Hey! Quick note from someone who works at gamestop, if you are wanting a case for a game that might have a gutted display case, you can always ask if we have a spare display to put into the case instead or ask if they have more preowned cases in the drawers and swap them out. Sometimes we get games that people trade in and they just go right in the drawer and we don't swap out the display cases. Most gamestops will be awesome and just swap them out for ya, some are picky.
"I'm not a big fighting game guy" Then proceeds to immediately get a fighting game. Lol I liked that video. This series kinda reminds of Rick's $10 collection.
Something I REALLY wish you would add that would add to the series is either at the end of this episode/beginning of the next show all the items that sold from the current/previous video. “Projected” profit is fun but seeing it in action would be awesome. Garyvee use to do that in his old garage sale vids and it added a lot to the vids.
Hey Caleb you should look into a vendors license so you dont have to pay sales tax! It's been super helpful in my business of sports cards and memorabilia and think it would be great in the video game sector of reselling also!
I'm not really that into reselling or anything like that myself, personally I'm just a video game enjoyer and thats that :D but I will say your videos have a sense about them that is rather satisfying, especially with how fast it looks when edited together. It's just mesmerising how you're literally building up a switch game collection from scratch and it makes me want to come back to another video. It also reminds me of how little I've been playing lately and how I really wanna get back onto my Switch as there's games I have that I haven't even had the chance to play yet.
Caleb your videos are awesome as always. I bought my son a switch for Christmas and I have been trying to build his collection as cheap as possible. I have been able to find most games for $20 like Zelda, Super Smash, and Mario Odyssey. Your videos have helped me to search for great deals.
Hey Phoenix, i really hope your paying Riff good money. ive never seen a editor so dedicated and involved in the content. love your videos man. take it easy and good lucky on the hunt!!
When your at GameStop, always ask if they have a complete copy of the case is it’s a recent copy they may have multiple copies in the drawer with the case, so always ask, I did and I was pretty happy
It's so hard for me to watch your channel. I used to have a killer collection of retro games... Over time though I lost them. Lost them in storages, sold them for drug money when I was lost in my addiction. Went to rehab in March 2021, and I'm still sober to this day. I've slowly been collecting again, but the boom of the market has got me very discouraged. I started collecting back in 2006, whenever the market was good for it all. Now.......just getting my hands on little grabs even proves costly. I could just grap repros, but that's not right. It's fun watching how you operate, it makes me sad though knowing that I was once on this path. I had this gloomy feeling that here in a few years time that getting retro deals will be very far and in-between now that there are so many retro enthusiasts. 😔
This man has literally given me the knowledge and more drive then I already had to flip things to one day be able to open a game store of my own and I honestly can’t even put into words how much I appreciate it! Keep up the good work Caleb! 🤘🏼
Thanks Caleb! Because of you I now hit up the game sections of pawn shops and make really good money off it. Just got 6 games today for $30. I got 2 copies of smash bros, breath of the wild, pokemon shining pearl and a couple other random games. Also found a 3DS XL without a charger for $60 out the door! Score!
Breathe of the wild, funding a Switch collection w/ no money out of pocket hunting for games to flip, Chipotle to fuel the trips.. this may be my favorite channel 😂
Can’t believe this happened, but I stopped at Gamestop before a haircut, and I ended up walking away with NCAA 14 and GOW Collection, sold the NCAA in less than an hour for about 70$ profit. Awesome pickup I also had a real awesome OLED trade for a ton of n64, gamecube games/consoles I thought that was awesome, definitely going to keep doing trading because IT WORKS lemme tell ya
ive played dragon quest builder and i love it, there is a combat system and you get to build to your own free will which i love too. theres also a story live of being washed up on a beach etc and i recommend the game for a more calmer day
I love how Caleb goes "I'm starting to lose hope" after not getting a response from Chipotle, that the next shot is Caleb walking by a Moe's van. It's fate, Caleb.
GameStop doesn’t carry or take Limited Run games. Only chance to find one is if there is a non Limited Run version and they just take that version in trade in. Best Buy has Limited Run games if you want to find new ones in a store.
@@PhoenixResale hey man keep in mind at gamestops when looking for complete used games...they don't keep the artwork copies always on the floor if you ask they might have in the drawers where they keep the games cause the game cases are more of a last copy then that is your case scenario.
Was just up in LEX this past weekend! Figured you'd might like to know that Game Exchange is doing a buy 4 get 6 free on Movies/Blu Rays. I know thats not normally your thing, but there could be some profit there.
