In this video Maxx shows us how to internally mod a Nerf Hammershot and what to do if you break stuff. He also shows us a major structural mod that makes the Hammershot look amazing and will take your larping to the next level.
**Any form of modding to Nerf blasters should be done at your own risk. It's very easy to cut yourself and even easier to break or lose pieces of the blaster, causing it to be inoperable. You should never attempt anything viewed in any of my videos for any reason at any time. This is simply for entertainment value.**
Be sure to watch Part II of this video to see the external modifications and the finished product.
You'll want to decide if this blaster is to be used for Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, Modern or Western Genre. Because based on the genre, it'll help you decide where to cut the arm section off. For Sci-Fi or Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy, I'd suggest leaving the small tube/energy cell section. For Modern or Western genre, I'd suggest removing that section.

Hey Max, I've been following your channel for awhile, and the stuff you produce is really awesome, it's inspired me and my Girlfriend to try LARP, the only problem is finding a decent one in central KY. Do you know of any good ones in Southern Ohio or Indiana?
Thanks for the kudos. The best thing you can do is probably Google search it. But I know in Southern Ohio, there is Castle Larp, Detroyer's Den, Realms of Ethara and there is probably a Dystopia Rising group within reasonable distance if you search. But I'd start with those and see what's closer. Once you go to a larp, people there may be able to suggest other games in the area. Good Luck!
I think I remember you mentioning Airsoft guns that you have, would love to see some modding or era’ing those up for different types of LARPS. Even tho for LARPS I too prefer nerf for better close encounters. But I also play Airsoft/Milsim often, and was wondering if you have any cool basic tutorials or just cool apocalypse/steam punk designs?
Other than that, I frickin love the nerf modding, some good shit. If I wasn’t being withheld a pay check due to the shut down, I’d already be a patreon my man. Keep it up! 👍🤘
It's cool, I understand. I do have quite a few airsoft that I use for some larps I do. Let me dig one out and I'll look into doing a video at some point.
i dont believe you can get in trouble for modding the hammershot to be stronger, the reason for that is that the hammer prime action is very small, and doesnt compress a lot of plunger tube volume, stock it shoots like 20fps lower then any typically blaster, with upgrades, it barely brings it up to par, you can do crazy upgrades, but even then it will struggle to break 100fps, even this i believe is legal in most games.
