A few years ago, when Brian stopped touring because of his back, he and his son went on tour. My wife and I saw his show and absolutely it. He talked with the audience and told stories about the songs he was singing. It was great! 😊
he probably has the least brain deterioration of the surviving members. Still completely coherent, kind and genuine in every recorded situation. Compared to Mike, Bruce, and Brian he’s probably the only normal one. Zero drug past, zero open ego and nothing but just going with the vibe. Yeah it’s sad but at least we still have any member that still seems completely intact
Al is such a down to earth guy who happens to be a professional musician! ! Such a great interview!! I love the fact he still tours with Brian- a true friendship that has endured for 60 years, amazing! ! Always a true friend
From UK never met Al Jardine (followed Beach Boys since 60s), BUT he comes across as a really nice normal guy, a great dad and family man. Deserved all his success. Keep going Al, till you can't.
A few years ago Mr. Jardine posted pictures of himself and his wife attending a Moody Blues concert in California(before they finally got elected into the RRHOF). What a class act that was, letting folks know that The Moody's were deserving of being in there. He still has a great voice too and his California Saga trilogy(from Holland) along with Mr. Love is one of my favorites. Thanks for all the great vocals Mr. Jardine!
I've always loved the beachboys, and love this interview, listening to al talk, he seems like the nicest guy you would ever meet, you could listen to him talk for hours, the lady doing the interview, I'm struck, she is a very beautiful woman, such a beautiful smile,
So nice to see and hear a really thoughtful interview and sitting with Al Jardine. I haven't seen many of them. Mostly brief snippets, a few words, and it's over with. Many interviews of varying length out there with Mike Love (often accompanied by Bruce Johnston). And Brian is not that conversant, gives brief, mostly monosyllabic answers in the interviews he gives these days. So it's nice to hear from a gentleman that we don't hear that much from. And nicer still that you were able to have a lengthy conversation with him. Was very interesting. Thank you!
Last year, I had 4 tickets to a Brian Wilson Band concert. Yes, Brian. Also, Alan and Matt Jardine. That concert was "simply irresistible." They NAILED it. A Bucket List concert! Al, and later on, Matt have kept my favourite band alive, for 1/4 of my life! Not the beach boys. Brian's band. (Well, 3/4th of my life, that was The Beach Boys.) But, someone's cousin SHAT on that! steve
Al is the most grounded of all 1960’s pop stars ! He is also , “ the greatest second chance in rock and roll “ ! Imagine quitting The Beach Boys and being asked back . He is the opposite of Pete Best !
Nice interview, kind words shared, but Mike Love is the lead singer of The Beach Boys along with Brian, Carl and Al at times. Mike Love did play an instrument, saxophone and why is David Marks contribution of almost two years and the first four albums left out of the conversation.
I would do anything to surround myself with an intelligent, sophisticated, and professional fellow artist such as Al Jardine 🙏🏽😁💖🎶💯 OR Quincy Jones amongst many many others. I LOVE BEING A MUZIK PRODUCER 💜💛💚💙🧡🎶
The Beach Boys are unusual in the sense that their music is mainstream, but the individuals aren't celebrities. Brian is the most well known, but he doesn't have the personality for it. Mike does, and Dennis did. But they were always in Brian's shadow. Carl and Al were very laid back.
What do you mean "they cannot sing"? The have a whole singing career. Both their parents are singers. The even sang with the Beach Boys in the 50th year reunion. They're just... not Brian.
Al is by far the most likable Beach Boy.
A few years ago, when Brian stopped touring because of his back, he and his son went on tour. My wife and I saw his show and absolutely it. He talked with the audience and told stories about the songs he was singing. It was great! 😊
Al not only has the most distinguished face of the Beach Boys, but also has a golden personality...I could listen to him talk all day too

He is such a nice man
Yes so true a great human being seen him in Denver with Brian and he had Brian's Back the whole time when he's was struggling ❤😊
I have seen the Beach Boys in at least 5 of their concerts over the decades.
At 72 I still love their amazing harmonies.
The Beach Boys have been a part of my life seems like forever (I'm now 67!). Al you are my favorite Beach Boy!
This was awesome, it's great to see Al looking so fit and in good health , and I have agree that "A postcard from California" is a great album.
Happy 80th Birthday Al Jardin

I just adore Al Jardine. I'm 65, and I've been a huge Beach Boys fan since I wa 7 years old.Thes
This is the only member of this band who probably had about as normal a life as you can get. He never drank, never smoked, and never did any drugs,
I never knew that
What an amazing grandfather of rock and roll. An absolute legend of epic proportions. God I would love to sit down with this guy for a weekend.
Al is very under rated...great singer and rhythm guitars player.
I love Abby Jardine's drawing of her grandpa! And it DEFINITELY should be on a tee shirt.
Just gotta love the AL!
Al's group needs an album. I think they would kill on the right new material too.
A class act LEGEND. Nice interview 👍🏼😎
Thank you Alan ❤️

Beach Boys, what a century Group !
Interviewer so nice !
Al has always been my fav Beach Boy.
What a good family musical man behaves and looks like in amongst the often Bohemian industry.
😎
Carl had the best voice of all of them

Grew up in Carmel during that era. Being a kid the Kingston Trio were larger than life.
Very interesting guy.
Underaged pioneer of rock, one of the best background singers ever. Still a golden voice.
Meant underrated.
Yes , a great background singer who was also trusted with the lead on Wouldn’t it be Nice and Help me Rhonda !

Bruce Johnston has been a BB for over 50 years.

The Wilson girls cannot sing so not sure why they would be part of this musical group.

@@DeeckyRizzoThey are decent singers.
Congratulations Al, continued success.
I saw Al / Beach Boys family/friends in '99 , was awesome. Seen Al several other times w/ the BBs...his voice is still killer-
