Lol, I wanna see this baby in game! Maybe transporting a Blood Angel army?
@@oliverp3545 I'm pretty sure they have some magic abilities (result may vary) 🤣
Damn, that AD was glorious.
Don't you dare melt down that epic piece of WH history!
Hahaha
50k likes on this reply to save it! ^^
@@spagroen if you get 500 I promise not to melt the whole thing down
I see a loophole in that promise...
@@SquidmarMiniatures They're right. DO NOT destroy that model. I stopped collecting 40k over 15 years ago and it would *still* hurt my poor ol' soul to know that legendary model wasn't given the love it rightly deserves.
For the reveal you should have went with longer shots. Everything was cut so quick that getting a strong look at your work wasn't easy.
Agreed. Disappointing, and all that smoke doesn’t help either.
I agree that it was too quick, but I just put the video on ×0.25 speed.
Yeah I kinda bummed after watching the whole process but spent more time watching ads about square space then the finished model. Could spend ten minutes looking at all the detail. I remember seeing these in books when I was a kids. Dream model
i had the same feeling too, was waiting for maybe about the details of space ship, crew member numbers, how they operation, or at least put on the rotate dish so we can see around, back and forth.
Well he does the videos Only to make money nowadays
Don't melt it, I might not be a marine fan but that is something to keep and be proud of the effort put in.
Lol I had to unlike this video even though I loved it in fear he might actually melt that beautiful hunk of metal down.
No marine fan? Heresy!
No marine fan? Heresy!
The best part is now... you can take it to a 40K tournament and when you put that baby on the table everyone in the room will lose their ever loving minds.
Exactly, using it is a much better idea than melting it down.
When the pandemic is over he should definitely do that.
I think you meant to say when you put it through the table XD
Are there rules for the thing in modern 40k?
**Hearing the sounds of a large vehicle backing up just outside, about to unload an Imperator Titan.**
*Pro-paints an ancient Thunderhawk*
"I'm gonna melt it down."
That's probably worth as much as a new car at this point.
If the guy doesn’t want it, he should auction it off for charity. That way, it’s out of his life and does more good than just turning it into a puddle
@@notyou7993 Why charity, let him keep the money.
@@notyou7993 Agreed. And if he still really wants to "destroy" it, weather it to hell and back like it crash-landed somewhere and was recently uncovered
@@notyou7993 depends how much he'd get from doing a video of him destroying such a thing.
Say you had the Mona Lisa, and you could make a video of you destroying it and get 200bil for it.
I mean, I'd rather he didn't destroy incredibly rare things, seems like a massive waste, there's bound to be some kind of museums or sommin out there that would take it.
@@notyou7993 @Turtle Bear i'm pretty sure he's just joking.
Imagine the expression on everyone's face if u walked into a tournament lugging that behemoth around
He would be jumped in the parking lot for sure XD
I'm not a WH fan so forgive me if I get the names wrong.
A friend of mine, who's a HUGE WH fan, bought this massive "Titan" (I think) from Forge World. A skilful model builder and painter, he spent weeks assembling and painting this chunk of metal, but all in great secrecy, nobody was even given a glimpse of the thing.
Finally the great reveal, this massive thing almost tipping the table over with its weight was complete. It was a masterpiece, he really made an amazing job of what to me looked like a pig to assemble. He boasted proudly about how he would be able to own the battlefield, nobody would be able to resist, he would be the new Darth Vader, oh wait a minute... wrong franchise...
Anyway, the great day came, the first time it would appear on the battlefield. My cousin and his Imperial Guard was his opponent. Turn 1 wasn't particularly exciting, even by WH standards (remember guys, I'm not a fan), but turn two was slightly more interesting...
An Imperial Guard sniper took a shot at the Titan, threw dice a few times to sort out hits, damage, etc. and ended up taking the Titan out with one shot!
The Titan has never been seen since... 😁
@@Warriorking.1963 That's some crap luck
@@Warriorking.1963 That sniper must've rolled something like 12 sixes in a row...
@@Warriorking.1963 was it the size of a medium child?
Did this man just say MELT IT DOWN, are you okay squidmar? Please NO!
If you melt that, we melt you. Tiss a work of art and history. Perfection manifest.
Don't you dare melt this piece of beautiful history
*me, being held by the arms, rain pouring down dripping off my hat*
"It belongs in a museum!"
So do you…
@@whiteru55ian33 *Hollywood punch to the mouth*
You didn't spend nearly enough time on that reveal. It deserved two minutes of slow motion shots at the very least. The burned engines look incredible.
Amazing to see this. I owned one of these back in around 1998 but never got round to building and painting it - ended up selling it at my local games club. I wonder how many actually ended up being fully built and painted - only a few I would imagine, and to this standard? This may well be literally one of a kind!

I love the parts where he says to do parts like it’s a tutorial, like “ah yes, it was time that I ALSO paint MY thunder hawk that I TOTALLY own!”
Well the clear coating technique works for any metal miniature no matter the size. Even primer can flake off metal surfaces easily. Also when repainting diecast cars.
