When my brother Lowell, lived in San Diego in 1990 he was working at a gas station and Al with his wife drove in for gas 🤣my brother recognized him immediately (as we are all serious Beach Boy fans) he said that Al was a very nice person and friendly, they had a nice talk then Al said “you might get fired if your boss sees you not working “ my brother told home he didn’t care because this was more important he’ll just get another job🤣🤣🤣Al wrote him and autograph on a gas recite for me and my sisters My brother said that Al laughed at him not caring if he was fired🤣I was jealous but happy 🤣
Thanks for that great story Barbara. Its so easy to see what a great human being he is, and very nice person. Not a sell out to that phony Mike Love like Bruce. The way Al has always stuck up for Brian is so honorable.
Al was one of greatest get along with other musicians in history. He was a easy going musician open up to all the bands ideas. Amazing to me, none of them had a dynamic voice; but all 2gether they performed musical, vocal majic. That could be be to harmonic studio gimics. Dont know how much I would enjoy their majic live in concert.
Lima Ohio. Best known for producing Ephraim Shay's steam engine locomotives, and Alan Jardine. I am at a loss to pick which I like best. But Al is a Beach Boy. steve
Well the very first fact presented here is entirely false (Al didn’t co-write Help Me Rhonda or any of their biggest hits, just sang lead on it), this is pretty awesome
29:42 Gosh Al really has a hard time answering understanding this question. It’s pretty awkward lol. Feel bad for the interviewer. He asks it twice!! 30:34
Brian, Carl, Alan, Dennis, and a cousin, who I forgot his HATEFUL name. The Beach Boys! Alan, PLEASE talk your son Matt to join. His voice is almost as good as Carl's. I'd kill (Hateful Mikey) to get Matt's Falsetto voice. Might off Brian, for Carl's. steve
Al is a great talent , very underrated and the man can sing.
Al Jardine: awesome musician and personality!
God loves Al Jardine. A very, very good man. Standing by Brian through thick and thick. So vastly underrated.
Al’s voice blended so well with Love and the Wilsons. His tone fit so perfectly with that harmony.
Al Jardine is Brian Wilsons best kept secret
Al is a real class act!
Als voice always holds up

Al has been the best lead vocal of any of the surviving Beach Boys since Carl died.
We all love you, Al!
Please write your autobiography soon
Classic al!! What a guy
I never get tired of hearing that wonderful voice!!
Comes across as a truly genuine, decent and nice person..I'm biased...love the Beach Boys
Al Jardine was also a Dentist living in Virginia. ( Biography) The Beach Boys where the greatest groups back in their day 1960's !!
Al Jardine = the Bob Weir of The Beach Boys
Great comparison!
Great interview Al, keep up the good work... Fmr Lettermen Gary Pike

I still think.of Al as a fellow Buckeye, he was born in Lima, not too far from my hometown.

Al Jardine > Mikey Luv
💛💛💛
I thought the “clean” part came from Al not wanting people to swear around him.