If you find yourself back in the Louisville Metro for videos, I’d recommend CardNAll gaming. It’s a local store with two locations across town, and you Amy be able to find some good switch deals there, as they tend to have more modern games than retro, through the retro selection is still great. I’d pay both locations a visit, though they are about 30-45 away from each other. Despite that, checking them both out to see which has a better selection may be a fun video idea
When at gamestop and you see a game in their own gamestop box still ask behind the counter if they have the original one. Sometimes at the gamestop near me they keep the box in their drawers and will transfer the game into it when purchasing it. I guess so their only box doesn't get more damaged or something? or they are lazy? idk. It doesn't happen for all of them just a few I've asked for. so it's worth a small shot if you see something you want.
From my understanding with chatting with a few GameStop employees, they do not take in limited run games. Something about it not being in “their” database they cannot buy limited run games
One of my small issues is that you buy a game and flip it and you then spend the difference on something else. That first game has not been sold. Can you share any details about how long you might wait before you have a sale ??? How long does it take from when you buy a game to being sold and the profit being with you ?
After you finish this switch challenge, you should do a nintendo publish games subset challenge for the switch, or any outher favorite publisher, sounds like a unique collecting challenge for your game room.
Hey caleb big fan but big tip i'd use at gamestop i've noticed that some gamestops will have only pre owned switch games with gamestop cases out on the sales floor while hiding sealed/preowned copys with good cases hidden behind counter in the cabinets, check their app for availability while not always accurate its helped me twice so far!
Finally another mission switch video! Been loving it so far especially since i just bought a switch for myself(finally saved up enough). Any recommendations on games I should get when I've saved up some money? Have you thought about adding some kind of list of games to check of in this series like in gamecube gambit?
Wait... I see that Guitar Hero Metallica Is $34.99 and your would make $50 from it... Like is it really popular in America? Being a Huge Guitar Hero fan when I was looking for this game It was around £1.50 or £2 depending on which shop.
I bought Zelda breath of the wild at a liquidation store for 10$ wasn't a bad deal. Maybe try one of those places. I also bought a pokemon shining pearl and brilliant diamond twin pack for 40 brand new. Plus smash brothers, animal crossing, and other switch games for 10 each on a special sale. The owner wanted it all gone.
I don’t think GameStop is allowed to sell Limited Run games because I don’t know if they would show up in their system at all since they aren’t sold at standard retailers. Just a hunch though
Btw if you see a game without a case in GameStop there’s a chance we have extra in the drawers that have their cases unless it’s the last one. We only gut 1 game out of the games we have. I know this because I worked 2 seasons at GameStop
What I’m saying is there probably was a Mario kart 8 they had with the actual case and they’d replace it for you easily just ask. Just know we are usually not too friendly to resellers but if you don’t make it obvious you’ll be fine plus it’s for your collection so you wouldn’t be in that scenario.
Also you should play temtem it’s literally like Pokémon and you have to be connected to online but you aren’t actually online on it! Definitely worth a try
I am sad that you didn’t get 3D all stars, because it is personally one of my most played switch games. You got Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze though, which is in my top 3 favorite switch games!!
I’ve been looking for a 3DS for a long time. I hate the idea that I could have gotten one from a pawn shop for $80-90 but a reseller took it and is selling it on a store that I won’t find for $150 or higher, which is a bit above my budget,,,
Yay! I’m so glad guys like you make game collecting hard for everyone and constantly raise the price of games giving people who actually just wanna get these games and play them a harder time to relive their childhood! You are such a smart guy omg! I am so glad guys like you make everything harder for people who just wanna collect and play! You are sooooo awesome! Thank you so much for making game collecting even harder you supposed fan!
If you go into a GameStop and they don’t have a physical copy of a game on shelves. You could ask for a physical copy and they could potentially have it.
Same here. Zelda is my favorite video game franchise. Zelda: Ocarina of Time is probably my favorite game of all time because it really stimulated my imagination. Years later and Breath of the Wild did the same and recaptured what made OoT special. When Link first Steps out from the cave to overlook the Great Plateu in Breath of the Wild, it really ignites a desire to explore, and imagination comes alive.
you probably prefer playing super mario 64 on the n64 because from what i understand, the switch is emulating the game, meaning it isn't a perfect rendition, and also, it's the shindou version rather than the traditional release you are probably more used to from your childhood.
160$ pair of amiibo ? Didn’t those Splatoon amiibo get restocked for Splatoon 3 ? I swear I saw those amiibo available on the my nintendo store for 25$…..

Why doesn't GameStop just do that without me asking?
"I'm not a big fighting game guy"
Then proceeds to immediately get a fighting game. Lol
I liked that video. This series kinda reminds of Rick's $10 collection.
The punchline being that dragon ball z kakarot is an action RPG not a fighter.
It’s Caleb’s 0 dollar switch collection instead