You can buy one of the Aeronautica Imperialis ones they just announced last week. Might need a smaller brush though....
I've found that some washes also help with stopping chipping due to it creating a varnish like effect, which was achieved with early painter red wash.
I have seen a lot of painters on youtube but your painting skills area really amazing and you make it look effortless. thank you for sharing this build and paintjob with us
4:55 "Don't worry you can always go back and fix it... With another six layers of yellow."
Never mind melting the mini. The editing on this video melted my head.
OMG that thruster nozzle tarnish effect is DOPE AF
I feel the word 'Miniature' isn't a fair reflection of builds like this. Fantastic job.
If it is smaller than it would be in actual size it is a miniature.
it's a great ature isn't it. really takes the "mini" out of miniature

Thanks for sharing this experience with us. You guys were a great team to stay the course on that build. The hazard stripes montage, time lapse camera shift montage, and music backdrop were well done. Your editing is really entertaining, even your squarespace ad was funny.
Please do NOT melt it down. If you want another video let it be a "Giving it away" video D: I'd fly out there just for it! And I don't even play Space Marines!
DONT GIVE IT AWAY
I can't believe so many of us have to say it but bruh... Dont melt it that would actually break my heart.
Please don't melt it down, you did such a great job!
Truly one of the best paintjobs I have seen on a warhammer miniature
Its crazy how old sculpt look so good with modern painting
Its because modern sculpts do a lot our detail work for us. Its not that the old sculpts are bad, rather it takes a better painter to bring out the details.
Wow! That came out amazing. It might have been the best painted examples of this model.
Thanks for sharing!
Imagine if you showed up a golden demon competition with this, I bet some of the judges wouldn’t know it’s official GW product.
The video edits on this were masterful. Love seeing you keep that side creative as well. Of course, amazing paint job!
The red dwarf never looked better....but seriously you have so much more patience than me, great work 👊🏻
Great reference 👌
I was really hoping for some stats like breakdown at the end, like total weight, how much glue and pins to hold it together and total hours start to finish. That kinda thing.
Boys from the dwarf 👐
I'm so proud of you... you just don't simply aquired one of the most expensive models of Warhammer 40k...but you painted it like a PRO!... i was amazed with the result and details... Great job
Great paintjob broski, congratulations!!! :-)
Thanks Brent :D
why he no try pink base under yellow....
those metalcolours are such high quality i enjoy them a lot. your patience on the details here is super impressive thanks for all the hard work squidmar
damn you woke up and chose violence 😂 “melt it down” 😂
Kudos for the work put into this model!
Don't melt it... use it to exercise ur biceps with style! 💪
Awesome paint job Emil!!! 👏

Awesome job and don’t you dare melt that behemoth! Btw, guess I really need to take a look at Squarespace since I’m Steve and all ;)
Oh good. I thought that UA-cam had really honed in with its targeted advertising.
Never never never even think of melting that. It is gorgeous and rare to boot!
Thoroughly enjoyable journey Emil, thank you for bringing us all along for it!
Dude, your videos have become so much more entertaining to watch the more you've done them! Love the content!
I love that in the 41st millennium we still have window wipers on our space ships.
Love the paintjob Squidmar!

beautiful work! Definitely belongs in the Squidmar Museum and to not be destroyed.
The walking at 5:45 had me crying. Maximum goof always please.
Shame you didn't get out the drill press and drill out the cannon barrel. But now you need to make an epic flying base for it!
Sometimes you have to go for mint condition.
@@dedude5864 He could atleast used a very dark black and painted an illusion of an opening.
So much work.... and you left the cannon barrel undrilled XD
You sure did it. 90 hours of modelling and 2 weeks of painting. The result really shows the work you and the team put into it.
Yes I remember these. I played active during that time. I was also one of the winners of the so called Chateau d Or campaign (you can see me in the German White Dwarf Issue 18 or 17 don’t know wich one). Well long story short. We also visited the GW headquarters and the facility where the metal minis were made. So GW gave us a box so we could pick minis … there was also a section holding the parts for the gunship. But no one took them … we reinforced or armies :-) two Stegadon and much more … but all of my stuff got lost in time sadly …
Squidmar wakes up at 13:00 I see... What a rockstar lifestyle
Thats a rockstar? Dang i better get a guitar or something
I totally didn't record that part video after the lunch breat. 100% not.
He's a father. I doubt he's woken up that late for a long time :)
He’s a father and get up at 1pm! I can’t believe he hasn’t trained his kids to bring him coffee in bed yet.
Watching this video, i can see it is many years since i painted warhammer.... the 'tools' is such a nice help it seems... i didnt have a airbrush or a paint shaker.... Very cool gadgets, i remember shaking those small paint buckets could really kill your elbows... lol
Last time I was this early, Horus was still a loyalist.
The production value on these vids is so awesome and entertaining! Good job and thanks!!
The sheer amount of goofiness in this one had me smiling the whole way through. A fantastic paint job was just icing on the cake. Well done!
