing lightning fast jabs and his phenomenal ring intelligence makes him too complete, you just couldn't hurt him, he stops Fury on cuts well before it goes the full distance.

    I love Ali, but I do wonder why his trainers never pushed him to work the body. He spent his entire career going for the head almost exclusively 😶😶

    • @pdm2201
      @pdm2201 7 місяців тому

      He felt he did not hit hard enough to cause pain in the midsection. His ko percentage is lower than most of his contemporaries.

    • @San-oe1xv
      @San-oe1xv 7 місяців тому

      He didn't need to, his style was fighting from the outside

    • @sensi6457
      @sensi6457 7 місяців тому +1

      @@San-oe1xv - But as he got older his style needed to adjust because all fighters were adjusting to him; bobbing and weaving, especially Frazer. If he had learned how to work the body and work in clinches he would have been even better; especially later as he slowed down

      In a lot of ways Ali was unconventional and did things "wrong". He was a head hunter. He kept his hands down. He'd slap with his punches. But all of it was what made him unique and he'd get away with it because of his warrior spirit, tremendous speed, a great chin, and high fight IQ to know how to dissect an opponent. Every fighter had weaknesses and style quirks. Ali was one of the weirder ones in history who made things that shouldn't work actually work.

    The Blimp was considered as being of high enough quality to feature in a bout for a portion of the world crown. What a joke, the only reason Frazier got his hands on a version, too afraid to be involved with the WBA tournament, flawed in itself by their refusal to include Liston, who would have taken the title with ease.

    • @anthonydileonardo8156
      @anthonydileonardo8156 Рік тому +1

      I never used to think that, but now I do...Liston was a tough dude with a broad back, huge hands and a steel jaw...Liston by KO early over Frazier
