Muhammad Ali vs. Trevor Berbick was billed as "Drama in Bahama."
The undercard featured Thomas Hearns vs. Ernie Singletary, Greg Page vs. Scott LeDoux, Earnie Shavers vs. Jeff Sims, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad vs. Michael Hardin, and Pete McIntyre vs. Mike Fisher.
Ali said he wanted to fight WBA heavyweight champion Mike Weaver. "I should beat Berbick easy just moving and sticking," he said. "Then I'll beat Weaver, and then I'll probably quit. To beat Weaver at age 40 and be champion a fourth time and then retire would be all right."
Berbick entered the fight as the Canadian and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, as well as the WBA's fourth-ranked heavyweight contender.
According to Sports Illustrated, Ali's purse was $1.1 million and Berbick's was $350,000.
The fight was shown on closed circuit television and was available to about three million homes in the United States on cable television. SelecTV was in charge of worldwide sales and distribution.
The fight was released on VHS in 1997 as Muhammad Ali vs. Trevor Berbick - The Last Hurrah - Drama in Bahama. It was a two-tape set that included the entire fight, a pre-fight press conference, and interview footage. It was released on DVD in 2002.
Muhammad Ali looked tired, overweight and out of condition. He should never have taken that fight.

Thats all true but he did look a whole lot better here than in the Homes fight. He couldn't even get a punch off in the Holmes fight, whatever drug that had given him for wight loss zapped him completely in that fight. You can see by his face expression here though that he has parkinsons

واضح ان مرض باركنسون بادي تأثيره على محمد علي رحمه الله وذلك من بطا وثقل حركته ،لكن مع الاسف لم يكتشف حد ذلك ولامحمد علي نفسه،،رحمك الله ايها البطل المسلم
لو تابعت الوثائقيات اللي تخص محمد علي كان وجدت امور كثير ممكنه وواضحه على هذا الشي ،، محمد علي بعد نزاله ضد فورمان صار ينصاب ف اي نزال كبير يخوضه

Ali should have retired after the second spinks fight
He did! He just didn't stay that way for long. Such a shame. Beating Spinks was the perfect ending. It was the Isman church he was in that convinced him he should fight again because they needed more money and he was their cash cow.

He did retire, He should have stayed retired after the second Spinks fighting.

despite he dedicated himself so as to put in best shape but it fallen short because of his ailment however he gave decent match to trevor bebric, of course trevor wasn't elite level boxer but Ali has lost his edge already, In my opinion Ali would destroy him if it was held 3 years earlier

He weighed 217 for Holmes. This time, Dundee told him to forget the scales, saying "I just wanted him to be strong."

Tydon até unificar o três cinturões era praticamente inbativel não concordo que ali foi o melhor de todos os tempos pode até ter sido o mais elegante no ringue o que mais bailava vi varias lutas dele e comparadas com as lutas de tyson não teria como se os dois tivessem lutado um contra o outro no alge de suas carreiras ali não passaria do segundo ralde tyson no alge era um monstro não tinha pra ninguém ele lutou com os melhores e venceu todos não sei se tevi outro que conseguiu unificar os três cinturoes que nem ele fez uma pena que tevi um fim de carreira lamentavel mais para mim ele foi o melhor peso pesado de todos tempos.

Not a great fight at all. The announcers were delusional. At this point in his career, Ali was a stumble bum and Berbick was never more than a good journeyman fighter.
Muhammad Ali at this age still put up an incredible fight. Berbick would be the winner fair and square if he could knock out Ali but it was a close fight.