I always enjoy watching how you assemble and paint these models.
“50k likes and I’ll melt it down”
Everyone worries to hit the like as to not get it even remotely close.
The spine-alignment illustration absolutely cracked me up...
Before i watch this episode:
I don't own any Warhammer, never really managed to build a single car model to completion as a kid and i got booted home when friends wanted to play with lego once (I beat them later.)
But i really enjoy following this build from start to finish, you make it really interesting for anyone. Thanks for some great content.
I almost didn't hit like just to make sure you don't melt it haha This was amazing! You did great!
just got my delivery notice for the brushes being shipped! can't wait to see these and the packaging first hand
I can't wait to see how the flight stand turns out 😉
This was awesome. It really is one of a kind being such an old model that you probably would be hard pressed to find at any price now.
Please find and paint some of the Tanith First and Only "Gaunts Ghosts!"
Hi,
Awesome works on this Old Timer mini !
I'm very happy for you.
Wish youthe Best.
Mörkhdull from Belgium !
As someone who's flat burnt down 2 days ago, taking most of my 15 years of minis with it, I think I'm emotionally hardened enough to see this get melted down
I'm sorry to hear that :(
My heart goes out to you brother, sorry to hear about your loss
Parts of this remind me of Llamas With Hats, Charlie the Unicorn, and Jogging in tune with Take On Me. Well done.
NEVER MELT IT
Now that you suggested that I can feel good about giving a like
It looks phenomenal! Nice work Emil!
Sqidmar says: "Do you want to see me melt it down"
Me: "yes lord Inquisitor this Video"
Lord inquisitor executes exterminatus on Squidmar.
Hey man not sure if you'll see this but I just wanted to say what an inspiration you've been for me who just started this hobby. I have a lot to learn but you've really helped me get my foot in the door with it all and made figuring out how to tackle this nearly painless. I literally never picked up a brush before all this and now I'll never put one down! Keep it up, love the videos
Giving us a painting tutorial for it as if any of us watching are ever going to own it 😅
i was thinking of making a proxy, so its not even that bad of an idea
Your channel is getting me into painting again! This time I won't quit!
I liked the video, but DO NOT DESTROY THIS BEAUTY!
That's some serious talent.
I just found your channel 5 minutes ago and got a surprise upload lol
Awesome work there, one of the coolest minis I have ever seen.
I feel like there’s more shots of you not painting than there is of you actually painting.
You certainly did this miniature proud. DO NOT melt it down!!!
Don't melt that down, do some kind of giveaway if you aren't gunna keep it lol
Based on how it's held together It wouldn't survive the trip
I'd love to see squidmar get more into gundam builds and custom paint jobs!
“It’s time for the grand revea-“ *que UA-cam add*
This is crazy first, that it exists, second, that it is metal and assembled, and third, totally awesomely painted. Probably unique at this point, I approve your dedication.
Been waiting for this! never clicked a vid so fast !!
I have been watching your videos for a while and kept being like "why is this guy so familiar??" and I assumed it was just because I have Swedish friends, but it just hit me - I used to listen to your band a lot like...a dozen years ago, often while painting minatures amusingly.
Got me pulling out The Cancer Empire again xD
Wait... you spent all this time and effort, yet didn't drill out the main cannon?
I was thinking that... looks kinda dumb and its such a crazy piece.
didn't turn out too great in my opinion but I aint hating, this guys crazy talented.
actually just wanna correct myself - i think it does look fantastic - it's just the cannon and a few small things that look bad (like the space marine in the gunner seat) but that being said everything else is crazy. I could never do anything close this so don't get the wrong idea >_
I like how you made it go faster by painting it red.
WAAAGH!!!
be creative, be positive, don't destroy it. do something good with it, at least auction/donate for charity if you don't want it yourself. do something productive (as in something that adds to and improves this world).
This would look even more beautiful in the Lamenters scheme.
Only a heretic would want to melt down that masterpiece
Dont kill it!!! Awesome, every step
I’ve been painting and collecting since 88 and I owe it all to Gordal Luggub and I’ve been watching you for a while now , not in a creepy stalker way but in a this guy is pretty cool way and I just got to let you know you have my respect young man and you are a fantastic painter you definitely taught me a trick or two
The cinematography on this episode is unreal, great work!
Holy Shit! Some epic Piece of Metal-Miniature that already was extremely expensive now is unique and went up in price! Great Work!
Melt it down!! Dude are you insane!!? That’s a piece of artwork not to mention WH history.
Really enjoyed the transitions :)
I have to say, the editing/filmmaking of this video is gorgeous! especially those time-lapses with camera movement at 7:29 etc!
Squidmar......you didn't drill out the barrel of the main gun!! Might have to report ya..........amazing job as usual!
DONT MELT IT ITS GORGEOUS. Seriously you could sell prints of the glamor shots of this baby.
It's quite charming... and it must go in flames! Melt it down, Squidmar! The Gods will it!
Love the Bobby Duke funny walk scene.
My favorite part is those awesome nozzle burns on the engines 🔥
