It's so cool that all of this archived stuff is coming out of the woodwork.... while the loss of the great Edward Van Halen leaves me speechless, the upside is all of this cool stuff that people have had hidden away is now coming out ~ so many interviews, old shows, early days, old pictures never-seen-before, etc., etc., ~ I especially LOVE the ISOLATED guitar tracks of Eddie's that are on YT. I was raised with Van Halens music and my guitar playing has always been 100% about Ed and whatever ways I could be original. This is what he taught..... if it sounds cool, it is cool! There will never be another Ed and I am blessed to have been raised on his guitar playing. My family always had an old acoustic guitar sitting around and everyone in the family played an instrument, so by the time I heard Eddie for the first time I already had a pretty good handle on the basics. I only had an electric guitar for about 3 years before I heard Eddie, but once I heard "Eruption" ... that was it for me. I still play Van Halen stuff every single day and I have for the last 40-plus years. This is so RAW ... it's so cool to hear them like this.
